Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for September 26th to October 8th 2016

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of September 26th 2016 and 1 – Men "men" or Eagle in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with Pluto turning direct, Mars entering Capricorn, the Libra New Moon, and Mercury entering Libra.

September 26th is 1 – Men "men" or Eagle carries the themes of higher perspective, keen vision, free spirit, messenger of faith and knowledge, patience, wings of the spirit, value, manifestation of fertility, knowing the details, dualities of the Sun and Moon, the budding youth and the wise elder, male and female, the soaring eagle and the fallen eagle, the messenger between heaven and earth. It also represents luck, hope, liberty, trust, good fortune and good relationships. Eagles have the quality of being able to observe movements from a great distance. The 1 Eagle thirteen day period could be used to gain greater perspectives about the events in our lives through creating some distance between the observer and the observed

Since we begin a new Gregorian month during this trecena, I thought I'd discuss the metaphysics of the upcoming month. October is the tenth month and with the digits for 2016, when added together we get 10, then we add 1 + 0 to tell us that this is a ten/one month in numerology. Basic numerology reduces numbers to one through nine, so when we think about that arc the 1 represents a time of new beginnings. The 10 and the 1 are represented by the Wheel of Fortune and Magician Archetypes in the Tarot cards. The Wheel of Fortune is about prosperity and abundance that comes from being objective, flexible, and creative. To quote Ruth Ross "All prosperity begins in the mind and is dependent only upon the full use of our creative imaginations." The 1 card is the Magician which represents the principle of communication, represented by the god Mercury. Words were originally magic. Another quote to illustrate the Magician Archetype comes from Starhawk, "Language shapes consciousness, and the use of language to shape consciousness is an important branch of magic." So October represents the beginning of a new cycle which comes into being through our communications leading us towards prosperity by being flexible, objective, and creative.

Before I get into the daily energy for 1 – Men, on the 26th all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth, except Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto which appears to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes being played out. Chiron retrograde has us reviewing our wounds so that they can be released, by having the courage to open our hearts to any fear or pain associated with our past. If you find yourself recalling painful events or situations between now and when Chiron turns direct November 30th, it is advisable remain conscious while dealing with these uncomfortable feelings as they will reveal the path to healing and letting go of what no longer serves a purpose in our upcoming journey. Uranus in Aries retrograde, is seeking to shake our very foundation through the unexpected rebellion of the individual. Uranus in Aries will have people wanting to hurry the process of getting free. To push the river of revolution whether it be personal or political. Uranus in astrology forces us outside our comfort zone so we have to look for possibilities "outside the box." This is about unplanned experiences that disrupt our perceived and planned life path in order to move us forward in our spiritual evolution, individually and globally. Neptune retrograde is seeking transcendence through spiritual experiences. This will be a time to use spiritual practices to keep us grounded as we expand our intuition and consciousness. Both Neptune and Pisces, the sign it rules, tend to be dreamy, imaginative, difficult to nail down due to their qualities of illusion and illumination often without any way to know which is which. They represent compassion and co-dependence, selflessness and loss of self, higher purpose and substance abuse, in their inspiration to transcend the material plane and experience something beyond words and thoughts. Pluto the planet of transformation through a death and rebirth cycle, is retrograde, which is about reviewing the past, and is a time of releasing anything from the past that is a burden to our new path. Pluto represents death, completion, and in Capricorn, the breakdown of structures, to bring about transformation.

The big change during the Eagle trecena is the lord of the underworld, Pluto is turning direct on the 26th. Pluto has been retrograde for about six months and is stationed or at a standstill during this 13 day time period. As Pluto begins to move forward it closes on chapter and opens another, to let go of what no longer serves the transformation process individually and globally.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
September 26th is 1 – Men "men" or Eagle: unity experienced through seeing from a higher perspective in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, while Pluto turns direct which slowly shifts the energy of the planet of death, rebirth and transformation from our inner experience during the retrograde period, to the outer world as it continues to destroy the decaying Capricorn structures of government, big business, and big religion. Pluto is affecting many of us as it changes directions at 14 degrees 55 minutes of Capricorn, which is a time of increasing intensity and force, when superficiality will not be enough. This will be particularly intense for people with personal planets around 15 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn. Pluto is at the peak of its power, due to its lack of movement as it changes directions. This can be destructive energy that needs to fulfill its purpose as transformation. It's really best to hold lightly and let go if needed. Surrender that which has out lived its purpose. Also on the 26th the Sun conjuncts Jupiter which is very good energy both physically and psychologically. It's very optimistic and expansive. People will be more open minded, so it might be a good day to study and understand subjects that normally seem beyond our understanding. The only caution I see for this transit is to avoid being arrogant, domineering or excessive, as those are the negative aspects of the day. Mostly this is very positive and promotes future growth. Also on the 26th the Leo Moon finding support from Saturn has folks  settle into a more sober and realistic view of life.

The 27th is 2 – Cib "keeb" or Wisdom: duality experienced through introspection, meditation and forgiveness, with Mars entering Capricorn, which brings control and focus to energy for physical activity. Fierce, magnetic, and commanding are descriptions on Capricorn Mars. This is energy that is held in reserve until it is needed. This also has the quality of quiet self reliance. Mars also rules sex, so this gives an earthy and passionate quality to encounters, but also brings self-control to relationships. Capricorn Mars is productive and practical. Also on the 27th the Moon finds support from Uranus and Mars, so the days emotional energy shifts from having the impulse to engage in activities that make us feel more alive, to later bringing the energy for asserting ourselves in a positive manner and standing our ground if necessary.

September 28th is 3Caban "kah-ban" or Earth: taking action through gratitude for Mother Earth, while the Virgo Moon harmonizes with Venus, is opposed by Neptune, challenged by Saturn, and supported by Pluto, which moves from wanting to be with friends and the people we love, to later feeling sensitive emotionally but confused regarding the accuracy of what's being felt, followed by people feeling lonely or isolated, and finally feeling on a deeper more intense level under the influence of Pluto.

The 29th is 4 Etznab "etz-nob" or Flint: stability through being introspective, while the Moon in Virgo merges with Mercury which is positive energy for integrating our thoughts and moods.

September 30th is 5 – Cauac "cow-ack" or Storm: empowerment through recognizing the gifts in adversity, while we have the Libra New Moon which is challenged by Mars, and merging with Jupiter and the Sun. Mars square this New Moon can bring have people feeling irritable which could lead to needless disputes. Moon merging with Jupiter can bring good feelings and generosity towards others. These may balance each other out, or we may experience people exhibiting one or the other quality. Since this is the second new moon in a month, it is also called the “Black Moon.” New moons are times of new beginnings and in Libra is about balance, partnership, diplomacy, harmony, and ascetics. New Moons bring the opportunity to set an intension for manifestation on the following full moon. Look to the house of your astrology chart that contains 8 degrees 15 minutes Libra to consider what area of your life is being activated by this new moon. For me it is the fifth house of children and creativity, so I expect this cycle to provide new information about my creative process and perhaps my relationships with children. That would fulfill the Libra New Moon's desire for pleasantry and beauty through the fifth house's role of creative expression.

October 1st is 6 Ahau "ah-how" or Sun: being in the flow through honoring the wisdom and memory of our ancestors, while Venus trines Neptune, which is an alignment between planet octaves. Venus representing personal love and Neptune representing unconditional love. This is pleasant energy, although not so great for accomplishing tasks. It has a strong tendency for daydreaming and fantasy. This is excellent for any type of creativity that must be conceived mentally prior to being brought into physical form. For the more highly evolved this is experienced as great compassion and tenderness, as this transit induces selflessness and spiritual love. Also on the 1st the Libra Moon harmonizing with Saturn and challenged by Pluto changes from having realistic expectations through being calm and reflective, to later the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run.

October 2nd is 7 Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile: reflection through nurturing new beginnings, while Mercury is opposed by Chiron can bring a greater focus in our thinking regarding issues that require release to promote healing and can take us more deeply into our past wounds to allow more organized insights that seek resolution. We may feel uncomfortable and unsettled as old emotions come to the surface in our conscious minds so they can be healed. This may cause difficulties for a couple of days the tension of opposition that pulls the pain of the past into our present consciousness. Also on the 2nd the Moon opposed by Uranus and stimulated by Mars which shifts from folks being emotionally excitable and impulsive, to later having the desire to work independently from others.

The 3rd is 8 – Ik "eek" or Wind: balance through communication, while the Scorpio Moon finding support from Neptune, merging with Venus, and in harmony with Pluto which moves from our innermost subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great for accomplishing much work, to later feeling cheerful, warm, gregarious, and wanting to go out and socialize, and finally having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level.

October 4th is 9 – Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: patience experienced through contemplating the stars, while the Sun sextiles Saturn which is a great day for getting things done. It brings an orderly state of mind and a strong sense of self discipline. This is practical energy that is not interested in idealistic or abstract considerations that have no application in daily life. This favors all matters related to work or profession, with what is accomplished being done carefully with wonderful concentration and attention to detail, which may impress authority figures. Advice from older people is also favored under this transit. Not the best day for relaxing, because it can be a little serious in its frame of mind. Also on the 4th the Moon in Scorpio in harmony with Mercury has people feeling chatty and having numerous conversations.

The 5th is 10 – Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: manifestation through planting seeds and making new connections, while Venus in Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn bringing an atmosphere of passion, intensity, and expression with less filtering, be careful not say things you will regret later. Folks may seek the advice of older people (Capricorn) regarding relationships or money (Venus). Venus in harmony with Pluto combines love and death, so this could be a time when we hear from an ex-lover or have the desire to contact a partner from our past. This transit deepens our emotions and brings more focus on our friendships. It also intensifies love relationships and interpersonal bonds, and can take sexual experiences to a whole new level. A new relationship begun under this influence may feel "fated." Also on the 5th Mars squares Jupiter, which brings energy for successful activities and furthering new projects, with a caution against being reckless during this surge of unbridled desire. Folks will be tempted to shoot first and ask questions later, acting quickly without considering all the factors. Unjustified optimism that our efforts today will "turn into gold" may unbalance our judgment. Through planning and fore thought we may find success, but it will not come about based solely on luck. This transit is future oriented, and good for furthering new projects, just avoid overextending yourself or your resources. There is also a fondness for taking risks and pushing beyond normal limitations of energy, impulsivity now will be paid for in the future, which may be less than pleasant, or it may result in accidents at this time. Also on the 5th the Sagittarius Moon in harmony with Jupiter has people feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness.

October 6th is 11 – Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: resolution through being flexible, with the Moon in Sagittarius challenged by Neptune, merges with Saturn, and harmonizing with the Sun, which changes from bringing our dreams into the day's vibration, to later wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings, and finally feeling balance between our inner and outer worlds.

The 7th is 12 – Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: understanding through releasing what no longer serves us, while Mercury enters Libra which is about rational balanced thinking and communication. People will be more inclined to make decisions by listening to the pros and cons. Fairness is important while Mercury is in Libra. Sometimes this weighting of options turns into indecision. Mercury is social in Libra and does not wish to stir up controversy, so I'd expect to have more friendly and possibly sympathetic conversations with others over the next 17 days. Folks are more likely to speak tactfully, seek peaceful solutions, and diplomacy regarding relationships. Also on the 7th the Sun squares Pluto, which begins a tense time period when the Libra Sun squares Pluto in Capricorn which brings powerful forces that test us from within and without. These tests may lead us to make radical changes in some area of our life that is not working very well. This can be very beneficial for letting go of the old patterns or behaviors that come up for examination at this time. Holding on to what is not working will just make life more difficult. This transit also indicates that persons in authority may demand that we account for our actions or even ourselves. Some people will abuse the power they are wielding under this influence. Also this indicates a breakdown of situations and machinery. No matter what your experience something will make you aware that it needs fixing, and my advice is to fix it whether it's a machine, a relationship, a behavior, or pattern that no longer works. Also on the 7th the Moon finds support from Uranus, and challenged by Mercury which shifts from having a desire for emotional excitement to engage in activities outside our daily routine, to later folks being critical in their communications particularly with the people they have intimate relationships with.

October 8th is 13 – Manik "man-eek" or Deer: movement to the next stage through being of service to others, while the Capricorn Moon challenged by Jupiter, merging with Mars and Pluto, and harmonizing with Neptune, which moves from having benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment, to later experiencing irritable moods and critical communications, followed by having greater sensitivity to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open, and finally we have more intense moods rising to the surface from deep in our psyches.

So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Eagle trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
