Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for September 13th to September 25th 2016

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of September 13th 2016 and 1 – Ik "eek" or Wind in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Pisces Full Moon and lunar eclipse, Mercury turning direct, the Sun entering Libra for the Equinox, and Venus entering Scorpio.

September 13th is 1 – Ik "eek" or Wind carries the themes of air, breath, life force, prana, chi, that which animates life, inspiration, imagination, the spark of creativity and spirit, communication, and the dissemination of seeds and ideas. The day glyph for wind is a T shaped cross that represents the Mayan god of wind but is also symbolic of trees which restore the life energy to the air. This thirteen day period would be a good time to communicate your inspiration and connect with the life force that makes you unique. An interesting item of note about the Wind trecena, which is associated with communication, is that the planet that is associated with communication, Mercury, is slowing down and is at the peak of its power as it stops prior to turning direct on the 22nd.

Before I get into the daily energy for 1 – Ik "eek", on the 13th all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth, except Mercury, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto which appears to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes being played out. Mercury retrograde in Virgo until the 22nd would be a good time to avoid signing contracts or other legal papers, making any major purchases, or even taking a new job. If you can postpone these types of activities the terms will be much clearer after Mercury is moving direct. That may seem impossible, so if you can avoid these activities a few days before and after Mercury changing directions on the 22nd, when the energy is at its most potent, would be beneficial. Mercury retrogrades force us to slow down and pay more attention to our lives by making us focus on the details of our daily experience. When looking at a retrograde cycle of any of the personal or inner planets, it provides information about a correction to our present course. Chiron retrograde has us reviewing our wounds so that they can be released, by having the courage to open our hearts to any fear or pain associated with our past. If you find yourself recalling painful events or situations between now and when Chiron turns direct November 30th, it is advisable remain conscious while dealing with these uncomfortable feelings as they will reveal the path to healing and letting go of what no longer serves a purpose in our upcoming journey. Uranus in Aries retrograde, is seeking to shake our very foundation through the unexpected rebellion of the individual. Uranus in Aries will have people wanting to hurry the process of getting free. To push the river of revolution whether it be personal or political. Uranus in astrology forces us outside our comfort zone so we have to look for possibilities "outside the box." This is about unplanned experiences that disrupt our perceived and planned life path in order to move us forward in our spiritual evolution, individually and globally. Neptune retrograde is seeking transcendence through spiritual experiences. This will be a time to use spiritual practices to keep us grounded as we expand our intuition and consciousness. Both Neptune and Pisces, the sign it rules, tend to be dreamy, imaginative, difficult to nail down due to their qualities of illusion and illumination often without any way to know which is which. They represent compassion and co-dependence, selflessness and loss of self, higher purpose and substance abuse, in their inspiration to transcend the material plane and experience something beyond words and thoughts. Pluto the planet of transformation through a death and rebirth cycle, is retrograde, which is about reviewing the past, and is a time of releasing anything from the past that is a burden to our new path. Pluto represents death, completion, and in Capricorn, the breakdown of structures, to bring about transformation.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
September 13th is 1 – Ik "eek" or Wind: unity experienced through communication in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, while the Sun squares Mars which is a day when we are more conscious of ourselves and our motivations. This could be a day where we observe serious ego conflicts between people. Folks will be looking for vulnerabilities in others, flaws in arguments, any errors which can be challenged, or any other chink in the armor of the other. This is a high energy transit, perhaps too high if we're not careful. So watch for signs of people becoming irritable or impatient, especially when things don't go exactly as planned. Probably it's best to avoid being assertive unless it's absolutely called for. This is also a time where people are projecting their irritability and aggression on others without realizing that it's originating within themselves. A day to be particularly careful of conflict with authority, even if our claims are legitimate, we are likely to encounter a hostile reaction during this transit. It would be good to vent this energy into some type of physical activity that will give your aggressions a satisfactory outlet. Without an outward expression this type of energy can lead to illness or accidents, or if projected will attract angry and difficult people. Also on the 13th the Aquarius Moon harmonizing with Saturn brings realistic expectations through being calm and reflective.

The 14th is 2 – Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: duality experienced through contemplating the stars, while the Sun opposes Chiron which illuminates our deepest wounds through the opposition from the Virgo Sun and Chiron in Pisces, bringing forward health, organization, and service consciousness to heal and bring spiritual liberation. Also on the 14th Mars squares Chiron which challenges us to look at and feel the pain of past wounds related to sex and aggression, so that experienced consciously healing can occur. These Chironic alignments lead us toward the Pisces Full Moon and lunar eclipse on the 16th. Healing is highlighted in the Full Moon chart. The past cannot be ignored during this time of fruition. Also on the 14th the Moon in Aquarius finds support from Venus, and harmonizes with Mars and Uranus, which influences the day’s emotional energy as it shifts from pleasant feelings and social interactions, to later brings the desire to work independently from others, and finally pleasant yet restless feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the daily routine.

September 15th is 3 – Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: taking action through planting seeds and making new connections, while the Pisces Moon merges with Neptune, is challenged by Saturn, and harmonizes with Pluto, as the emotional frequency moves from feelings of empathy for those around us, including the possibility of clairvoyance and telepathic experiences for those of us who are sensitive by nature, to later people feeling lonely or isolated, and finally having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level.

The 16th is 4 Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: stability through being flexible, while we have the Pisces Full Moon which is a challenging full moon, with some very assertive and unexpected energy of the planetary alignments on the days following this lunation. Pisces represents the surrender to spirit in the emotional realm to be balanced with the practical aspects of living in the physical world. This is the harvest moon which leads to simplicity and attunement to what really matters. Are you happy with the results, for what you have sown over the past six months? The lunation is opposed by Mercury along with the Sun, and challenged by Mars. Square Mars which can have people feeling irritable which could lead to needless disputes. Opposed by Mercury will have some feeling a real conflict between feelings and reason and others having fruitful expressions of their deeper awareness either internally or with another. Full moons bring tension between the Moon, in Pisces pulling us to explore otherworldly realms, and the Sun, in Virgo which wants a grounded and organized in way of being in this world. Grounding rituals will help assimilate the spiritual and healing influences of this lunation. The penumbral eclipse will be difficult to see as the Moon becomes only slightly less visible. This may be very challenging for folks with planets at the 22 to 26 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. To the Native American tribes this is the Full Harvest Moon or Full Corn Moon when corn was harvested. It was a time of working late under the light of the full moon to pick crops before the frost in Northern North America. This is the time Native Americans harvested corn, pumpkins, beans, rice, and squash.

September 17th is 5 – Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: empowerment through releasing what no longer serves us, with Mars trines Uranus, which brings new activities and encounters, some occurring quite unexpectedly, that are exciting and have the potential for personal growth. People will want to break out of the daily routine, with personal inhibitions reduced, expect folks to engage in activities that they desired, yet didn't have the courage for before. Risk taking under this influence will give a greater sense of being alive, but also may have unexpected unpleasant consequences if things don't work out just right. This can be used to break down barriers in our lives without having to impulsively destroy everything we see as a restriction. This alignment supports taking action to bring about change. This could be shocking to those who resist or are otherwise inflexible. Also on the 17th the Aries Moon is opposed by Jupiter and supported by Saturn which changes from feelings of generosity, to later settling into a more sober and realistic view of life.

The 18th is 6 Manik "man-eek" or Deer: being in the flow through being of service to others, while Venus opposes Uranus, which can bring a sudden unexpected occurrence in a love relationship, which may not be negative. This can be unusual, and stimulating, but also destabilizing. People will be driven to have exciting activities and experiences. The routine in relationships will not be satisfying today, and unresolved tension in love relationships may cause a rupture in the pairing. Relationships that begin under this influence will provide a break from the mundane, but may not be long lasting. Since Venus also rules money this could also indicate an unexpected change in the financial markets. Also on the 18th the Moon in Aries is challenged by Pluto, merges with Uranus, opposed by Venus, and supported by Mars which shifts from having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run, to later people feeling impulsive and acting rashly, with moods changing quickly and unexpectedly, followed by pleasant energy for enjoying sensual experiences and rich food with a caution against overindulgence, and finally brings the energy for asserting ourselves in a positive manner and standing our ground if necessary.

September 19th is 7 Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit or Venus: reflection through being grateful for abundant relationships, with Venus sextiles Mars, which favors love relationships and the formation of friendships. This brings balance between being self assertive and the desire to relate to others. In romantic or sexual relationships this comes about through a "give and take" process and in friendships we encourage others to be their selves by being authentic ourselves. This also brings action (Mars) to creative projects (Venus). Over all it is a drive to beautify. A great day to be with others at a party, or a night "out on the town" with the energy for lively interactions, particularly with the opposite sex. This is also good for investments in something new and unique. Also on the 19th the Taurus Moon harmonizing with Neptune brings greater sensitivity to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open.

The 20th is 8 – Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: balance through appreciating creation, with Mercury trine Pluto which can bring concern about the deeper issues in life. This has people wanting to dig below the surface to uncover mysteries. On a personal level this can be excellent for inner work, so it might be a good day for some "alone time" to discover some of the deeper dimensions of your psyche. Communications may seem rather serious and profound. Thoughts will be more focused and gain insights about important developments. Since Mercury is at a standstill or stationed this alignment is active for most of the week and is exact again on the 23rd, which means it is also significant in the equinox chart. Also on the 20th the Moon in Taurus finds support from Pluto, Mercury, and the Sun which moves from bringing out intense emotions and stimulating sensitivity, which also favors sexual relationships, to later being more in touch with our feelings and able to share them with others, and finally feeling a sense of inner harmony which is mirrored in the outside world.

September 21st is 9 – Oc "awk" or Dog: patience experienced through enjoying family and friends, while the Gemini Moon finds support from Jupiter, is challenged by Neptune and opposed by Saturn which changes from people having a pleasant sense of wellbeing, to later daydreams and fantasies feeling more important than reality, and finally feeling lonely and isolated.

The 22nd is 10 – Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey: manifestation through creating something new, while the Equinox brings Fall in the North and Spring in the South, as the Sun moves into Libra which is the sign of the Sun's fall, which means that the Sun is debilitated in the sign of the scales. Equinox and solstices astrology charts give us insight to the coming season and this one has the Sun conjunct Jupiter which is very good energy both physically and psychologically. It's very optimistic and expansive. As mentioned earlier Mercury trine Pluto is bringing our thinking and communications to explore our depths. Mercury is also part of a mutable grand cross opposing Neptune and squaring Saturn and the Gemini Moon. We’ve been discussing the Saturn Neptune square as it has been dissolving reality and structures, and in the Equinox chart Mercury just a few hours direct adds confused thinking, with the Moon adding an emotional tension to the upcoming season. Venus is still in orb to sextile Mars and oppose Uranus, as they trine each other bringing excitement and unusualness to our sexual and love relationships, as the Moon is opposed by Mars and sextile Uranus bringing irritable and unpredictable emotions to the chart. Neptune is sextile Pluto casting a veil that deludes or inspires us to gain greater insights, from what was previously hidden and has the potential to empower, without knowing which is which. The upcoming season favors being flexible in our relationships as we may feel limited and confused by the activities in our communities and the collective. The Libra Sun conjunct Jupiter brings expansion and illumination to issues of justice and fairness. North of the Equator it is time to review the intentions we planted during the Spring Equinox. South of the Equator this is time to plant new intentions for the upcoming year. Also on the 22nd Mercury turns direct which at 14 degrees Virgo, which will bring forward the information that brings a new sense of our course correction to heading in the right direction. It will take Mercury a few day to build momentum, so patience is important until the messenger gets up to speed and we feel our lives moving in a forward direction. Also on the 22nd the Moon in Gemini is challenged by Mercury, stimulated by Uranus, opposed by Mars which shifts from folks being critical in their communications particularly with the people they have intimate relationships with, to later having pleasant yet restless energy that desires emotional excitement, and finally influences people to be more excitable and irritable which can cause problems in our personal lives.

September 23rd is 11 – Eb "eb" or Road: resolution through serving your community, while Venus enters Scorpio, which is the sign of its detriment because it's in the sign opposite of Taurus, which Venus rules. Planets in detriment are traditionally considered to have difficulty operating positively in these signs. Relationship issues will not be able to be suppressed while Venus is in Scorpio until October 18th. Venus in Scorpio emphasizes the passion and sexual energy in relationships. Scorpio, being ruled by Pluto, wants to feel a spiritual connection to the other, where it experiences surrender, death and rebirth, and transformation through love. Try to avoid being possessive during Venus's time in the sign of the scorpion. Also on the 23rd Mercury trine Pluto which can bring concern about the deeper issues in life. Also on the 23rd the last quarter Moon finds support from Venus and Neptune, and is challenged by the Sun and Jupiter which moves from enjoying pleasant feelings and social interactions, to later having challenges to following a daily routine, followed by benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment, and finally our innermost subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great for accomplishing much work.

The 24th is 12 – Ben "ben" or Reed or Corn: understanding through maintaining the home, with the Cancer Moon is opposed by Pluto, harmonizes with Mercury, and is challenged by Uranus which changes from brings deep emotions rising to the surface, to later being very social and having lots of conversations, and finally folks acting hasty and jumping to conclusions that may not be correct.

September 25th is 13 – Ix "eesh" or Jaguar: movement to the next stage through enjoying nature, while the Leo Moon challenged by Venus, and in harmony with the Sun and Jupiter which shifts from having pleasant energy for being with the others we want to know better, to later feeling balance between our inner and outer worlds, and finally brings good feelings and congenial social interactions.

So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Wind trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love.
