Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for March 4th to March 16th 2015

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of March 4th 2015 and 1 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Virgo Full Moon, Mercury entering Pisces, Saturn turning retrograde, and the seventh and final Uranus Pluto square.

March 4th for 1 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night which carries the themes of dreams, transitions from light to dark and dark to light, starry skies, subconscious thoughts, the void where nothing exists but there is all potential, the womb of creation, sanctuary, the underworld, stillness, introspection, dawn and dusk. The glyph for night is the owl, a creature of both the day and night. The 1 Night trecena is a great time to explore the dark parts in our lives and to realize that without darkness we cannot see the stars.

Before I get into the daily energy for 1 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night, on the 4th all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth, except Jupiter which appears to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes being played out. Jupiter retrograde in Leo brings a review of opportunities, faith, religion, beliefs and expansion. Leo is about leadership, creativity, drama, entertainment, and children. Mostly what I find with Jupiter retrograde, as with any retrograde cycle there is a review of the past, and with Jupiter what gets reviewed are missed opportunities.

March is a very significant month with the first Solar Eclipse of 2015, the Equinox, the final Uranus Pluto square and Saturn turning retrograde. Saturn appears to be slowing down at the opening of March prior to appearing to move retrograde or in reverse motion from the perspective of the Earth on March 14th at 4 degrees 55 minutes of Sagittarius. So during the beginning of this report period, Saturn is stopping and at the peak of its power. This Saturn retrograde is a little more complicated than most because Saturn begins its apparent reverse movement in Sadge, but eventually backs into the final degrees of Scorpio. Themes of Saturn in Scorpio are loss, depression, failure, fear, the shadow, betrayal, the stuff that goes deep. So the return to Scorpio for the last time until 2041 will bring us to make final decisions regarding the themes of the scorpion.  These can be very difficult and often painful decisions. For me following my strategy and authority from my Human Design chart has been an amazing tool in making any decision during this time of uncertainty, where the consequences of choice will effect years to come. Saturn in Sagittarius is different, it delays success until perseverance and patience are learned. Sagittarius themes are travel, education, adventure, expanding our horizons, and planning for upcoming festivities. Ruled by Jupiter, represents faith, confidence and abundance. Sagittarius resists responsibility and confinement, seeking to remain free. This brings more focus on discovering new ideas, philosophy, being at the right place at the right time and overall a quality of optimism. Saturn brings the details to the grand overview of Sagittarius. The proverb  “He who travels slowly, travels far and gets there safely” is a great description of Saturn in Sagittarius. Sadge rules higher education and Saturn brings hardship, so folks may find they are educated at the "school of hard knocks." With Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn moving out of mutual reception, we a likely to see more limitations on travel particularly to places where Ebola is present, as Pluto rules plagues. Saturn returning to Scorpio, mid-June to mid-September, slows the decay and collapse of governments, banks, and corporations (Pluto in Capricorn), moving back into Sagittarius September 17th, means that the mutual reception no longer protects those entities. Saturn will eventually square Neptune in Pisces which will further dissolve structures and rules.

Saturn entered into its retrograde shadow period on December 8, 2014 when it reached the point it will eventually turn direct at 28 degrees Scorpio, which brought us a period of time where we received information regarding our commitments that come up for review under Saturn's retrograde period from March 14th to August 2nd in 2015. This ultimately will yield a change in course regarding these themes during the period from August 2nd to November 8th. To understand how you will be personally impacted, look at the area governed by the house of your astrological chart that contains the arc between 5 degrees of Sagittarius and 28 degrees of Scorpio. For me that is my sixth house of health and service, so Saturn wants me to seriously work on how I can better serve people and make choices to increase health. Saturn is the roman counterpart to the Greek god Cronus. Something interesting about Saturn, he underwent a metamorphosis in his meaning in the pantheon of gods. Originally he was the god of generation, dissolution, plenty, wealth, agriculture, renewal and liberation, which are themes currently more associated in astrology with Jupiter, who is Saturn's son. Saturn's reign was depicted as a golden age of peace and plenty, and was associated with Roman festivals of feasting, free speech, gift giving and revelry, while with his consort Rhea. But when he was associated with the goddess who received bloodied weapons of enemies destroyed in war, Lua, we see the more familiar saturnian qualities of limitation and restriction. Saturn retrograde is a task master that demands we take responsibility to review our beliefs while in Sagittarius and our ethics while in Scorpio.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
March 4th for 1 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: unity experienced through contemplating the stars, with Venus trine Jupiter, conjunct Uranus and square Pluto. A very busy day for the planet of love, money, and socializing. Venus trine Jupiter, which is one of the best transits except for its short duration, as it brings ease, grace, and pleasant social interactions. As with any Jupiter Venus transit, this can bring laziness and self indulgent behavior. Most will experience this as a needed break from the "daily grind". This is great energy for social interactions, entertainment, and amusements. Romance and financial interests are favored under this transit, along with traveling or taking a vacation the begins at this time as it indicates that the journey will be fun, enlightening, and rewarding. Due to the low energy of this transit, this is not the best time to start any enterprise that requires a great deal of energy. Venus conjunct Uranus which brings a day that's full of surprises, and is wonderful for self expression in relationships, but we should be careful of unexpected disruptions in relationships if folks are feeling bored and routine. The energy merges the planet of money and love with the planet of the unexpected and independence, so the results could be shocking, but not necessarily bad. Someone who has been unable to free themselves from a horrible relationship may find the courage to leave. Someone may unexpectedly have a financial windfall or enter into an exciting new love connection, but we could also see the stock market or another financial system collapse. Basically with Uranus involved the results are unpredictable, and of course this is also being influenced by Jupiter and Pluto. Relationships begun under this type of transit are usually very exciting and unstable. Financial opportunities, likewise, could yield unexpected gains or losses. Venus square Pluto has us ramping up towards the final Uranus Pluto square. It intensifies our emotional experiences and expression. It also brings a few days that are more challenging for relationships, as it brings secrets out into the open. This is a time of being drawn into powerful love experiences that change our consciousness, at least for a time. This may bring changes to a relationship, that our only recourse is to surrender and accommodate the shift, which can be difficult because we crave stability in relationships, and at times like this relationships are anything but stable. Probably the best option is to hold loosely to those we love for a few days before and after the 4th. This could also be a time when we might hear from or contemplate contacting a former lover as Venus dances with Pluto. Venus, followed by Mars, activating the Uranus Pluto square brings energy where we see triggering of the larger cycle as we move toward the final challenge between the planet of liberation in the sign of the individual and the planet of transformation in the sign of structures. Venus, then Mars, makes these events of global upheaval, death and rebirth seem more personal. Watch for events related to the conflicts erupting and hidden power being exposed in both our personal lives and global politics. Also on the 4th the Virgo Moon is challenged by Saturn and opposed by Neptune which shifts from people feeling lonely or isolated, to later feeling sensitive emotionally but confused regarding the accuracy of what's being felt.

The 5th is 2 - Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: duality experienced through planting seeds and making new connections, while we have the Virgo Full Moon with the moon at 14 degrees 50 minutes Virgo, finding support from Pluto, and opposed by the Sun and Chiron. This is about finding balance between our surrender to spirit (Sun in Pisces) to be balanced with the practical aspects of living in the physical world (Moon in Virgo), with Pluto bringing out intense emotions and stimulating sensitivity, which also favors sexual relationships, and Chiron making us aware of our old wounds so they can be consciously healed. Mars conjunct the Lunar South Node during this lunation further emphasizes taking action to release something from the past. This Full Moon has karma written all over it, and in Virgo is about health, work and service, and discernment, organization, and discrimination. Also on the 5th the Sun sextiles Pluto which empowers us to make changes in our immediate environment and reform the aspects of our lives that have brought us unhappiness over time. Embrace the opportunities on the 5th that can be used for the improvement of the general good. This is good energy for cleaning up a situation that has become confused or disordered, such as getting clear on a difficult personal situation or even cleaning house. This also brings us deeper into our thoughts with a feeling that superficial aspects are no longer adequate. Investigations should be thorough, leaving no stone unturned. Subjects such as psychology, occult, yoga, and other transformative techniques are favored for study under this influence.

March 6th is 3 - Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: taking action through being flexible, while Moon in Virgo makes no angles and is void of course until moving into Libra, which does not favor major decisions or purchases, but is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences.

The 7th is 4 - Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: stability through releasing what no longer serves us, with the Libra Moon harmonizing with Saturn and opposed by Mars which moves from wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings, to later opposed by Mars which influences people to be more excitable and irritable which can cause problems in our personal lives.

March 8th is 5 - Manik "man-eek" or Deer: empowerment through being of service to others, while the Moon in Libra is busy harmonizing with Jupiter, being opposed by Uranus and Venus, challenged by Pluto, and supported by Mercury, which begins with feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness, followed by folks are emotionally excitable and impulsive, then having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run, later having pleasant energy for enjoying sensual experiences and rich food with a caution against overindulgence, and finally feeling in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others.

The 9th is 6 - Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: being in the flow through being grateful for abundant relationships, with Moon in Libra makes no angles and is void of course until moving into Scorpio, which does not favor major decisions or purchases, but is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences.

March 10th is 7 – Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: reflection through appreciating creation, with Mars trine Jupiter which has high energy for physical activities and growth of consciousness and knowledge. It brings forward movement through opening doors and opportunities that lead in the right direction. Physically this is high energy with positive feelings of being able to accomplish more work than usual. Some may feel lucky during this time period, but this transit brings the ability to act based on seeing the whole picture. This is very good for any activity to advance your own interests, but being conscious of our actions to avoid self-aggrandizement. Business is favored under this transit, as we may find ourselves blessed with insights that we don't normally have. Optimism and positive energy bring more favorable results if we find the need to take a gamble on an unknown venture. Also on the 10th the Scorpio Moon finds support from Neptune, is challenged by Jupiter, and in harmony with Pluto which begins with fantasies and daydreams distracting us from accomplishing routine tasks, then later having benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment, and finally having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level.

The 11th is 8 8 - Oc "awk" or Dog: balance through enjoying family and friends, with Mars conjunct Uranus and square Pluto continuing the growing intensity towards the final square of Uranus and Pluto in a few days. Mars conjuncts Uranus which can bring sudden upsets, rash behavior, and unexpected incidents like no other transit. Plans and making plans flies out the window without warning under this influence. This brings the desire to suddenly assert our freedom, which effects everyone in wanting to break free of all limitations. This can be a challenging time to interact with authority figures as people are likely to act impulsively and rashly. This could also indicate accidents are more likely due to carelessness and/or anger. The best way to use this energy is to get involved in some type of new and innovative project that you can channel the Martian energy into, especially if you can work alone as everyone will want to assert their individuality, which is not conducive for teamwork. Mars square Pluto on the 11th continues to ramp up the intensity leading into the seventh and final Uranus Pluto square. The 9th to the 16th being the peak of this expression of aggression, unexpected rebellion, and transformation. This would be a time to release Martian energy constructively through physical activities and exercise. This brings a showdown between patent octaves and co-rulers of Scorpio. This could be about transforming the world around you or having fierce disagreements and power struggles. It arouses ambition and the desire to get ahead with high energy to back the drive with action, usually with opposition coming from others. This can be ruthless and underhanded in dealing with anyone who is an obstacle to achieving the goal. Definitely a time to avoid dangerous people and places. Also on the 11th the Moon in Scorpio finds support from the Sun and is challenged by Mercury which shifts from having a sense of harmony within ourselves and supports any type of group activity and relationships with the opposite sex, to later folks being critical in their communications particularly with the people they have intimate relationships with.

March 12th is 9 - Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey: patience experienced through creating something new, while Mercury enters Pisces which brings our minds and communications into the realm of psychic revelations. While in Pisces it brings a time period with strong spiritual undercurrents and otherworldly realizations, but also great confusion. Also on the 12th the Sagittarius Moon merges with Saturn, is challenged by Neptune, and supported by Jupiter and Uranus, which moves from wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings, to daydreams and fantasies feeling more important than reality, followed by people having a pleasant sense of wellbeing, and finally having the impulse to engage in activities that make us feel more alive.

The 13th is 10 - Eb "eb" or Road: manifestation through serving your community, with the last quarter Moon in Sagittarius supported by Mars and Venus, and challenged by the Sun, which begins the day with having the energy for asserting ourselves in a positive manner and standing our ground if necessary, followed by challenges to following a daily routine, and finally enjoying pleasant feelings and social interactions.

March 14th is 11 - Ben "ben" or Reed or Corn: resolution through maintaining the home, while Saturn turns retrograde or appears as if it is moving backwards from our perspective on Earth, which begins reviewing past plans to look for practical solutions. This is no small task given the Sun, Mercury, Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, whose influence wants to flow, and are at a challenging square to Sagittarius where Saturn is changing direction. The overall energy of Saturn retrograde can cause stagnation and even break down what is in need of repair or weak. Themes for the next four and a half months are renovation, reconstruction, deconstruction and review of all forms of responsibility. Turning retrograde days before the final Uranus Pluto square, when Mercury will be squaring Saturn, indicates the potential for crisis, particularly with Mercury in a challenging angle to Saturn bringing limitation and loneliness to our thinking and negativity to communications. Also on the 14th the Capricorn Moon harmonizes with Mercury and Neptune which shifts from being very social and having lots of conversations, to later having greater sensitivity to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open.

The 15th is 12 - Ix "eesh" or Jaguar: understanding through enjoying nature, with the Moon in Capricorn challenged by Uranus and Mars, merges with Pluto, and in harmony with the Sun which moves from folks acting hasty and jumping to conclusions that may not be correct, while we have more intense moods rising to the surface from deep in our psyches, followed by people feeling irritable which could lead to needless disputes, then finally feeling balance between our inner and outer worlds.

March 16th is 13 - Men "men" or Eagle: movement to the next stage through seeing from a higher perspective, with Mercury square Saturn and Uranus square Pluto, the seventh and final time these Titans will clash until their oppositions beginning 2045. Mercury square Saturn transits which favors heavy mental contemplating that requires disciplined thinking, a sharper mind and higher standards for quality. But it also brings difficulty in communicating and being understood by others. Not the best time for any type of negotiations, with folks misinterpreting each other, so I'd delay business dealings for a day or two. This is also a time when people are more likely to withdraw and feel lonely. The gift of this passage is it increases our ability to think practically, but we also see the imperfections and flaws. This can be very serious in its pursuit of betterment, make sure you're honoring what is positive, so not to get overwhelmed by the many imperfections that are in view with this transit. We are very conscious of flaws, including our own, so we can use our critical eye to what should be changed to bring improvement. Older people may serve as teachers and mentors at this time. Also on the 16th Uranus squares Pluto, which brings the seventh and final exact square between Uranus and Pluto. The themes of revolution, transformation, tension between the material and spiritual worlds, upheaval, along with death and rebirth are particularly potent at this time. Acceleration of transformation related to the revolution and evolution is increasing exponentially. This is the peak of the energy for unexpected change as old ways, old structures are crumbling to prepare us for transformation. This is one of the undercurrents that will be most powerful during the final challenging square between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn at 15 degrees. These challenging angles between Uranus, the planet of disruption, revolution and unexpected change in Aries, the sign of the individual, challenging Pluto the planet of death and destruction but also rebirth, in the sign of Capricorn representing structures including governments and corporations, is the most powerful transit of our time. These two titans have had exact confrontations an amazing seven times between 2012 and 2015. Usually this type of transit occurs three or five times. Seven times is unusual and very intense.
When looking at the chart for the seventh Uranus Pluto square, I was struck by Chiron, the wounded healer at 17 Degrees Pisces forming a sextile to Pluto and semi-sextile to Uranus, so this square brings depth and intensity to our healing, which is a wonderful transformative force for releasing old wounds that have been an obstacle to freedom for humanity, from the decaying power structures. These Uranus Pluto squares have made us aware of the financial and political systems being slowly, and sometimes almost invisibly, compromised like a sand castle as the tide is coming in. Jupiter is a key player in the chart as the king of the gods in Leo opposes the Moon in Aquarius and supports and is supported by Mars and Uranus conjunct in Aries. Jupiter knows no limitations and its expansive quality adds fuel to the sudden upsets, and unexpected incidents with the Mars Uranus conjunction pushing people to assert their freedom and break free of limitations, with Mars involved this could become very aggressive and possibly violent. With the merging of Mars and Uranus squared by Pluto adds to the expression of aggression, unexpected rebellion, leading transformation of the decaying structures through fierce disagreements and power struggles. The Aquarian Moon opposed by Jupiter in Leo, has an emotional coolness to it as it wants to expand its innovative humanitarian effort as it sextiles Uranus and semi-sextiles Pluto. Saturn at a standstill as it begins it retrograde motion is influencing and being influenced by Mercury merged with Neptune in Pisces, which dissolves rules and structures and brings further confusion and misinformation to communications. The outcome of the final Uranus Pluto square may not be known for months after the actual event due to thinking and communicating being influenced by Neptune’s fog and Saturn’s limitation. I think the media will spin whatever story is presented and that story will be restricted in its scope to keep the masses ignorant. Venus is outside the chaos of the chart, as she makes no major angles to other planets emphasizes the feminine power to rise above the flames like a Phoenix in the final degree of Aries, ready to step into the sign of her rulership Taurus and ground the new beginning that emerges with the crumbling of the patriarchy as we move into the post Uranus Pluto square era.

Also on the 16th the Moon is challenged by Venus and in harmony with Saturn which moves from having pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones, to later having realistic expectations through being calm and reflective.

So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Night trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
