Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for October 12th to October 24th 2014

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of October 12th 2014 for 1 - Ahau "ah-how" or Sun in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Sun moving into Scorpio, Venus moving into Scorpio, and the Scorpio New Moon and solar eclipse.
October 12th 2014 for 1 - Ahau "ah-how" or Sun carries the themes of honoring ancestors, flowers, light, ascension, co-creation, unconditional love, enlightenment, opening up to new possibilities and beginnings, wholeness, and the awakening to miracles. I love that flowers is one of the symbols of Ahau, because the name Patanjali, the author of the Yoga Sutras, means one who casts flowers through time, which a quality of Ahau is the ancestors casting their wisdom through time. Ahau is considered to be one of the most sacred of days, because life would not exist on the Earth without the warmth and light of the Sun. Being both a wave and a particle, light transcends form. This 13 day period is about shining light on any uncertainty, honoring our ancestors, and taking time to purify our light to heal our spirits and Mother Earth.
Before I get into the daily energy for 1 - Ahau "ah-how" or Sun trecena, on the 12th all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth except Mercury, Chiron, Uranus, and Neptune which appear to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes being played out. Mercury retrograde from the 4th to the 25th would be a good time to avoid signing contracts or other legal papers, making any major purchases, or even taking a new job. If you can postpone these types of activities the terms will be much clearer after Mercury is moving direct. That may seem impossible, so if you can avoid these activities a few days before and after Mercury changing directions on the 4th and the 25th, when the energy is at its most potent, would also be beneficial. Mercury retrogrades force us to slow down and pay more attention to our lives by making us focus on the details of our daily experience. Chiron retrograde in Pisces is about releasing stuck emotional energy, so that we can return to the natural flow of life. Uranus in Aries is seeking to shake our very foundation through the unexpected rebellion of the individual. Retrograde Uranus in Aries will have people wanting to hurry the process of getting free. To push the river of revolution whether it be personal or political. Being an outer planet, Uranus creates events that we "respond" to. The inner planets effect us personally as individuals, but the outer planets change the landscape which effects us as a collective and as individuals within humanity. Neptune in its own sign of Pisces is seeking transcendence through spiritual experiences. This will be a time to use spiritual practices to keep us grounded as we expand our intuition and consciousness.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena. October 12th 2014 for 1 - Ahau "ah-how" or Sun: unity experienced through honoring the wisdom and memory of our ancestors in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, while the Gemini Moon harmonizes with Uranus and Jupiter, and finds support from Venus, which shifts from pleasant yet restless energy that desires emotional excitement, to later enjoying social interactions with others, and finally feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness. The 13th is 2 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile: duality experienced through nurturing new beginnings, while the Moon in Gemini is supported by the Sun and Mercury, and opposed by Mars. The days emotional energy begins with feeling a sense of inner harmony which is mirrored in the outside world, followed by people becoming more excitable and irritable which can cause problems in our personal lives, ten later feeling in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others. October 14th is 3 - Ik "eek" or Wind: taking action through communication, while Venus sextiles Jupiter, which brings feelings of contentment and benevolence. A very nice sense of being at peace with the world. Friendships benefit from generosity with activities engaged in at this time, becoming a fair exchange over time. This is also favorable for financial dealings, particularly foreign investments, or agreements related to medicine or legal matters. Friendships or romantic relationships that begin under this influence should be mutually beneficial. Also this is a very good day for getting together with friends and enjoying this lighthearted transit particularly engaging in some form of rest and recreation, and leaving the more serious or routine business for another day. Also on the 14th the Cancer Moon finds support from Neptune, is opposed by Pluto, and challenged by Uranus, which moves from fantasies and daydreams distracting us from accomplishing routine tasks, to later deep emotions rising to the surface, and finally people are likely to act hasty and jump to conclusions. The 15th is 4 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: stability through contemplating the stars, while the Sun sextiles Mars, which is great for taking positive actions and accomplishing all kinds of work. This is a high energy transit which is favorable for physical activities and overall health. A great day for a group project as it promotes working with others. People will feel in a self assertive mood today, and are not inclined to back down, so it would be wise to seek common ground when dealing with differing opinions. Also on the 15th the last quarter Moon in Cancer is challenged by Venus, the Sun, and Mercury, and supported by Saturn, which brings a busy day emotionally moving from having pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones, to having a sober realistic view of life, then we encounter challenges to our daily routines, and finally our moods influencing our ability to think rationally. October 16th is 5 - Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: empowerment through planting seeds and making new connections, while the Sun conjuncts retrograde Mercury which prior to turning retrograde Mercury appears to be way out in front of the Sun, then retrogrades back to conjoin the Sun, and then falls behind the Sun. Prior to mechanized warfare Generals would send their cavalry ahead of the infantry to scout out the enemy's location, find possible resources, as well as the lay of the terrain to move the troops with maximum efficiency, safety and to their strategic advantage. I like to think of Mercury when it is stretching out in front of the Sun as gathering intelligence to report back to our consciousness' during its conjunction to the Sun. Using these two markers connected with a rubber band, I am hoping to illustrate this pattern. When Mercury, represented by the black marker, is in front of the Sun, represented by the red marker, it becomes easier to be overwhelmed by the increase in new information that seems to have no place to be deposited. This can increase our anxiety and the sense of losing control. As Mercury retrogrades the tension decreases until it merges with the Sun, which occurs on October 16th, finding the destination for the intelligence it has gathered. Once behind the Sun, Mercury feels as though it is creating drag that retards the possibility of implementing the new data until it regains forward motion in its pursuit of the Sun on October 25th. This particular Sun conjunct retrograde Mercury in Libra brings information about partnership and decisions need to be made to move forward. The next day Mercury merges with Venus in which there may be communication to a loved one regarding moving your relationship in a new direction. Also on the 16th Mercury sextiles Mars, which brings a busy day with folks having more energy than usual for their own projects. This is a day where working for someone else's benefit does not inspire diligence but more likely resentment. If you can use the day to work on what's of interest to you, it will seem like a good use of all this energy. Since others are feeling the same way, plan on working independently of others. There is energy for convincing others of your point of view, but they also have the energy to convince you of their perspective. This might be a day to avoid people and conversations that could lead to arguments, because this has a competitive edge to it. We can be confident in our ideas and beliefs to initiate something that should be successful as long as we don't need others to bring it to fruition. Also on the 16th the Leo Moon makes no angles all day which is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences. The 17th is 6 - Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: being in the flow through being flexible, as Mercury conjuncts Venus, which stimulates our appreciation of beauty, whether it be art, poetry, music, people, or nature. In Libra people may be more likely to express love through aesthetics, being more romantic than sensual. This may influence to create the right trappings and ambience for romance, such as intimate candle lit dinners, a beautiful poem written for a lover, or some other charming way to express a special love for our partners. This is a merging of the mental and emotional realms within ourselves, so folks may experience concepts with emotions or express feelings in an intellectual manner. This is wonderful for creativity or any type of artistic expression. This transit can be favorable for financial and business dealings, along with scientific research by seeing patterns in the universe and appreciating them aesthetically. Also on the 17th the Moon in Leo finds support from Uranus and merges with Jupiter which shifts from having the impulse to engage in activities that make us feel more alive, to later good feelings and generosity towards others. October 18th is 7 - Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: reflection through releasing what no longer serves us, while Leo Moon harmonizes with Mercury, Venus, and the Sun, is challenged by Saturn, and finds support from Mars, which brings an emotionally busy day, starting with being very social and having lots of conversations, then people feeling lonely or isolated, later wanting to be with friends and the people we love, followed energy for asserting ourselves in a positive manner and standing our ground if necessary, and finally feeling balance between our inner and outer worlds. The 19th is 8 - Manik "man-eek" or Deer: balance through being of service to others, while the Virgo Moon is opposed by Neptune, and supported by Pluto which shifts from feeling sensitive emotionally but confused regarding the accuracy of what's being felt to later Pluto bringing out intense emotions and stimulating sensitivity, which also favors sexual relationships. October 20th is 9 - Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: patience experienced through being grateful for abundant relationships, while Venus sextiles Mars, which favors love relationships and the formation of friendships. This brings balance between being self assertive and the desire to relate to others. In romantic or sexual relationships this comes about through a "give and take" process and in friendships we encourage others to be their selves by being authentic ourselves. This also brings action (Mars) to creative projects (Venus). Over all it is a drive to beautify. A great day to be with others at a party, or a night "out on the town" with the energy for lively interactions, particularly with the opposite sex. This is also good for investments in something new and unique. Also on the 20th Mercury sextiles Jupiter, which brings our attention to the larger issues in life. Many will find their minds wandering to thoughts about the future, as our hopes and wishes are more important under this influence. This is also good for thinking about the overall patterns in our lives. This is optimistic and brings a positive attitude. This is also good for business negotiations, contract discussions, and commercial transactions, as well as any dealing with the law. Travel also benefits so this would be good energy to start a trip, or perhaps research some far off place you wish to visit. Religious and philosophical subjects seem more attractive for investigation at this time. Also on the 20th the Moon in Virgo is in harmony with Saturn and challenged by Mars which moves from having realistic expectations through being calm and reflective, to later people feeling irritable which could lead to needless disputes. The 21st is 10 - Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: manifestation through appreciating creation, while Libra Moon makes no angles all day which is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences. October 22nd is 11 - Oc "awk" or Dog: resolution through enjoying family and friends, while the Moon in Libra is challenged by Pluto, opposed by Uranus, merges with Mercury, and in harmony with Jupiter, which moves from having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run, to folks are emotionally excitable and impulsive, then later positive energy for integrating our thoughts and moods and finally feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness. The 23rd is 12 - Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey: understanding through creating something new, while the Sun enter Scorpio, bringing us into the peak of the season which is often keynoted as intensity and passion in this fixed water sign. The scorpion is known for endurance, and drive, but also for seeking to find a deeper purpose in life. Of course Halloween and its origin in the pagan holiday Samhain, are about seeing through the veil into the otherworld, mark the midpoint of Scorpio. For the next month the Sun casts more light on subjects such as death, rebirth, transformation, sex, regeneration, psychic experiences, anything that delves below the surface to explore the depths and mysteries, when transiting Scorpio. Also on the 23rd Venus enter Scorpio, which is the sign of its detriment because it's in the sign opposite of Taurus, which Venus rules. Planets in detriment are traditionally considered to have difficulty operating positively in these signs. Relationship issues will not be able to be suppressed while Venus is in Scorpio until November 16th. Venus in Scorpio emphasizes the passion and sexual energy in relationships. Scorpio, being ruled by Pluto, wants to feel a spiritual connection to the other, where it experiences surrender, death and rebirth, and transformation through love. Try to avoid being possessive during Venus's time in the sign of the scorpion. Also on the 23rd we have the Scorpio New Moon and solar eclipse stimulated by Mars and merging with Venus and the Sun. Eclipses are particularly powerful where they can be viewed, which will be over much of North America, North East Asia, and over the Northeast Pacific Ocean. There is something primordial about eclipses that even with modern knowledge of the event, they still stir some deep animal uncertainty within. In Scorpio, emotions and passions are intensified. New Moons bring the opportunity to set an intension for manifestation on the following full moon. Look to the house of your astrology chart that contains zero degrees 25 minutes Scorpio to consider what area of your life is being activated by this new moon. For me it is the fifth house of children and creativity, so I expect this cycle to provide new information about my creative process and perhaps my relationships with children. This new moon has great energy for a fresh start particularly related to spiritual commitment and transformation as we become more aware of our authentic inner selves. The planetary angles to this lunation are for the most part positive with the New Moon in harmony with Mars brings the desire to work independently from others and merging with Venus feels cheerful, warm, gregarious, and wanting to go out and socialize. This New Moon Solar Eclipse empowers us with new opportunities, environments, circumstances and situations. October 24th is 13 - Eb "eb" or Road : movement to the next stage serving your community, while Moon in Scorpio is supported by Neptune and in harmony with Pluto which shifts from our innermost subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great for accomplishing much work, to later having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level.
So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Sun trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
