Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for September 3rd to September 15th 2014

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of on September 3rd 2014 for 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Venus moving into Virgo, the Pisces Full Moon, and Mars moving into Sagittarius.
September 3rd 2014 for 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile carries the themes of beginnings, Mother Earth, protection and trust, nurturing, primordial energy, new opportunities and information, instincts, primal creativity, water-lily, abundance, the essence of nature, beauty, receptivity and growth. Much like other indigenous people who believed that the Earth was carried on the back of a turtle, the Maya believed that our planet was carried on the back of a crocodile who would nurture and protect all life forms. They believed that from this primal force humans received messages and feelings about our connection to Mother Earth. This thirteen day period would be excellent to spend time in nature and listen to the subtle messages from Gaia. With One crocodile, we begin a 260 day Tzolkin round which ends with 13 – Ahau on May 20th 2015.
This being the 1 - Crocodile trecena: unity through nurturing new beginnings and the beginning of a new Tzolkin round, I thought I would talk about the Tzolkin Calendar. Which Ian Lungold referred to as the personal calendar of the Maya. The Tzolkin is a 260 day calendar made of 13 galactic tones numbered 1 to 13 and 20 sacred sun signs. The combination of these two intensions were so important to the Maya, that their Day Sign was their first name, because it set their life's intension. For instance my Day Sign is 13 - Imix or Crocodile which is about moving to the next level through nurturing new beginnings. That's what I'm here to do. I ascend in consciousness through nurturing others to have new experiences. If you're interested, Mayan Majix is a great resource for all things Tzolkin, including my favorite the "Mayan Calendar and Conversion Codex." This diagram shows the 20 sacred sun signs. Each sign is colored to show its relationship to the four directions and four elements. We begin with Crocodile which is red representing east, fire, and birthing. Next is Wind in white connected to North, air, and the mind. Then Night is blue representing the west, water and endings, and Seed in yellow is aligned with the south, earth and the body. As we move around the wheel the pattern stays consistent, red, white, blue, yellow, red and so on. I find it interesting that each trecena ends with the same direction it starts with so the groupings of 13 days follow the same pattern 1 - Crocodile is red, followed by 1 - Jaguar white, followed by 1 - Deer blue, and 1 - Sun yellow. If you follow your personal Tzolkin you may know that every 65 days we experience "burner days" relative to our Day Sign. For instance I am 13 - Crocodile so I experience more intense growth opportunities on the days leading up to and including 13 - Crocodile, 13-Transformation, 13-Monkey, and 13-Wisdom, which likewise follows the pattern of red, white, blue, and yellow. The colored halos around the day signs and the squares that connect them are to demonstrate the five burner sets. I had a question about the Tzolkin: "Do we still feel the influences of the first day sign of the trecena for which the 13 day period is named, as strongly later in the cycle as we do in the first half of the trecena? Or is its influence adjusted by the procession of its internal signs?" I think both are true... The influence of Crocodile is the overall energy of this trecena but it's like hearing a hum when we first walk into a room, the longer we're in the room the more our ears hear the changing sounds and filter out the humming noise. If we listen closely on September 12th, we can still feel the influence of Crocodile along with hearing the dog's melodic howl. But that's just my opinion.
Before I get into the daily energy for the 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile trecena, on the 3rd all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth except Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto which appear to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Chiron retrograde in Pisces is about releasing stuck emotional energy, so that we can return to the natural flow of life. Uranus in Aries is seeking to shake our very foundation through the unexpected rebellion of the individual. Obviously this is a difficult time of upheaval, destruction, death, unexpected change, natural disasters, violence and war. Retrograde Uranus in Aries will have people wanting to hurry the process of getting free. To push the river of revolution whether it be personal or governmental. I think that this is the time of detaching (Uranus) to act as an unobstructed individual (Aries). Being an outer planet, Uranus creates events that we "respond" to. The inner planets effect us personally as individuals, but the outer planets change the landscape which effects us as a collective and as individuals within humanity. Neptune in its own sign of Pisces is seeking transcendence through spiritual experiences. This will be a time to use spiritual practices to keep us grounded as we expand our intuition and consciousness. This will be important energy to nurture as we are in the middle of four years of the challenging Uranus Pluto squares that have been affecting us as a collective and as individuals. Pluto represents death, completion, and in Capricorn, the breakdown of structures, to bring about transformation. Pluto in Capricorn is determined in exposing the darkness, destroying the old order, so that we can rise up like the Phoenix from the ashes to soar again. Capricorn is about large structures which includes banks, governments, corporations, and religions. This is a time of a cosmic course correction for the entire planet.
Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena. September 3rd 2014 for 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile: unity experienced through nurturing new beginnings in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Sun trine Pluto which brings the energy for very intense and powerful experiences, which can yield wisdom about the inner working of the world, but particularly related to our personal lives. This is a great day to begin any investigation or study. With Pluto we are talking transformation through what empowers us, so making these changes could lead to a sense of deep satisfaction. This energy is quite forceful so it's important that it be used for reforming ourselves or for the greater good. People may feel more empower under this transit to express themselves forcefully to make an impact. If you choose to use this energy to make an impression on someone, it should not be for ruthless or selfish reasons, but rather to for personal evolution and growth. This brings lot of energy to get things done that must be accomplished. Also on the 3rd the Moon finds support from Venus and is challenged by Mercury which shifts from enjoying social interactions with others to later folks being critical in their communications particularly with the people they have intimate relationships with. The 4th is 2 - Ik "eek" or Wind: duality experienced through communication, with the Capricorn Moon harmonizes with Neptune, merges with Pluto, finds support from the Sun, and is challenged by Uranus. The day begins with being very sensitive to the moods of others, then we have more intense moods rising to the surface from deep in our psyches, later feeling a sense of inner harmony which is mirrored in the outside world, and finally people are likely to act hasty and jump to conclusions. September 5th is 3 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: taking action through contemplating the stars, while Venus moved into Virgo which brings a level of caution to romance and socializing. This will be a time when people want to feel special in the eyes of their partners. For some reason this placement of Venus tends to promote scandal. This can also bring a love for the world at large rather than just one person. Also on the 5th the Moon in Capricorn harmonizes with Saturn and Mars which moves from wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings to later havings the desire to work independently from others. The 6th is 4 - Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: stability through planting seeds and making new connections, with the Aquarius Moon finds support from Mercury, is opposed by Jupiter, and harmonizes with Uranus. The day moves from feeling in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others, to later having feelings of generosity, and finally brings pleasant yet restless energy that desires emotional excitement. September 7th is 5 - Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: empowerment through being flexible, with the Moon in Aquarius challenged by Saturn and Mars which shifts from people feeling lonely or isolated, to later the potential for people to be irritable and have needless disputes. The 8th is 6 - Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: being in the flow through releasing what no longer serves us, while we have the Pisces Full moon is a more gentile full moon, although there are some very powerful planetary alignments on the days following this lunation. Pisces represents the surrender to spirit in the emotional realm to be balanced with the practical aspects of living in the physical world. This is the harvest moon which leads to simplicity and attunement to what really matters. Are you happy with the results, for what you have sown over the past six months? The lunation is opposed by Venus along with the Sun, which is pleasant energy for enjoying sensual experiences and rich food with a caution against overindulgence. Its merged with Neptune, the ruling planet of Pisces, which brings feelings of empathy for those around us, including the possibility of clairvoyance and telepathic experiences for those of us who are sensitive by nature. And it's in harmony with Pluto which brings out deep emotions that find their way to the surface and felt on a profound level. Moon is also conjunct Chiron, illuminating our wounds so they can be released and healed. Mercury is square Pluto in the chart which can bring out obsessive thoughts. Full moons bring tension between the Moon, in Pisces pulling us to explore otherworldly realms, and the Sun, in Virgo which wants a grounded and organized way of being in this world. Since the Moon is very close to the Earth being in orb of perigee, this is a Super Moon. September 9th is 7 - Manik "man-eek" or Deer: reflection through being of service to others, with Mercury square Pluto folks can be obsessing about some thought or idea, so it's important in conversations to be open to others' view points and not be forceful in getting others to agree with our beliefs. This may be a time where we experience one thought that dominates the day and leaves little room for anything else. This energy can easily provoke arguments over things that won't seem important in a few days. If you use this energy to explore your inner world, it can bring light to something that was hidden in the depths of our psyches. Great energy for studying subjects that deal with covert or hidden aspects, such as psychology, magic, or the occult, as well as meditation or yoga, to unveil other possibilities of human potential. Also on the 9th the Moon in Pisces finds support from Saturn and Mars which moves from having a sober realistic view of life, to later bringing the energy for asserting ourselves in a positive manner and standing our ground if necessary. The 10th is 8 - Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: balance through being grateful for abundant relationships, with Venus opposed Neptune and Mercury sextile Jupiter. Venus in tension with Neptune can be unrealistic with regards to love which can lead to disappointment. Folks are more likely to picture themselves as the unselfish and giving person in the relationship who makes all the sacrifices for their partner's betterment. This can bring out manipulative behavior to gain control over the other through using guilt and obligation. On a higher level, these are planet octaves so we might find tension between our personal love and our experience of unconditional universal love. This also brings the danger of being deceived in relationship. This is not a good transit to begin a relationship as access to the reality of relationships is distorted and will take time before viewing the relationship as on solid ground. It can also produce wonderful romantic experiences but don't expect them to last forever. Mercury sextiles Jupiter, which brings our attention to the larger issues in life. Many will find their minds wandering to thoughts about the future, as our hopes and wishes are more important under this influence. This is also good for thinking about the overall patterns in our lives. This is optimistic and brings a positive attitude. This is also good for business negotiations, contract discussions, and commercial transactions, as well as any dealing with the law. Travel also benefits so this would be good energy to start a trip, or perhaps research some far off place you wish to visit. Religious and philosophical subjects seem more attractive for investigation at this time. Also on the 10th the Aries Moon is challenged by Pluto, finds support from Jupiter, is opposed by Mercury, and merges with Uranus which brings a very active emotional day that moves from having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run, then having feelings of inner and outer equanimity, while some feeling a real conflict between feelings and reason and others having fruitful expressions of their deeper awareness either internally or with another, and finally people feeling impulsive and acting rashly, with moods changing quickly and unexpectedly. September 11th is 9 - Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: patience experienced through appreciating creation, while the Sun sextiles Saturn which is a great day for getting things done. It brings an orderly state of mind and a strong sense of self discipline. This is practical energy that is not interested in idealistic or abstract considerations that have no application in daily life. This favors all matters related to work or profession, with what is accomplished being done carefully with wonderful concentration and attention to detail, which may impress authority figures. Advice from older people is also favored under this transit. Not the best day for relaxing, because it can be a little serious in its frame of mind. Also on the 11th Moon in Aries makes no angles and is void of course until moving into Taurus at 9:17 pm EDT, which does not favor major decisions or purchases, but is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences. The 12th is 10 - Oc "awk" or Dog: manifestation through enjoying family and friends, with the Taurus Moon in harmony with Neptune, finding support from Venus and Pluto, and challenged by Jupiter which shifts from being very sensitive to the moods of others, then enjoying pleasant feelings and social interactions, later bringing out intense emotions and stimulating sensitivity, which also favors sexual relationships, and finally benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment. September 13th is 11 - Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey: resolution through creating something new, while Mars moves into Sagittarius and Mercury opposes Uranus. Mars in Sagittarius brings energy for long distance travel and studying subjects that inspire our "higher minds". Folks may feel a stronger sense of patriotism for a little over a month. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, so Mars is likely to take action around the themes of law, religion, philosophy, and higher education. With more energy for people who are inclined to do so, acting self-righteous, possible to the point of believing "might is right." Mercury is opposed by Uranus which is another example of planet octaves with Mercury representing personal thought and communication along with short distance travel and Uranus representing long distance travel, and transpersonal thoughts and communication. There is tension in this opposition as people will think and speak hastily. Important information may be overlooked as folks are too much in a hurry. This may leave them feeling scattered, nervous, and undisciplined. This could also be a time for "brainstorming" as people will feel mentally stimulated where they understand information much more quickly, whatever the experience, it will need to stand the "test of time" before we are clear. As with most transits involving Uranus, this favors new types of adventures and is repelled by the daily mundane routine. Also on the 13th the Moon in Taurus opposes Saturn and is supported by the Sun, which moves from feeling lonely and isolated, to later having a sense of harmony within ourselves and supports any type of group activity and relationships with the opposite sex. September 14th is 12 - Eb "eb" or Road: understanding through serving your community, with Venus trines Pluto which is a day when we might hear from or contemplate contacting a former lover. With Pluto involved this intensifies our emotional expression, as emotions come to the surface that can now be meaningfully expressed to your loved ones. This alignment deepens our emotions and can make relationships intense. It's quite likely people will feel love more strongly under this transit and express those feelings to the object of their affection. Sexual desires also increase under the Venus Pluto connection. This is not an intellectual experience, but rather love expressed through mind, body, and emotions. This transit can produce profound insights that reveal the inner workings of our relationships. Beginning a relationship during this transit indicates that the connection will feel quite intense as if being drawn together by some magical power. This can be a good relationship as long as the couple recognizes that the compulsive quality will wear off before the pairing solidifies into a long term relationship. This transit is great for artistic work because the emotional intensity characteristic can be harnessed in work that reveals the inner depth of the artist's soul. Also on the 14th the Gemini Moon is opposed by Mars, and challenged by Neptune, which opposed by Mars which influences people to be more excitable and irritable which can cause problems in our personal lives, then shifts to daydreams and fantasies feeling more important than reality. September 15th is 13 - Ben "ben" or Reed or Corn: movement to the next stage through maintaining the home, with the Last Quarter Moon in Gemini challenged by Venus and the Sun, in harmony with Jupiter and Uranus, and finding support from Mercury. A busy day emotionally, that begins with pleasant energy for being with the others we want to know better, then feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness, later pleasant yet restless feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the daily routine, then being very social and having lots of conversations, and finally brings challenges to following a daily routine.
So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Crocodile trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
