Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for June 17th to June 29th 2014

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of June 17th 2014 for 1 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with Mercury retrograding into Gemini, Chiron turning retrograde, the Sun entering Cancer for the Solstice, Venus moving into Gemini, and the Cancer New Moon.
June 17th 2014 for 1 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night carries the themes of dreams, transitions from light to dark and dark to light, starry skies, subconscious thoughts, the void where nothing exists but there is all potential, the womb of creation, sanctuary, the underworld, stillness, introspection, dawn and dusk. The glyph for night is the owl, a creature of both the day and night. The 1 Night trecena is a great time to explore the dark parts in our lives and to realize that without darkness we cannot see the stars.
Before I get into the daily energy for 1 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night, on the 17th all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth except Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto which appear to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Mercury turned retrograde on June 7th and will turn direct on July 1st, so this trecena would be a good time to avoid signing contracts or other legal papers, making any major purchases, or even taking a new job. If you can postpone these types of activities the terms will be much clearer after Mercury is moving direct. Mercury retrogrades force us to slow down and pay more attention to our lives by making us focus on the details of our daily experience. Saturn turned retrograde on March 2nd and turns direct on July 20th. Themes of Saturn in Scorpio are loss, depression, failure, fear, the shadow, betrayal. Saturn retrograde is a task master that demands we take responsibility to review the scorpionic themes such as motives, ethics, and intensions. If we have not been clear on these subjects we are likely to feel our burden is heavier than the load we had previously agreed to carry. Neptune turned retrograde on June 9th. Neptune in its own sign of Pisces is seeking transcendence through spiritual experiences. This will be a time to use spiritual practices to keep us grounded as we expand our intuition and consciousness. This will be important energy to nurture as we are in the middle of four years of the challenging Uranus Pluto squares that have been affecting us as a collective and as individuals. These squares between Uranus and Pluto will continue to shake our very foundation through the unexpected rebellion of the individual (Uranus in Aries) challenging the decaying power structure (Pluto in Capricorn). Obviously this will be a difficult time of upheaval, destruction, death, unexpected change, natural disasters, violence and war, so finding our own peace in our connection to spirit will be an important quality to cultivate now for the tumultuous road ahead. Pluto represents death, completion, and in Capricorn, the breakdown of structures, to bring about transformation. Pluto in Capricorn is determined in exposing the darkness, destroying the old order, so that we can rise up like the Phoenix from the ashes to soar again. Capricorn is about large structures which includes banks, governments, corporations, and religions. This is a time of a cosmic course correction for the entire planet.
We have Chiron turning retrograde during the Night trecena on the 19th. Chiron retrograde in Pisces is about releasing stuck emotional energy, so that we can return to the natural flow of life. Chiron is the wounded healer in Greek mythology. He was a teacher, healer, and astrologer to the Gods. He was abandoned at birth because his mother objected to her son being half man and half horse, which was his first wound. When he was teaching Hercules to use Hydra's blood as poison, Hercules mistakenly hit Chiron in the leg with a poisoned arrow, but because Chiron was immortal he didn't die. He suffered the pain of his wounds every day of his life. Chiron eventually traded his life to have Prometheus released from his imprisonment for stealing fire and giving it to the human race. Retrograde Chiron has us reviewing our wounds so that they can be released, by having the courage to open our hearts to any fear or pain associated with our past. When Chiron is in Pisces people are willing to sacrifice their individual pain in hopes of finding bliss in Universal consciousness. At its worst this can manifest as folks justifying their victimhood as some form of martyrdom. This should be transcendence and surrender with losing ourselves in the experience. The last time Chiron was in Pisces was from 1961 to 1968,  which was also the time that Uranus and Pluto were merged in Virgo, planting the seeds for the squares between Pluto and Uranus that we are currently experiencing. At that time there was a growing drug culture, as people were looking for a shortcut to transcendence. The retrograde aspect brings a longing for lost loves and the memories of our losses, encouraging us to return to look at our core wounds and bring them to the surface so they can be healed. Another trap of Chiron in Pisces is codependent relationships where we focus on healing others rather than ourselves. Chiron will turn direct in November, so this time of exploring the depths of our psyche will be with us for months to come.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena. June 17th 2014 for 1 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: unity experienced through contemplating the stars, with retrograde Mercury returning to Gemini which is beneficial because Mercury rules Gemini. This is very fast energy that will speed up communications and interest in a wider variety of topics for the rest of the month and into July, when Mercury moves back into Cancer on July 13th. While in Gemini, Mercury brings spontaneity to socialization in life. In the context of the retrograde cycle I think of Mercury retracing it's steps back into Gemini to gather information that will be needed to support the tasks and projects that are aligned with the forward motion of Mars moving direct, which will be acting in concert with the peak numerological five month of July when Mercury is direct. Also on the 17th the Aquarius Moon is challenged by Venus, and finds support from the Sun and Mercury which begins with having pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones, then shifts to feeling a sense of inner harmony which is mirrored in the outside world, and finally feeling in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others. The 18th is 2 - Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: duality experienced through planting seeds and making new connections, while Venus sextiles Jupiter which brings feelings of contentment and benevolence. A very nice sense of being at peace with the world. Friendships benefit from generosity with activities engaged in at this time, becoming a fair exchange over time. This is also favorable for financial dealings, particularly foreign investments, or agreements related to medicine or legal matters. Friendships or romantic relationships that begin under this influence should be mutually beneficial. Also this is a very good day for getting together with friends and enjoying this lighthearted transit particularly engaging in some form of rest and recreation, and leaving the more serious or routine business for another day. Also on the 18th the Pisces Moon merges with Neptune, harmonizes with Pluto, and finds support from Saturn the shifts from feelings of empathy for those around us, including the possibility of clairvoyance and telepathic experiences for those of us who are sensitive by nature, to experiencing deep emotions on a profound level, then later we settle into a more sober and realistic view of life. June 19th is 3 - Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: taking action through being flexible, while the Sun conjuncts retrograde Mercury which prior to turning retrograde Mercury appears to be way out in front of the Sun, then retrogrades back to conjoin the Sun, and then falls behind the Sun. Prior to mechanized warfare Generals would send their cavalry ahead of the infantry to scout out the enemy's location, find possible resources, as well as the lay of the terrain to move the troops with maximum efficiency, safety and to their strategic advantage. I like to think of Mercury when it is stretching out in front of the Sun as gathering intelligence to report back to our consciousness' during its conjunction to the Sun. Using these two markers connected with a rubber band, I am hoping to illustrate this pattern. When Mercury, represented by the black marker, is in front of the Sun, represented by the red marker, it becomes easier to be overwhelmed by the increase in new information that seems to have no place to be deposited. This can increase our anxiety and the sense of losing control. As Mercury retrogrades the tension decreases until it merges with the Sun, which occurs on June 19th, finding the destination for the intelligence it has gathered. Once behind the Sun, Mercury feels as though it is creating drag that retards the possibility of implementing the new data until it regains forward motion in its pursuit of the Sun on July 1st. Also on the 19th Chiron turns retrograde and has us review our wounds so that they can be released, by having the courage to open our hearts to any fear or pain associated with our past. Also on the 19th the Last Quarter Moon in Pisces finds support from Jupiter, harmonizes with Venus, and is challenged by the Sun and Mercury which shifts from feelings of inner and outer equanimity, to wanting to be with friends and the people we love, then we encounter challenges to our daily routines, and finally our moods influencing our ability to think rationally. The 20th is 4 - Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: stability through releasing what no longer serves us, with the Aries Moon challenged by Pluto, opposed by Mars, and merges with Uranus. The day begins with having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run, then later opposed by Mars which influences people to be more excitable and irritable which can cause problems in our personal lives, and finally people feeling impulsive and acting rashly, with moods changing quickly and unexpectedly. June 21st is 5 - Manik "man-eek" or Deer: empowerment through being of service to others, while the Sun enters Cancer bringing the Summer Solstice in the north and the Winter Solstice south of the equator. The Sun in Cancer illuminates security and emotional wellbeing. If you planted intentions during the Equinox, how are they growing? Do you need to weed something out so that what you intended has more room to grow? The charts of the Solstices and Equinox have long been used to forecast the energy for the coming season. When I look at the chart I notice that the Cardinal Grand cross is moving out of orb, as Jupiter and Pluto are no longer in opposition. Mars is now direct, activating the Uranus Pluto square which could bring more aggression and drive to the individual revolutionary upheaval against the decaying power structures. Without Jupiter in the picture, we no longer have an upside to this difficult transformation through the unexpected, death and rebirth, coupled with aggression. The tightest angle between planets is a 30 degree semi-sextile between Venus in her sign of Taurus and Mercury in his sign of Gemini, which is outside the drama of the rest of the chart, and confers a sense that our chosen relationships are unaffected by the upheavals outside of our personal environments. A positive trine between Chiron and Saturn, both retrograde, indicates the next few months will be a time of reviewing our past limitations and the wounds associated, to be released as healing by the fall. What we see is that during the upcoming season, we will experience a polarity between the global and outer world going to hell in a hand basket, while we find solace and support in our local communities and personal relationships. Also on the 21st the Moon in Aries is challenged by Jupiter and harmonizes with Mercury which shift from benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment, to being very social and having lots of conversations. The 22nd is 6 - Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: being in the flow through being grateful for abundant relationships, with the Taurus Moon in harmony with the Sun and Neptune, and finds support from Pluto which moves from feelings of inner and outer equanimity, to later greater sensitivity to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open, and finally Pluto bringing out intense emotions and stimulating sensitivity, which also favors sexual relationships. June 23rd is 7 - Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: reflection through appreciating creation, with Venus entering Gemini which brings a chatty superficial quality to social interactions. Venus in Gemini can bring a carelessness to spending money for the rest of June and into next month, before moving into Cancer July 18th. Also on the 23rd the Moon in Taurus is opposed by Saturn, and in harmony with Jupiter the energy shifts from feeling lonely and isolated, to later feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness. The 24th is 8 - Oc "awk" or Dog: balance through enjoying family and friends, with the Gemini Moon merging with Venus and challenged by Neptune which goes from feeling cheerful, warm, gregarious, and wanting to go out and socialize, to later daydreams and fantasies feeling more important than reality. June 25th is 9 - Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey: patience experienced through creating something new, while Mars is opposed by Uranus bringing stress for a few days before and after the 25th, with pressure to make radical changes, and with Mars involved I would not rule out aggressive or violent methods to bring about revolutionary transformation. Although Mars may appear to be "playing nice" in Libra, it may be expressed more through passive aggression rather than overt aggression. Like most oppositions there are two sides to this story. On one side and most commonly, this could be a time where people act out rashly against people who have oppressed or held them back in the past, or consistently angered them over time. The other side of this transit is to suddenly have the impulse to escape the obligations being imposed. Basically this comes down to fight or flight. Most frequently this signifies an explosive release of tension through an angry exchange, usually with people close to you. At very least folks will be experiencing a great sense of impatience. On the positive side we may find that our efforts to liberate ourselves from unnecessary and limiting situations starts to succeed, where we feel we are becoming free of those bonds. This is also time to take care, as accidents are more likely. With both Mars and Uranus moving direct there is momentum for major shifts to take place leading up to the new moon and beyond. Also on the 25th the Moon in Gemini in harmony with Uranus and finds support from Mars occurring 16 minutes apart so we have pleasant yet restless feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the daily routine, with feeling a little more confident than usual with the ability to assert ourselves in a positive manner. The 26th is 10 - Eb "eb" or Road: manifestation through serving your community, with the Gemini Moon merging with Mercury which is positive energy for integrating our thoughts and moods. June 27th is 11 - Ben "ben" or Reed or Corn: resolution through maintaining the home, while we have the Cancer New Moon. New moons are times of new beginnings and in Cancer is about shifting and changing of our families and home life to bring more security. New Moons bring the opportunity to set an intension for manifestation on the following full moon. Look to the house of your astrology chart that contains 5 degrees 37 minutes Cancer to consider what area of your life is being activated by this new moon. For me that would be my first house of self, the body, style, dispositions, mannerisms, and outward behavior, so I would set an intension related to using this energy. With Jupiter transiting Cancer for one more month, these themes will get an extra boost. The moon merges with the Sun, finds support from Neptune and is opposed by Pluto. The New Moon finding support from Neptune we may find our innermost subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great for accomplishing much work, and opposed by Pluto brings some of our deepest emotions rising to the surface to be examined and released in a way that leads to empowerment. This New Moon following two days after the Mars Uranus opposition may open a portal to move through another important shift leading in a new direction. The 28th is 12 - Ix "eesh" or Jaguar: understanding through enjoying nature, with the Cancer Moon challenged by Uranus and Mars, supported by Saturn, and merging with Jupiter, which moves from folks acting hasty and jumping to conclusions that may not be correct, to having a sober realistic view of life, then later the potential for people to be irritable and have needless disputes, and finally having good feelings and generosity towards others. June 29th is 13 - Men "men" or Eagle: movement to the next stage through seeing from a higher perspective, with the Sun trine Neptune which with Neptune's support of the Sun we are more idealistic and understand a more spiritual level of reality. This increases our sensitivity to the more subtler aspects of the world around us. This is good for spending time alone to engage in activities like meditation, yoga, working of art, music or any creative project. To explore the more spiritual levels of reality from an emotional and intellectual perspective. This great for studying metaphysical or spiritual subjects and looking at your life to consider how you are doing in meeting your needs spiritually and materially. Idealistic romanticism may be a factor in our relationships today. Particularly in combination with Venus square Neptune happening at the same time, we need to remain grounded in that our loved ones are ordinary humans. This transit increases sensitivity to the subtler aspects of reality, with people experiencing a flash of ESP or other types of mystical experiences.  Also on the 29th Venus squares Neptune which brings the interaction between a planet and its higher octave planet. Venus is personal love and Neptune is unconditional universal love. This alignment stimulates our romantic imaginations which can be somewhat unrealistic about love and social interactions. Daydreaming is common under this influence which could lead to artistic expression. The caution here is about expecting loved ones to live up to an impossible romantic ideal, and discovering that you're partnered with a mere mortal. Enjoy the fantasy, but recognize it is a passing phase, and not the reality to build a foundation on. Relationships begun under this influence may be based on fantasies that could lead to problems down the road, so experiencing a love connection made during this transit over a long period time before making a commitment. This can also damage existing relationships, if there are strong egos involved. Although mostly relationships that breakdown under this influence are not based in reality to begin with. Also on the 29th the Leo Moon harmonizes with Venus brings pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones.
So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Night trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
