Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for November 19th to December 1st 2015

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of November 19th 2015 for 1 – Akbal "awk-bol" or Night in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with Mercury entering Sagittarius, followed by the Sun entering Sagittarius, and the Gemini Full Moon, and Chiron turning direct

November 19th is 1 – Akbal "awk-bol" or Night with the themes of dreams, transitions from light to dark and dark to light, starry skies, subconscious thoughts, the void where nothing exists but there is all potential, the womb of creation, sanctuary, the underworld, stillness, introspection, dawn and dusk. The glyph for night is the owl, a creature of both the day and night. The 1 Night trecena is a great time to explore the dark parts in our lives and to realize that without darkness we cannot see the stars.

Since we begin a new Gregorian month during this trecena, I thought I'd discuss the metaphysics of the upcoming month. December is the twelfth month and with the digits for 2015, when added together we get 11, then we add 1 + 1 to tell us that this is an eleven/two month in numerology, which brings a spiritual quality to the month. Basic numerology reduces numbers to one through nine, so when we think about that arc the 2 represents a time which brings increased contact with new people, relationships, and cooperative connections, but also highlights the need for balance. The numerology in January and February 2016 repeat November and December 2015 with January being a one month and February being a two month. The eleven/two combination is represented by the Lust/High Priestess tarot cards which is about being in our strength and in our bodies while experiencing our intuition, independence, self-trust, and self-resourcefulness. Richard Moss wrote in How Shall I Live: "To me, wholeness is the key to aliveness. It is more than just a physical vitality, it is radiance, coming from being at one with yourself and your experience. Life then flows through you and radiates from you" which is a nice description of the Strength/Lust energetic. The High Priestess could be described from this quote from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran, "For the self is a sea boundless and measureless." So December is a month to be in our bodies and radiance, that in turn empowers our sense of self, while we cultivate new connections with others.

Before I get into the daily energy for 1 Akbal "awk-bol" or Night, on the 19th all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth, except Chiron, and Uranus which appears to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes being played out. Chiron retrograde in Pisces is about releasing stuck emotional energy, so that we can return to the natural flow of life. Retrograde Chiron has us reviewing our wounds so that they can be released, by having the courage to open our hearts to any fear or pain associated with our past. When Chiron is in Pisces people are willing to sacrifice their individual pain in hopes of finding bliss in Universal consciousness. At its worst this can manifest as folks justifying their victimhood as some form of martyrdom. This should be transcendence and surrender without losing ourselves in the experience. Uranus in Aries retrograde until December 25th. Uranus seeks to shake our very foundation through the unexpected rebellion of the individual. Retrograde Uranus in Aries will have people wanting to hurry the process of getting free. To push the river of revolution whether it be personal or political.

On the 27th Chiron turns direct. Chiron is the wounded healer in Greek mythology. He was a teacher, healer, and astrologer to the Gods. He was abandoned at birth because his mother objected to her son being half man and half horse, which was his first wound. When he was teaching Hercules to use Hydra's blood as poison, Hercules mistakenly hit Chiron in the leg with a poisoned arrow, but because Chiron was immortal he didn't die. He suffered the pain of his wounds every day of his life. Chiron eventually traded his life to have Prometheus released from his imprisonment for stealing fire and giving it to the human race. The last time Chiron was in Pisces was from 1961 to 1968, which was also the time that Uranus and Pluto were merged in Virgo, planting the seeds for the squares between Pluto and Uranus that we experienced over the past 4 years. At the time Chiron was last in Pisces, there was a growing drug culture, as people were looking for a shortcut to transcendence. The retrograde aspect brings a longing for lost loves and the memories of our losses, encouraging us to return to look at our core wounds and bring them to the surface so they can be healed. Another trap of Chiron in Pisces is codependent relationships where we focus on healing others rather than ourselves. Chiron turning direct in November, brings healing energy from being an internal process to experiencing it externally as well.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
November 19th is 1 – Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: unity experienced through contemplating the stars in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, while the First Quarter Moon is challenged by the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn, and merges with Neptune, which shifts from having challenges to following a daily routine, to our moods influencing our ability to think rationally, followed by people feeling lonely or isolated, and finally feelings of empathy for those around us, including the possibility of clairvoyance and telepathic experiences for those of us who are sensitive by nature.

The 20th is 2 – Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: duality experienced through planting seeds and making new connections, while Mercury enters Sagittarius, which ushers in an optimistic and expansive view of life, a sense of faith, and seeing the big picture. This brings almost three weeks when people prize freedom of expression and find censorship less bearable. This also brings a restlessness to our thoughts as we might find ourselves dreaming about exploring different cultures and longing to travel. Education is also favored under Mercury in Sagittarius, whether it's through reading, exploring new ideas, or learning about other people. Followed by the Sun in the sign of the happy wanderer on the 22nd, they work together on similar goals with a new sense of purpose. Also on the 20th Venus squares Pluto, which intensifies our emotional experiences and expression. It also brings a few days that are more challenging for relationships, as it brings secrets out into the open. This is a time of being drawn into powerful love experiences that change our consciousness, at least for a time. This may bring changes to a relationship, that our only recourse is to surrender and accommodate the shift, which can be difficult because we crave stability in relationships, and at these times relationships are anything but stable. Probably the best option is to hold loosely to those we love for a few days before and after the 20th. This could also be a time when we might hear from or contemplate contacting a former lover. Also on the 20th the Pisces Moon harmonizes with Pluto and opposes Jupiter which moves from having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level, to later having feelings of generosity.

November 21st is 3 – Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: taking action through being flexible, while the Moon finds support from the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn, and is opposed by Mars, which shifts from feeling a sense of inner harmony which is mirrored in the outside world, to later feeling in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others, followed by people to be more excitable and irritable which can cause problems in our personal lives, and finally having a sober realistic view of life.

The 22nd is 4 – Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: stability through releasing what no longer serves us, with the Sun enters Sagittarius which illuminates travel, education, expanding our horizons, and planning for upcoming festivities. This begins a month with more of a focus on discovering new ideas, philosophy, being at the right place at the right time and overall a quality of optimism. Also on the 22nd the Aries Moon is challenged by Pluto, opposed by Venus, and merges with Uranus, which moves from having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run, followed by pleasant energy for enjoying sensual experiences and rich food with a caution against overindulgence, and finally people feeling impulsive and acting rashly, with moods changing quickly and unexpectedly.

November 23rd is 5 - Manik "man-eek" or Deer: empowerment through being of service to others, while Venus opposes Uranus, which can bring a sudden unexpected occurrence in a love relationship, which may be positive. This can be unusual, and stimulating, but also destabilizing. People will be driven to have exciting activities and experiences. The routine in relationships will not be satisfying today, and unresolved tension in love relationships may cause a rupture in the pairing. Relationships that begin under this influence will provide a break from the mundane, but may not be long lasting. Since Venus also rules money this could also indicate an unexpected change in the financial markets. Also on the 23rd the Taurus Moon harmonizes with Neptune which brings greater sensitivity to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open.

The 24th is 6 – Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: being in the flow through being grateful for abundant relationships, with Mars sextiles Saturn, which is great for projects that require diligence and planning. Saturn gives focus to Mars' high energy, so this is not flamboyant like some other Martian alignments. This is a great energetic for a sustained effort particularly on tasks that require attention to detail. This is a day of putting effort towards a goal that will be fulfilled in the future. It's practical and does not mind deferring the results to another day. This gives people discipline and self restraint, as long as the gratification of the day's labor is not delayed indefinitely. Also on the 24th Mercury conjuncts Saturn in Sagittarius. Mercury conjunct Saturn makes folks cautious. On the positive side we are more precise in our thinking, and detail oriented in our communication. If you previously outlined a general plan, this allows you to fill in the details. Critical thinking is very sharp and can see flaws in any argument including our own. This transit can be an obstacle for seeing the big picture. We can see the distinction of the different trees but not the forest. At worst this can create difficulty in communication, because we may be afraid to reveal something, so we say nothing due to negative thinking that often accompanies this transit. This is the time to speak up because what is not expressed can injure someone. Also on the 24th the Moon in Taurus finds support from Pluto and Jupiter which shifts from bringing out intense emotions and stimulating sensitivity, which also favors sexual relationships, followed by people having a pleasant sense of wellbeing.

November 25th is 7 Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: reflection through appreciating creation, with the Gemini Full Moon opposed by the Sun and Saturn, which underscores the theme of learning, and challenged by Neptune, where daydreams and fantasies feeling more important than reality. The Sun in Sagittarius are seeking an education and travel to learn the truth that gives life meaning. The Gemini Moon is  curious and seeks to gather information that may have value in the future. So you may want to seek answers to the important questions in your life under this influence. Full moons are a time of tension as the Sun in Sagittarius is about balancing freedom to explore through experience with having perspective to gather information for intellectual pursuits, represented by the Moon in Gemini. Mercury is the ruling planet of Gemini and make two angles during the Full Moon. Also included in this full moon is the first Saturn square Neptune which brings confusion as structure and discipline is challenged by impulse, illusion, and illumination, without clarity of which is which. The mind (Gemini) seeks to learn and gain wisdom from the Saturn Neptune interaction. Also on the 25th Mercury squares Neptune, which can confuse communication but also favors creative and spiritual activities. Watch out for exaggeration and boasting, and some will cross over into outright lying. Mercury is also thinking, and in aspect to Neptune for a day or so we have potential for confusion about the details of mundane daily events, but a wonderful potential to connect with spiritual realms through being in nature and engaging in inner work. Overall it's best to carefully formulate exactly what you wish to communicate, because if it could be misunderstood, it probably will. Daydreaming is to be expected under this influence. Not a great day for negotiations or signing contracts as these activities will not be clear under the Neptunian fog. Also on the 25th Mercury sextiles Mars, which brings a busy day with folks having more energy than usual for their own projects. This is a day where working for someone else's benefit does not inspire diligence but more likely resentment. If you can use the day to work on what's of interest to you, it will seem like a good use of all this energy. Since others are feeling the same way, plan on working independently of others. There is energy for convincing others of your point of view, but they also have the energy to convince you of their perspective. This might be a day to avoid people and conversations that could lead to arguments, because this has a competitive edge to it. We can be confident in our ideas and beliefs to initiate something that should be successful as long as we don't need others to bring it to fruition.

The 26th is 8 Oc "awk" or Dog: balance through enjoying family and friends, with Saturn squares Neptune, which brings uncertainty and confusion blurring the details of everyday life. The best way to cope is to make life as simple as possible. Folks will be questioning all aspects of their lives, their ambitions and goals, and whether they are attainable even whether they are worthy of those pursuits. Neptune has them question whether the universe is against their achieving their ideals. This can be a time of insecurity, pessimism, disappointment, and discouragement. The world we believe is grounded in reality is changing as structures dissolve, rules vanish, and people question what they thought they could depend on, as what once seemed solid is washed away. Neptune can bring disillusion and the desire to disconnect through substances to avoid the Saturnian hardship. The other way this may work out is the dreams, represented by Neptune, could over time with effort, become reality represented by Saturn. The Neptune Saturn squares will blur limits, boundaries, structures, laws, security, responsibilities, oppression, and government. Just remember this is temporary and try not to let negative thinking undermine your hopes and dreams, this will eventually lead to a very constructive period based on the upon the new understanding that comes about through this process. Also on the 26th the Moon in Gemini is opposed by Mercury, harmonizes with Uranus, challenged by Jupiter, and supported by Venus, which moves from some feeling a real conflict between feelings and reason and others having fruitful expressions of their deeper awareness either internally or with another, to later having pleasant yet restless feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the daily routine, followed by benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment, and finally enjoying pleasant feelings and social interactions.

November 27th is 9 – Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey: patience experienced through creating something new, while Chiron turns direct which helps us implement changes to our lives to promote healing the wounds we became aware during Chiron's retrograde cycle which started last June. Also on the 27th the Moon in Gemini makes no angles and is void of course until moving into Cancer, which does not favor major decisions or purchases, but is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences.

The 28th is 10 – Eb "eb" or Road: manifestation through serving your community, with the Cancer Moon supported by Neptune, challenged Mars and Uranus, and opposed by Pluto, which shifts from fantasies and daydreams distracting us from accomplishing routine tasks, to later people feeling irritable which could lead to needless disputes, followed by deep emotions rising to the surface and finally folks acting hasty and jumping to conclusions that may not be correct.

November 29th is 11 – Ben "ben" or Reed or Corn: resolution through maintaining the home, while the Sun interacts with Neptune Saturn square shinning its light of the dance between discipline and planning, and confusion and mystery. Sun squares Neptune, which brings a low energy day which seems to take more energy to complete the normal daily tasks. If possible this would be a day have a lighter schedule and more time for rest. Some will feel a little beaten down by this transit, so this is not a good day for work that requires courage or great self confidence. Don't get discouraged, this energy only lasts a day. The Sun is challenged by Neptune obscuring clarity and focus, and can feel like a low energy day, but also illuminates our creativity. Also on the 29th the Sun conjuncts Saturn, which brings more attention to our responsibilities, to do the tasks where we feel an obligation to others. What is accomplished today will have lasting significance, as the Sun merges with Saturn at 7 degrees Sagittarius illuminates boundaries and discipline in our lives. This can also bring new responsibilities. It usually brings low energy, so concentrate on what tasks need to be accomplished, and let what can wait for another day, wait for another day. Also on the 29th the Moon in Cancer harmony with Jupiter, and challenged by Venus, which moves from feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness, followed by pleasant energy for being with the others we want to know better.

The 30th is 12 - Ix "eesh" or Jaguar: understanding through enjoying nature, with the Leo Moon finding support from Saturn, and the Sun, and in harmony Mars, which shifts from settling into a more sober and realistic view of life, to later having a sense of harmony within ourselves and supports any type of group activity and relationships with the opposite sex, and finally brings the desire to work independently from others.

December 1st is 13 – Men "men" or Eagle: movement to the next stage through seeing from a higher perspective, with Mercury trine Uranus continues Mercury's dance through the sign of Sagittarius. Uranus is the higher octave planet to Mercury. Mercury being about our personal thinking and communicating, while Uranus is about transpersonal communing with something larger than ourselves. This is a very stimulating transit which raises conscious awareness and brings more of a love for life, a desire to seize the day "Carpe Deum". New ideas come quickly with solutions for a problem that has been perplexing, somehow available under this influence, after being unavailable in the days leading up to this time period. This energy is looking for a break from routine to go out and do something out of the ordinary. It favors studying a new topic, particularly astrology, science, math, technology and the occult. Expect some electric conversations under this influence. Also on the 1st the Moon in Leo supported by Mercury and Uranus, and in harmony with Venus, which moves from being more in touch with our feelings and able to share them with others, followed by a desire for emotional excitement to engage in activities outside our daily routine, and finally having pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones.

So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Night trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
