Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for June 16th to June 28th 2015

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of June 16th and 1 – Manik "man-eek" or Deer in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Gemini New Moon, the Sun entering Cancer, Chiron turning retrograde, and Mars entering Cancer

June 16th is 1 – Manik "man-eek" or Deer carries the themes of service, healing, protection and sacrifice, intuitive and instinctual knowledge, the four directions, shamanic energy, ritual dance, dignity, respect, and breaking free of limitations. The ritual Deer Dance symbolizes the sanctity and balance between people and nature. The energy of Deer is to rise up above the limitations of living a life only on the physical plane. This is a time to connect with spirituality though ceremony, dance, ritual and being in nature. It is also a time to find the strength to break free of anything limiting spiritual growth and healing.

Before I get into the daily energy for 1 – Manik "man-eek" or Deer, on the 16th all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth, except Saturn, Neptune and Pluto which appears to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes being played out. Saturn retrograde reviews our commitments, plans, what we do for work, and structures of our lives. This one is a little more complicated than most because Saturn begins its apparent reverse movement in Sagittarius, but eventually backs into the final degrees of Scorpio. Saturn retrograde is a task master that demands we take responsibility to review, our beliefs while in Sagittarius and our ethics while in Scorpio. Neptune retrograde is seeking transcendence through spiritual experiences. This will be a time to use spiritual practices to keep us grounded as we expand our intuition and consciousness. Both Neptune and Pisces, the sign it rules, tend to be dreamy, imaginative, difficult to nail down due to their qualities of illusion and illumination often without any way to know which is which. They represent compassion and co-dependence, selflessness and loss of self, higher purpose and substance abuse, in their inspiration to transcend the material plane and experience something beyond words and thoughts. When Pluto, the planet of transformation through a death and rebirth cycle, is retrograde, which is about reviewing the past, and releasing anything from the past that is a burden to our new path. Pluto in Capricorn is determined in exposing the darkness, destroying the old order, so that we can rise up like the Phoenix from the ashes to soar again. Capricorn is about large structures which includes banks, governments, corporations, and religions. Pluto is in Capricorn until 2023 where it is destroying and regenerating the structures that are the foundation of our societies represented by Capricorn. This is a time of a cosmic course correction for the entire planet. We cannot continue to harm Mother Earth for the economic gain of a few. It is the resistance to Pluto's lesson of letting go of the past, that brings tragedy and pain.

The big change in the One Deer trecena is Chiron changing directions. On the June 23rd Chiron turns retrograde. Chiron retrograde in Pisces is about releasing stuck emotional energy, so that we can return to the natural flow of life. Chiron is the wounded healer in Greek mythology. He was a teacher, healer, and astrologer to the Gods. He was abandoned at birth because his mother objected to her son being half man and half horse, which was his first wound. When he was teaching Hercules to use Hydra's blood as poison, Hercules mistakenly hit Chiron in the leg with a poisoned arrow, but because Chiron was immortal he didn't die. He suffered the pain of his wounds every day of his life. Chiron eventually traded his life to have Prometheus released from his imprisonment for stealing fire and giving it to the human race. Retrograde Chiron has us reviewing our wounds so that they can be released, by having the courage to open our hearts to any fear or pain associated with our past. When Chiron is in Pisces people are willing to sacrifice their individual pain in hopes of finding bliss in Universal consciousness. At its worst this can manifest as folks justifying their victimhood as some form of martyrdom. This should be transcendence and surrender without losing ourselves in the experience. The last time Chiron was in Pisces was from 1961 to 1968,  which was also the time that Uranus and Pluto were merged in Virgo, planting the seeds for the squares between Pluto and Uranus that just finished exact alignments earlier this year, but whose influence we will be experiencing for years to come. At the time of the last transit of Chiron through Pisces there was a growing drug culture, as people were looking for a shortcut to transcendence. The retrograde aspect brings a longing for lost loves and the memories of our losses, encouraging us to return to look at our core wounds and bring them to the surface so they can be healed. Another trap of Chiron in Pisces is codependent relationships where we focus on healing others rather than ourselves. Chiron will turn direct in November, so this time of exploring the depths of our psyche will be with us for months to come.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
June 16th is 1 – Manik "man-eek" or Deer: unity experienced through being of service to others in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. On the 16th we have the Gemini New Moon. New moons are times of new beginnings and in Gemini is about shifting and changing our thinking and communications. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which is newly direct, the new moon brings a push to implement the course change we became aware of during the retrograde period with new ideas, new perspective, and new information beckoning us to learn about ourselves and our environment. New Moons bring the opportunity to set an intension for manifestation on the following full moon. Look to the house of your astrology chart that contains 25 degrees Gemini to consider what area of your life is being activated by this new moon. For me that would be my twelfth house of secrets, sorrows, and self undoing, but is also the most mystical of all the houses and is linked to psychic powers, so I would set an intension related to using this energy. The Moon is in harmony with Jupiter and Uranus, and merging with Mars and the Sun, which with this lunation sextile Jupiter, the day brings good feelings and congenial social interactions. Uranus' influence brings pleasant yet restless feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the daily routine through change and release, and Mars can bring experiencing irritable moods and critical communications, but also energizes us to fulfill our desires. Chiron is square to the lunation indicating healing through releasing past wounds is also part of the new beginning. Overall this is a social new moon focused on birthing new information, and communications.

The 17th is 2 – Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: duality experienced through being grateful for abundant relationships, while the Cancer Moon is supported by Neptune and opposed by Pluto which shifter from our innermost subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great for accomplishing much work, to later, opposed by Pluto, brings deep emotions rising to the surface.

June 18th is 3 – Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: taking action through appreciating creation, while the Moon in Cancer is challenged by Uranus which influences folks acting hasty and jumping to conclusions that may not be correct.

The 19th is 4 - Oc "awk" or Dog: stability through enjoying family and friends, while the Moon finds support from Saturn and in harmony with Mercury which moves from having a sober realistic view of life, followed by people feeling chatty and having numerous conservations.

June 20th is 5 - Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey: empowerment through creating something new, while the Leo Moon merges with Venus and Jupiter, and finds support from Uranus, which shifts from feeling cheerful, warm, gregarious, and wanting to go out and socialize, followed by good feelings and generosity towards others, and finally brings a desire for emotional excitement to engage in activities outside our daily routine.

The 21st is 6 – Eb "eb" or Road: being in the flow through serving your community, as the Sun enters Cancer bringing the Summer Solstice in the north and the Winter Solstice south of the equator. The Sun in Cancer illuminates security and emotional wellbeing. If you planted intentions during the Equinox, how are they growing? Do you need to weed something out so that what you intended has more room to grow? The charts of the Solstices and Equinox have long been used to forecast the energy for the coming season. The Sun enters Cancer at 12:38 pm EDT, and at the moment Sun begins moving through Cancer, we have the Moon, Mars and Saturn are in the final degrees of the signs they inhabit. So as we begin as new season we have a great deal of energy for completion. The Moon is at 29 degrees Leo as the Sun 0 degrees Cancer, so they are in an out of sign sextile and, in each other's signs, they are in mutual reception, with the Sun and Moon strengthening and supporting each other. This is a harmonious relationship between pairs of opposites and equilibrium between emotions and personality. The Moon is also square Saturn and sextile Mars, which brings limitation which can be experienced as depression when challenged by Saturn, but is somewhat balanced by Mars' stimulation, bringing energy for activity and faith about our abilities to achieve. With Saturn back in Scorpio (Pluto's sign) and Pluto in Saturn's sign of Capricorn, we have mutual reception between the two planets also strengthening and supporting each other, which will bring tests during the season, that ultimately empower those who face those challenges. Mercury, in its own sign of Gemini, is square to Neptune, in its own sign of Pisces, brings confusion to communications and thinking, but also influence for studying spiritual subjects. We may become aware, after the season, that secrets and controversial information that were withheld, should have been shared because their absence led to confusion and manipulation. We also have the two planets of freedom and liberation, Jupiter and Uranus in a trine, meaning the upcoming season will bring expansion and confidence to imagination, and innovation that leads to change and the liberation of our "authentic selves" if we can remain flexible. People are more open to new ideas which may lead to diverting from the path that has turned into a rut. This transit can bring a sudden surprise opportunity or some sort of new chance that can be beneficial. The elemental influence of the Solstice chart is on fire and water, with air represented by two planets, and only Pluto in earth, indicating being grounded will be more challenging during the season. The planets in the final degrees bring a sense of urgency as the past needs to be released to create fertile ground for the new beginning represented by the Sun entering Cancer. Individuals, couples, and groups, will awaken that the clock is ticking to make critical changes particularly related to Saturn in Scorpio, because once Saturn re-enters Sagittarius in September that door will close for several decades. This intensifies the pressure for transformation in reviewing their own shadow and releasing the past, that ultimately empowers the individual. What we see is that during the upcoming season, we will experience a polarity between the drama of the global and outer world, while we find solace and support in our local communities and personal relationships. Also on the 21st the Moon stimulated by Mars and the Sun, and challenged by Saturn, which moves from having the desire to work independently from others, followed by people feeling lonely or isolated, and finally feelings of inner and outer equanimity.

June 22nd is 7 - Ben "ben" or Reed or Corn: reflection through maintaining the home, while Jupiter trine Uranus which brings the desire for expression by doing something outside of the normal routine. Jupiter brings expansion, confidence, and benefits, and Uranus in a favorable alignment brings innovation, imagination, and change, with the potential for positive breakthroughs, particularly in the areas of technology and science. Folks will want to experience a new type of freedom and to discover aspects of living that until now were unknown. The inner effect is to explore metaphysical and philosophical matters for inner truth, and outwardly through some new activity. People are more open to new ideas which may lead to diverting from the path that has turned into a rut. This transit can bring a sudden surprise opportunity or some sort of new chance that can be beneficial. Also on the 22nd the Virgo Moon is challenged by Mercury, opposed by Neptune, and supported by Pluto which shifts from our moods influencing our ability to think rationally, followed by feeling sensitive emotionally but confused regarding the accuracy of what's being felt, and finally feeling on a deeper more intense level under the influence of Pluto.

The 23rd is 8 - Ix "eesh" or Jaguar: balance through enjoying nature, while we have the third Mercury square Neptune which can confuse communication but also favors creative and spiritual activities. Watch out for exaggeration and boasting, and some will cross over into outright lying. Mercury is also communication, and in aspect to Neptune for a day or so we have potential for confusion about the details of mundane daily events but a wonderful potential to connect with spiritual realms through being in nature, meditating, and engaging in inner work, also favors creativity and imagination. Overall it's best to carefully formulate exactly what you wish to communicate, because if it could be misunderstood, it probably will. Daydreaming is to be expected under this influence. Not a great day for negotiations or signing contracts as these activities will not be clear under the Neptunian fog. Also on the 23rd Chiron turns retrograde which has us reviewing our wounds so that they can be released, by having the courage to open our hearts to any fear or pain associated with our past. If you find yourself recalling painful events or situations between now and when Chiron turns direct November 27th, it is advisable remain conscious, while dealing with these uncomfortable feelings, as they will reveal the path to healing and letting go of what no longer serves a purpose in our upcoming journey. Also on the 23rd the Moon in Virgo makes no major angles which does not favor making major decisions or purchases, but is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences.

June 24th is 9 - Men "men" or Eagle: patience experienced through seeing from a higher perspective, while Mars enters Cancer, which is a challenging placement for Mars, as it is said to be in its "fall" there. This may affect people in being more intensely emotional, moody, and frustrated. Mars, the planet of action, is inhibited in Cancer's sensitivity and consideration of others, particularly family members. The can also bring disturbances and arguments with those closest to us, included the possible increase in domestic violence in families were aggression does not have a healthy outlet. Physical exercise and activities related to home improvements and do it yourself projects are favored while Mars is in Cancer. It enters Leo on August 8th. Also on the 24th the first quarter Moon harmonizes with Saturn and is challenged by Mars and the Sun which moves from having realistic expectations through being calm and reflective, followed by people feeling irritable which could lead to needless disputes, and finally challenged by the Sun, we encounter challenges to our daily routines.

The 25th is 10 – Cib "keeb" or Wisdom: manifestation through introspection, meditation and forgiveness, with the Libra Moon supported by Mercury, challenged by Pluto, in harmony with Venus and Jupiter, and opposed by Uranus brings a day that's busy with lunar emotional stimulation that begins with feeling in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others, then shifts to having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run, followed by wanting to be with friends and the people we love, then later folks are emotionally excitable and impulsive, and finally folks are feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness.

June 26th is 11 – Caban "kah-ban" or Earth: resolution through gratitude for Mother Earth, while the Scorpio Moon finds support from Mars which has folks feeling a little more confident than usual with the ability to assert ourselves in a positive manner.

The 27th is 12 - Etznab "etz-nob" or Flint: understanding through being introspective, while the Moon in Scorpio finds support from the Sun and Neptune, and harmonizes with Pluto which moves from feeling a sense of inner harmony which is mirrored in the outside world, followed by fantasies and daydreams distracting us from accomplishing routine tasks, and finally having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level.

June 28th is 13 - Cauac "cow-ack" or Storm: movement to the next stage through recognizing the gifts in adversity, while the Scorpio Moon is challenged by Venus and Jupiter, and merges with Saturn which shifts from having pleasant energy for being with the others we want to know better, followed by benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment, and finally wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings.

So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Deer trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
