Astrology and Mayan Tzolkin for February 6th to February 18th 2015

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of February 6th for 1 – Caban "kah-ban" or Earth in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with Mercury turning direct, the second Aquarius New Moon in a row, the Sun entering Pisces, and the Chinese New Year of the Green Wood Sheep.

February 6th for 1 – Caban "kah-ban" or Earth which carries the themes of natural rhythms, synchronizing the heart with Mother Earth, inspiration, the powers of creation, earthquakes, ancient wisdom, and flowing with the natural order. The Maya believed that the same energy that is the soul of the heart also resides in the Earth. The day symbol for earth also represents the interconnectedness of our emotions and the Earth’s emotions. Ian Lungold wrote “Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.” Neurophysicists have discovered that our hearts radiate the body’s strongest electromagnetic frequency in a torus field. This field is holographic and arcs out and returns along the axis of the heart and extends from the pelvic floor to the crown of the head. The Earth is also the center of a holographic electromagnetic torus field, as is the solar system and the galaxy. It's interesting to note that because of their holographic nature, there is the belief that there is only one universal torus field, which means our hearts are connected to the Earth, the solar system, the galaxy, and ultimately the universe. It’s fractal, where we don’t have a part, but the whole represented in each of us. These thirteen days are best used to change our patterns to be more heart centered and in balance with our Earth Mother.

Since we begin the energy of the Chinese New Year before and have their New Year’s day the day following this trecena, I thought I'd discuss the Year of the Green Wood Sheep. February 19th begins the Chinese new year of the Green Wood Sheep. Actually the Chinese have two beginnings. The first day of the Wood Sheep or Goat is February 4th and Chinese New Year’s day is the 19th. So in January we wrapped up the year of the Green Wood Horse. Sheep or Goat is one of the favorite animals to the Chinese with its character being Yang which means the positive energy in the universe and considered lucky. Sheep or Goat energy is about being gentle, shy, sympathetic, stable, mild-mannered, amicable, kind and just. People born in Sheep years are reserved and quiet, have perseverance, look gentle on the outside but are tough below the surface, prefer to be in groups and tend to prefer being a supportive team player rather than the lead role. Wood is community oriented, which is compatible with the energy of sheep. Unlike the year of the Horse which was a time of adventure, excitement, victory, and surprising romances, which includes bolting from them as well, when we might expect the global economy to get stronger as industrial manufacturing will be on the rise, the year of the sheep brings financial difficulties and people adopt conservative strategies when dealing with investments of their own resources.

The last Sheep year was 2003 and like 1943 was a Black Water Goat year, which began the Iraq war and in 1943, World War II dominated the historical events, with the water sheep energy to help others and sacrifice personal interests for others. 1991 was a White Metal Sheep year which is considered to be the last year of the Cold War, yet the conflict that would be called the Gulf War began the constant United States military presence in the Middle East. Ambition and Stubbornness are themes of metal goat years. 1979 was a Brown Earth Goat year, which had the Ayatollah Khomeini returning Tehran Iran, and the beginning of the Iranian Hostage crisis. Righteousness is a theme of the earth sheep. 1967 was a Red Fire Sheep year which was the Summer of Love, but also Vietnam War and protests against the war. The fire goat is amicable, frank, and honest.

The last Green Wood Sheep year was 1955 which brought many firsts such as a young Jim Henson builds the first version of Kermit the Frog (speaking of green), the Broadway musical version of Peter Pan is presented on television for the first time, Ray Kroc opens his first McDonald's in Illinois, a British team are the first to attain the summit of Kangchenjunga in the Himalayas, the first diamond mine in the Soviet Union is discovered, Disneyland opens to the public in Anaheim California, the first nuclear-generated electrical power is sold commercially, the first Geneva Summit meeting between the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and France, the first edition of the Guinness Book of Records is published, General Motors becomes the first American corporation to make a profit of over one billion dollars in one year, the Tappan Zee Bridge in New York opens to traffic, the long-running program Gunsmoke debuts, Alfred Hitchcock Presents debuts, The Mickey Mouse Club debuts, the first footage of Elvis Presley is filmed, Bo Diddley makes his television debut on Ed Sullivan's Toast Of The Town show, and many Television stations first sign on air across the United States. West Germany becomes a sovereign country recognized by important Western foreign countries, such as France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States, and later in the year joins the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Claudette Colvin (a fifteen-year-old African-American girl) refuses to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery Alabama to a white woman after the driver demands it. She is carried off the bus backwards while being kicked and handcuffed and harassed on the way to the police station, then later in the year also in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks refuses to obey bus driver James F. Blake's order that she give up her seat to make room for a white passenger and is arrested, leading to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The Richard Riot occurs in Montreal. Evan Hunter's movie adaptation of the novel Blackboard Jungle premieres in the United States, featuring the famous single, "Rock Around the Clock", by Bill Haley & His Comets. Teenagers jump from their seats to dance to the song. Winston Churchill resigns as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom due to ill-health at the age of 80. The Salk polio vaccine, having passed large-scale trials earlier in the United States, receives full approval by the Food and Drug Administration. Eight Communist Bloc countries, including the Soviet Union, sign a mutual defense treaty in Warsaw Poland, that is called the Warsaw Pact. The First Sudanese Civil War begins. Actor James Dean is killed at just 24 years old, when his automobile collides with another car. The Vietnam War begins between the South Vietnam Army and the North Vietnam Army in which the latter is allied with the Viet Cong, The American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations merge to become the AFL–CIO. El Al Flight 402 from Vienna Austria to Tel Aviv via Istanbul is shot down over Bulgaria. All 58 passengers and crewmen aboard are killed. Themes of Wood Sheep years are compassion, and being amicable.

Before I get into the daily energy for 1 – Caban "kah-ban" or Earth trecena, on the 6th  all the planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth Mercury and Jupiter which appear to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes being played out. Mercury in Aquarius is retrograde until February 11th, so during the beginning of the Caban trecena would be a good time to avoid signing contracts or other legal papers, making any major purchases, or even taking a new job. If you can postpone these types of activities the terms will be much clearer after Mercury is moving direct. Mercury retrogrades force us to slow down and pay more attention to our lives by making us focus on the details of our daily experience. Jupiter retrograde in Leo brings a review of opportunities, faith, religion, beliefs and expansion. Leo is about leadership, creativity, drama, entertainment, and children. Mostly what I find with Jupiter retrograde, as with any retrograde cycle there is a review of the past, and with Jupiter what gets reviewed are missed opportunities.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
February 6th for 1 – Caban "kah-ban" or Earth: unity experienced through gratitude for Mother Earth in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, while  the Sun opposes Jupiter which has a double potential that we see with oppositions. This is a day of feeling good, cheerful and optimistic. The feeling that nothing can go wrong today has its good points and its bad points. The best way find success with this transit is to not go overboard in any area, of course this is exactly what can happen at this time. This can also build our self confidence, giving us the courage to do something we've never done before. It's another Jupiter alignment where we need to avoid being arrogant. Any negativity that is being expressed also expands and can turn into conflicts with others. It's important to know your listener if offering constructive criticism, to avoid offering more than can be heard. Authority figures may interpret informing as over stepping some sort of boundary or even self righteousness. As with an opposition, like a full moon, this is a time when something that was planted back in June is coming to fruition. Basically at this time don't over extend yourself or make commitments you can't keep. Also on the 6th the Virgo Moon is opposed by Venus and Mars, and supported by Pluto, in which the days emotional vibration begins with pleasant energy for enjoying sensual experiences and rich food with a caution against overindulgence, then later shifts to feeling on a deeper more intense level, and finally influences people to be more excitable and irritable which can cause problems in our personal lives.

The 7th is 2 - Etznab "etz-nob" or Flint: duality experienced through being introspective, while the Libra Moon finds support from Mercury and harmonizes with Saturn which moves from being more in touch with our feelings and able to share them with others, to later having realistic expectations through being calm and reflective.

February 8th is 3 - Cauac "cow-ack" or Storm: taking action through recognizing the gifts in adversity, while Venus in Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn bringing an atmosphere of passion, intensity, and expression with less filtering, be careful not say things you will regret later. Folks may seek the advice of older people (Capricorn) regarding relationships or money (Venus). Venus in harmony with Pluto combines love and death, so this could be a time when we hear from an ex-lover or have the desire to contact a partner from our past. This transit deepens our emotions and brings more focus on our friendships. It also intensifies love relationships and can take sexual experiences to a whole new level. A new relationship begun under this influence may feel "fated." Creativity is magnified and is purposeful. Also on the 8th the Moon in Libra is opposed by Uranus and challenged by Pluto which brings energy for folks acting emotionally excitable and impulsive, and having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run.

The 9th is 4 - Ahau "ah-how" or Sun: stability through honoring the wisdom and memory of our ancestors, while Venus merges with Chiron in Pisces which brings us deeper awareness of being vulnerable is relationships, which in turn makes us aware of past wounds related to love and money, with the ultimate goal to heal what has been exposed. Also on the 9th the Libra Moon is in harmony with Jupiter and supported by the Sun which starts the day with feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness, followed by feelings of inner and outer equanimity.

February 10th is 5 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile: empowerment through nurturing new beginnings, while the Scorpio Moon is challenged by Mercury and supported by Neptune which shifts from folks being critical in their communications particularly with the people they have intimate relationships with, to later our innermost subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great for accomplishing much work.

The 11th is 6 - Ik "eek" or Wind: being in the flow through communication, while Mercury turns direct at 1 degree Aquarius heralding a time to implement the revision to our previous course that we have become aware of from the information and experiences we had during the retrograde cycle. It will take a few days to gain momentum, but over the next few days we'll feel the invisible attraction to begin our new journey. Also on the 11th the last quarter Moon in Scorpio harmonizes with Pluto, challenged by Jupiter and the Sun, and supported by Venus which moves from having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level, then benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment, later enjoying pleasant feelings and social interactions, and finally we encounter challenges to our daily routines.

February 12th is 7 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: reflection through contemplating the stars, while the Moon finds support from Mars, harmonizes with Mercury, and merges with Saturn. The days emotional influence begins with feeling a little more confident than usual with the ability to assert ourselves in a positive manner, then later brings positive energy for integrating our thoughts and moods, and finally wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings.

The 13th is 8 - Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: balance through planting seeds and making new connections, with the Sagittarius Moon challenged by Neptune, and supported by Uranus and Jupiter which begins with bringing our dreams into the day's vibration, then later brings a desire for emotional excitement to engage in activities outside our daily routine, and finally having feelings of inner and outer equanimity.

February 14th is 9 - Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: patience experienced through being flexible, while the Moon in Sagittarius is challenged by Venus and Mars, and in harmony with the Sun which shifts from having pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones, to later feeling balance between our inner and outer worlds, and finally people feeling irritable which could lead to needless disputes.

The 15th is 10 - Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: manifestation through releasing what no longer serves us, while Capricorn Moon harmonizes with Neptune, is challenged by Uranus, and merges with Pluto which moves from having greater sensitivity to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open, then later folks acting hasty and jumping to conclusions that may not be correct, and finally we have more intense moods rising to the surface from deep in our psyches.

February 16th is 11 - Manik "man-eek" or Deer: resolution through being of service to others, while the Moon in Capricorn harmonizes with Venus and Mars which shifts from wanting to be with friends and the people we love, to later having the desire to work independently from others.

The 17th is 12 - Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: understanding through being grateful for abundant relationships, while the Aquarius Moon merges with Mercury, is in harmony with Saturn and Uranus, and is opposed by Jupiter. Which is a busy day of emotional influences starting with positive energy for integrating our thoughts and moods, then wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings, followed by pleasant yet restless energy that desires emotional excitement, and finally having feelings of generosity.

February 18th is 13 - Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: movement to the next stage through appreciating creation, with the second Aquarius New Moon in a row, this one occurring at 29 degrees and change looking in the door at Pisces which it enters moments later. The New Moon makes no other significant angles other than merging with the Sun. Aquarius illuminates social justice, impartiality, freedom, individuality, and innovation. New Moons bring the opportunity to set an intension for manifestation on the following full moon. Since this new moon is at the final degree of Aquarius it also represents something is being completed. Look to the house of your astrology chart that contains 29 degrees 59 minutes of Aquarius to consider what area of your life is being activated by this new moon. For me that would be my ninth house of long distance travel, and higher education, so I would set an intension related to using this energy. This New Moon is particularly potent for make big changes through taking a leap of faith leading us deeper into 2015, as the Chinese Year of the Green Wood Sheep begins with this new moon. Remember February 2015 is a one month in numerology, indicating that we are in a time of new beginnings. Also on the 18th the Sun enters Pisces which begins a month of illuminating the intuitive unseen realms inspiring spiritual and psychic experiences but also brings the fog of illusion. This shift has the potential to melt obstacles to merging with something greater than ourselves.

So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Earth trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
