This is the "Care and feeding
of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of May 19th
2016 and
1 – Chicchan
"chee-chan" or Serpent in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Sun entering Gemini, the Sagittarius Full
Moon, Mercury turning direct, Venus
entering Gemini, and Mars backing into Scorpio.
May 19th is 1
– Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent carries the themes of unity,
flexibility, fluidity, movement, creation of time, kundalini, bringer of rain,
the sky serpents, blood lightning, passion, the life force that flows through
everything, the energy connecting our primal root electricity to our spiritual
expression and the transcendence of duality, "Samadhi". Serpents are important in many different cultures from kundalini of the
Hindi chakra system and blood lightning in the Mayan tradition to the Greek
serpent eating it own tail, represents life, death and rebirth. Often
associated with Gnosticism, it represents eternity. In China the snake is
replaced with Dragon eating its own tail. In Aboriginal Australia the Rainbow
Serpent is the guardian of life, fertility, water and other precious resources.
And of course the Mayan god Quetzalcoatl, is the feathered or plumed serpent,
the god of wind, the giver of breath and also the creator deity, when he
descended into the land of the dead to gather up precious bones which he
sprinkled with his own blood to create humans. This thirteen day period is an
important time to connect with spirit, to have faith in your journey,
experience gratitude in the moment, and let love guide your actions.
Before I get into the daily energy for 1 – Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent, on the 19th all the planets appear to be moving
forward from our vantage point on Earth, except Mercury,
Mars, Saturn and Pluto which appear to
move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets
are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes
being played out. With four planets retrograde everything feel like it is
moving slowly, patience is its own reward. Mercury turned
retrograde April 28th and turns direct on May 22nd, so the beginning of this
trecena would
be a good time to avoid signing contracts or other legal papers, making any
major purchases, or even taking a new job. If you can postpone these types of
activities the terms will be much clearer after Mercury is moving direct.
Mercury retrogrades force us to slow down and pay more attention to our lives
by making us focus on the details of our daily experience. When looking at a retrograde
cycle of any of the personal or inner planets, it provides information about a
correction to our present course. Mars representing drive and aggression,
is in Sagittarius. Mars
will retrograde back into Scorpio, the sign of its traditional rulership on May
27th. Retrograde Mars in Sagittarius has
us reviewing our drives related to our beliefs, and in Scorpio the ethics of
our actions are reviewed. Retrograde Mars can
cause frustration as our energy to get things done is retarded, which can lead
to irritability and aggression. Retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius delays success until perseverance and
patience are learned. Sagittarius themes are travel, education, adventure,
expanding our horizons, and planning for upcoming experiences. Saturn brings
the details to the grand overview of Sagittarius.
Saturn retrograde is a task master that demands we take responsibility to
review our beliefs while in Sagittarius. Pluto the planet of
transformation through a death and rebirth cycle, is retrograde, which is about
reviewing the past, and is a time of releasing anything from the past that is a
burden to our new path. Pluto represents death, completion, and in Capricorn,
the breakdown of structures, to bring about transformation.
The big change in the Serpent trecena is Mercury changing
directions, as it moves direct on the 22nd. Which begins the 3rd stage when the
planet is moving forward again until crossing the line where it originally
turned retrograde. During the 3rd stage we move forward with a revision to our
previous course. We entered the 1st stage for Mercury on April 14th, so from
then until April 28th, we received information about an adjustment that needs
to be made in our lives. Mercury is retrograde
from 4/28 at 23 Taurus until 5/22 at 14 Taurus which is a time when we will
notice events that shift our thinking, and from May 22nd to June 8th, we are in
the 3rd stage where we implement the change in
direction from the awareness gained through experiencing this process.
Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
May
19th is
1 – Chicchan
"chee-chan" or Serpent: unity experienced
through being flexible in the
Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Moon
in Libra makes no angles and is void of course until moving into Scorpio, which
does not favor major decisions or purchases, but is good to use for resting to
assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences.
The
20th is
2 – Cimi "key-mee" or
Transformation:
duality experienced through releasing
what no longer serves us, with the Sun
enters Gemini which illuminates communication.
The energy gets very fast, highlighting intelligence and adaptability as
information flows at an increased rate. Also on the 20th the Scorpio Moon finds
support from Neptune, harmonizes with Jupiter and Pluto, and opposes Mercury,
which changes from fantasies and daydreams
distracting us from accomplishing routine tasks, to later feeling in the flow and having a sense of
wholeness,
followed by some feeling a real
conflict between feelings and reason and others having fruitful expressions of
their deeper awareness either internally or with another, and finally experiencing deep emotions on a profound level.
May
21st is
3 – man-eek" : taking
action through being of service to others, while we have the Sagittarius Full Moon at 1
degree 14 minutes opposing Venus and the Gemini Sun, and merging with Mars. Full moons are a time of tension as the
Sun in Gemini is about balancing thought, self expression, which can include
imposing a point of view on another, with the Moon in Sagittarius, representing
a wider perspective of philosophy and mental expression. Of all the oppositions
the Gemini/Sagittarius polarity is the least challenging to integrate. Gemini
brings curiosity to help Sagittarius quest for wisdom and knowledge. We do have
Venus in opposition to this lunation which can bring pleasant energy for enjoying sensual experiences and rich
food with a caution against overindulgence. Moon merging with Mars which can bring experiencing irritable moods and
critical communications. With Saturn in
Sagittarius lending focus and details to the far reaching vision of the
lunation. Overall this Full Moon is optimistic and sees the big picture,
although there will also be people who express their beliefs as “truth” under
the inflated Sagittarius Moon, they may even be two faced under the Gemini Sun,
and with Venus and Mars adding to the tension, overindulgence and aggression
may also be factors, particularly between the sexes. An open mind will help
navigate these individuals, if they are present in your environment. For the
native North Americans this is the Full flower Moon, as flowers are abundant
and everywhere in May. It’s also known as the Milk Moon or the Full Corn
Planting Moon.
The 22nd is 4 – Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: stability through being grateful for abundant relationships, with Mercury turns direct at 14 degrees and 21 minutes Taurus, heralding a time to
implement the revision to our previous course that we have become aware of from
the information and experiences we had during the retrograde cycle. It will
take a few days to gain momentum, but over the next few days we'll feel the
invisible attraction to begin our new journey. Also on the 22nd the Sun opposes Mars
brings a day to watch the tendency to be assertive based on your ego. This can
be a time of culminations when projects and activities reach fruition. This can
also be disruptive when the ego is operating unconsciously and leads to people
blindly asserting themselves which in turn is met with opposition and
resistance. Folks may be more irritable and aggressive under this influence,
with confrontation seeming more likely. If you are interested in deepening your
self-awareness, look what aspects of your internal and external environment are
sparking any irritation or anger for what attitudes they hold in your current
thinking. Once you've unpacked that baggage you might find that what is making
you mad is of little importance. A lack of recognition of these undercurrents
can lead to suppression which can cause illness or self-destructive behavior. Also on the 22nd
the Moon in Sagittarius is challenged by Neptune and Jupiter, and merges with
Saturn, which moves from bringing our dreams into
the day's vibration,
to later having benevolent and generous
feelings for those in our immediate environment, and finally wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings.
May
23rd is
5 – Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: empowerment through appreciating creation, with the Sagittarius Moon stimulated by Uranus which bring pleasant yet restless
feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the daily routine.
The 24th is 6 – Oc "awk" or Dog:
being in the flow through enjoying family
and friends, while Venus enters Gemini which
brings a chatty superficial quality to social interactions. Venus in Gemini can
bring a carelessness to spending money for the rest of May and into next month,
before moving into Cancer June 17th. Also on the 24th Venus opposed by Mars is positive for
stimulating sexual and creative energies. If you're involved in a sexual
relationship that is going well, this can bring a nice release of sexual energy
and achieve gratification for both partners. If on the other hand there are
problems with sexual expression in the relationship this might bring a point of
conflict between the couple. If Mars' ego energy in not fulfilled sexually
through Venus, the energy transmutes into energy for conflicts. This can come up
as one person feels gratified, yet insensitive to their partners needs. A new
relationship that starts under this transit tends to become a sexual outlet
with little compatibility in other areas, so it's important not to make a
commitment until the relationship proves itself. For people expressing
themselves through creative outlets this is a good transit for completing work
where you have a full latitude for self expression. Also on the 24th the Moon in Sagittarius makes no angles and is void
of course until moving into Capricorn, which does not favor major decisions or
purchases, but is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of
energy and experiences.
May
25th is
7 Chuen
"shoe-in" or Monkey: reflection through creating something new, with the Capricorn
Moon in harmony with Neptune, supported by Jupiter and Mercury, merging with
Pluto, and challenged by Uranus. The day's emotional energy shifts from greater
sensitivity to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who
are open, to people having a pleasant sense of well-being, followed by feeling
in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others, then later we have
more intense moods rising to the surface from deep in our psyches, and finally folks
acting hasty and jumping to conclusions that may not be correct.
The
26th is 8 – Eb "eb" or Road
: balance through serving your community, while Jupiter squares Saturn brings energy to
make adjustments in life, such as separating from people or circumstances that
are not beneficial. This process is likely to come from feeling tension between
Jupiter’s expansion and Saturn’s restriction, through realizing what is inappropriate
and becoming more aligned with a sense of duty and responsibility. Saturn is in Jupiter’s sign of
Sagittarius, putting more emphasis on contraction, than expansion. This also
begins a time period of having a Mutable Grand Cross until June 8th with Jupiter
in Virgo, Saturn in Sagittarius, Neptune in Pisces, and the Sun and Venus in
Gemini. As with all grand crosses this can be a challenging time period
especially for people with personal planets between 10 and 15 degrees of the
mutable signs. Because this transit can bring confusion about whether to
expand or cut back, this may be a good time to go off by yourself as other
people’s advice is of little value. This also brings a strong feeling of
uncertainty and restlessness, but don’t rush to make any change because often
we do not have all the facts. In financial markets Jupiter square Saturn often
creates restriction, which some will resent and impulsively go “all in” in
response to feeling limited, with less than optimal results. Also on the 26th
the Aquarius Moon is stimulated by Mars, and supported by Venus and the Sun,
which changes from having the desire to
work independently from others, followed by enjoying social interactions with others, and finally having a sense of harmony within ourselves and
supports any type of group activity and relationships with the opposite sex.
May
27th is
9 – Ben "ben" or Reed or Corn: patience
experienced through maintaining the home, with retrograde Mars backs into Scorpio, after over 2 and a
half months in Sagittarius, Mars has found its way to the sign of its
traditional rulership. Mars in Scorpio brings persistence and intensity, but
also emotional sexuality. Scorpio Mars is hard driving, resourceful,
determined, relentless, purpose directed, but can also be displayed as
jealousy, anger, resentments, and hurt feelings. Mars will be in Scorpio until August
2nd when it returns to Sagittarius. Also on the 27th the Moon in Aquarius
harmonizes with Saturn and is challenged by Mercury which moves from wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings, to later folks being critical in their communications
particularly with the people they have intimate relationships with.
The 28th
is 10 – Ix "eesh" or Jaguar: manifestation through enjoying nature, with the Moon in Aquarius stimulated by
Uranus and challenged by Mars which shifts from having pleasant
yet restless feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the
daily routine, to later people feeling
irritable which could lead to needless disputes.
May
29th is 11 – Men "men" or Eagle: resolution through seeing
from a higher perspective, with the last quarter Moon in Pisces challenged by
Venus, the Sun, and Saturn, merging with Neptune, opposed by Jupiter, and in
harmony with Mercury and Pluto. This is a very busy day of emotional
stimulation that begins with having pleasant energy
to be with friends and loved ones, followed by
encountering challenges to our daily routines, then feelings of empathy for those around us, including the
possibility of clairvoyance and telepathic experiences for those of us who are
sensitive by nature, later people feeling
lonely or isolated, followed by feelings of
generosity, then later people feeling chatty and having numerous
conversations, and finally having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and
felt on a profound level.
The 30th is 12
– Cib "keeb" or Wisdom: understanding
through introspection, meditation and
forgiveness, while Mercury trine Pluto, which can bring
concern about the deeper issues in life. This has people wanting to dig below
the surface to uncover mysteries. On a personal level this can be excellent for
inner work, so it might be a good day for some "alone time" to
discover some of the deeper dimensions of your psyche. Communications may seem
rather serious and profound. Thoughts will be more focused and gain insights
about important developments. Also on the 30th the Pisces Moon finds support from Mars which may have us
feeling a little more confident than usual with the ability to assert ourselves
in a positive manner.
May 31st is 13
– Caban "kah-ban" or Earth:
movement to the next stage through gratitude
for Mother Earth, with the Aries Moon in harmony with Venus and the Sun and
supported by Saturn which changes from wanting to be
with friends and the people we love, to later feeling
balance between our inner and outer worlds, and finally having a sober realistic view of life.
So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Serpent trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the
planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the
stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being
with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to
distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world
stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember
you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
