This is the "Care and feeding
of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of January 10th 2016 and 1
– Men "men" or Eagle in the Mayan Tzolkin
calendar,
with the Sun entering Aquarius.
January 10th is 1
– Men "men" or Eagle with
the themes of higher perspective, keen vision, free spirit, messenger of
faith and knowledge, patience, wings of the spirit, value, manifestation of
fertility, knowing the details, dualities of the Sun and Moon, the budding
youth and the wise elder, male and female, the soaring eagle and the fallen
eagle, the messenger between heaven and earth. It also represents luck, hope,
liberty, trust, good fortune and good relationships. Eagles have the quality of
being able to observe movements from a great distance. The 1 Eagle thirteen day
period could be used to gain greater perspectives about the events in our lives
through creating some distance between the observer and the observed. Having Mercury and Jupiter retrograde
during this trecena supports many of the eagle themes of patience with regards
to faith and knowledge.
Before I get into the daily energy for 1 – Men "men" or Eagle, on the 10th all the planets appear to be moving
forward from our vantage point on Earth, except Mercury
and Jupiter which appear to move retrograde or
in reverse motion. Remember the themes of retrograde planets are the review the
past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can see these themes being played out. Mercury turned retrograde January 5th and turns
direct on the 25th, so this trecena would be a good time to avoid signing
contracts or other legal papers, making any major purchases, or even taking a
new job. If you can postpone these types of activities the terms will be much clearer
after Mercury is moving direct. Mercury retrogrades force us to slow down and
pay more attention to our lives by making us focus on the details of our daily
experience. When looking at a retrograde cycle of any of the personal or inner
planets, it provides information about a correction to our present course. Jupiter was the king of the
gods, and the planet is about good fortune, opportunities, faith, religion,
beliefs and expansion. Jupiter is in Virgo and Virgo is about organization,
health, and service. Mostly what I find with Jupiter retrograde, as with any
retrograde cycle there is a review of the past, and with Jupiter what gets reviewed
are missed opportunities.
Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
January 10th is 1 – Men "men" or Eagle: unity experienced through
seeing from a higher perspective in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, while the Moon is supported by Jupiter, merges with Mercury, and
is challenged by Mars, which influences peoples' emotions as the shift from feelings of inner and outer equanimity, to having positive
energy for integrating our thoughts and moods, and finally people feeling
irritable which could lead to needless disputes.
The 11th is 2 – Cib "keeb" or
Wisdom: duality experienced through introspection, meditation and forgiveness,
with the Aquarius Moon in harmony with Saturn, Venus, and Uranus, which moves
from wanting to be alone in
our thoughts and feelings, followed by having
pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones, and finally pleasant yet
restless energy that desires emotional excitement.
January 12th is 3 – Caban
"kah-ban" or Earth: taking action through gratitude for Mother Earth,
while Venus trine Uranus which wants social experiences and romantic encounters to be
outside the norm, unusual, and surprising. This is a great day to try something
out of the ordinary. The daily routine will just not cut it under this
influence. Folks are looking to do something stimulating in their social lives
and relationships. A day when there may be unique encounters and love
relationships that begin under this influence are exciting, electric, unstable
and short, but have a strong potential to change our lives. Experiencing
different types of entertainment is also favored by this transit, by enjoying
music, art, or theater that is outside your normal choices. Also on the 12th the Moon in Aquarius makes no
angles and is void of course until moving into Pisces, which does not favor
major decisions or purchases, but is good to use for resting to assimilate this
latest round of energy and experiences.
The 13th is 4 – Etznab
"etz-nob" or Flint: stability through being introspective, while
the Sun trines Jupiter,
which is one of the most positive transits bringing enthusiasm and optimism, it
can have the effect of people feeling lazy, but I would encourage folks to use
this energy to accomplish something good for yourself. This is a day to project
positive energy into the environment that can have some influence on your
affairs and accomplishing something you desire. Some will see this as
"dumb luck", but this transit has its roots in something that was
done in the recent past. This is great energy for making changes in your life
without feeling a sense of loss. This is also good for studying something of
interest to you, particularly subjects that help us to see the world as a
whole. Also on the 13th the Pisces Moon finds support from Mars,
merges with Neptune, is challenged by Saturn, and harmonizes with Pluto, which
shifts from feeling a little more
confident than usual with the ability to assert ourselves in a positive manner, to
later feelings of empathy for
those around us, including the possibility of clairvoyance and telepathic
experiences for those of us who are sensitive by nature,
followed by people feeling lonely or
isolated, and finally experiencing
deep emotions on a profound level.
January 14th is 5 - Cauac
"cow-ack" or Storm: empowerment through recognizing the gifts in
adversity, while the Sun conjuncts retrograde
Mercury which prior to turning retrograde Mercury appears to be way out
in front of the Sun, then retrogrades back to conjoin the Sun, and then falls
behind the Sun. Prior to mechanized warfare Generals would send their cavalry
ahead of the infantry to scout out the enemy's location, find possible
resources, as well as the lay of the terrain to move the troops with maximum
efficiency, safety and to their strategic advantage. I like to think of Mercury
when it is stretching out in front of the Sun as gathering intelligence to
report back to our consciousness' during its conjunction to the Sun. Using these two markers connected with a rubber
band, I am hoping to illustrate this pattern. When Mercury, represented by the
black marker, is in front of the Sun,
represented by the red marker, it becomes easier to be overwhelmed by the
increase in new information that seems to have no place to be deposited. This
can increase our anxiety and the sense of losing control. As Mercury retrogrades the tension decreases until it merges
with the Sun, which occurs on January 14th, finding the destination for the
intelligence it has gathered. Once behind the Sun,
Mercury feels as though it is creating drag that retards the possibility of
implementing the new data until it regains forward
motion in its pursuit of the Sun on January 25th. Also on the 14th Mercury trine Jupiter is great energy for making
plans for the future from an overview perspective. This transit does influence
us to take the easy way out and avoid difficult intellectual and mental
problems. Mercury supported by Jupiter is good for business dealings and
signing contracts, as we find our minds are sharper to see opportunities that
normally are overlooked. This is optimistic and promotes positive thinking and
studying subjects that deal with high level thought such as law, philosophy,
religion. Jupiter’s influence on Mercury brings open mindedness and positive
communication to reach a greater understanding. Also on the 14th Venus squares
Chiron which could make us aware of our
wounds and old emotions regarding how we relate to others and/or what we value. Also on the 14th the Moon in Pisces is challenges by Venus, opposed by
Jupiter, and in harmony with Mercury and the Sun, which moves from having pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones,
to later feelings of generosity, followed by people
feeling chatty and having numerous conservations,
and finally feeling balance between our inner and
outer worlds.
The
15th is
6 – Ahau "ah-how" or Sun: being in the
flow through honoring the wisdom and memory of our ancestors, while the Aries
Moon finds support from Saturn which has people settle into a more sober and realistic view of
life.
January 16th is 7 – Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile: reflection through
nurturing new beginnings, while first quarter Moon in Aries is challenged by
Pluto, Mercury, and the Sun, merging with Uranus, and supported by Venus.
A busy day for emotional influences that begins with having the compulsion to act in ways that may
not be good for us in the long run, then shifts to people feeling impulsive and acting rashly, with
moods changing quickly and unexpectedly, followed by enjoying pleasant feelings and social interactions, to later our moods influencing our ability to think
rationally,
and finally brings challenges to
following a daily routine.
The
17th is
8 Ik "eek"
or Wind: balance through communication, while Taurus Moon is opposed by Mars,
and in harmony with Neptune, which moves from people being more excitable and irritable which
can cause problems in our personal lives, followed by a greater sensitivity to
others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open.
January 18th is 9 – Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: patience experienced
through contemplating the stars, while Venus
squares Jupiter is another great transit.
The energy of this square is usually agreeable, in that folks feel good and
enjoy social interactions. A great day for doing something you enjoy, not so
good for doing something you have to do, as it is low for self discipline. It's
tough on dieters, because people may feel the urge to indulge in rich or sweet
foods, with a caution about eating and drinking too much under this influence.
This also applies to shopping as we will have a tendency to overspend on non
essentials. Also
on the 18th Mars trine Neptune which is good for using our energy in activities that benefit
others rather than helping ourselves. This can also inspire us to seek
spiritual knowledge about how we relate to others and the universe. Neptune
balances the usual high physical energy that we normally have with a Mars
transit, and actually may leave us feeling like doing very little. This makes
us more conscious of the needs and wants of others. This is a good time to look
at our lives and the world more objectively, without judgment, due to Neptune
softening Mars' desires with detachment. Folks are more likely to do charitable
work with poor or disadvantaged people, with a caution against seeing yourself
as a savior to those who are worse off. This transit favors spiritual practices,
creativity, and compassion. Also on the 18th
the Moon in Taurus finds support from Pluto, Mercury
and Jupiter which shifts from feeling on a deeper more intense level under the
influence of Pluto, to later being more in touch with our feelings and able to
share them with others, and finally people
having a pleasant sense of wellbeing.
The 19th is 10 – Kan "con" or
Seed or Lizard: manifestation through planting seeds and making new
connections, while Mercury sextile Chiron is
harmonious energy for reaching a deeper understanding of healing old wounds,
which will eventually grow into wisdom. Also on the 19th the Moon is supported by the Sun and challenged by Neptune
which moves from having a sense of harmony within
ourselves and supports any type of group activity and relationships with the
opposite sex, to daydreams and fantasies
feeling more important than reality.
January 20th
is 11 – Chicchan
"chee-chan" or Serpent: resolution through being flexible, with the Sun enters Aquarius, which shifts
the focus to social consciousness, while being true to our individuality to
share our inventive ideas with groups and communities. This is a future
oriented sign of innovation which often comes from being unorthodox in
thinking. Also on the 20th Mercury
in Capricorn is challenged by Uranus in Aries
which is a stressful alignment that pits the traditional thinking against
rebellious new views. Since the outer planets tend to have more power, I
believe that any rigid conservative ideas will be attacked, and transformed or
released to make way for more innovative concepts, but of course Uranus is
unpredictable so anything could happen. And with Mercury retrograde thinking is likely to be moving in reverse.
This could also be a time of increased protests with potential recklessness and
violence. Personally, this can be quite stimulating bringing fascination for
new phenomenon. Flexibility is the key with this transit, because the more
rigid our thinking the more nerve wracking the effect. Expect the unexpected,
surprises and upsets, and you will have the best chance to go with the flow,
which may mean that plans for the day do not work out as expected. Epiphanies
are more likely, so you may want to capture your genius thoughts in some form
of record keeping, to reexamine in the days that follow. The pace is fast which
can lead to sloppiness. A day to be careful of making sudden unexpected moves
as accidents are more likely under this influence. Also on the 20th the Gemini Moon is opposed by Saturn, stimulated by Uranus,
and challenged by Jupiter which changes from feeling
lonely and isolated, followed by pleasant yet
restless feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the
daily routine, and finally benevolent and
generous feelings for those in our immediate environment.
The 21st is 12 - Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: understanding
through releasing what no longer serves us, while the Moon is opposed by Venus
and supported by Neptune which shifts from pleasant energy for enjoying sensual experiences
and rich food with a caution against overindulgence, to
later our innermost
subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great
for accomplishing much work.
January 22nd
is 13 – Manik "man-eek"
or Deer: movement to the next stage through
being of service to others, while Mercury
conjuncts Pluto, which intensifies mental activity
and a penetrating quality to communications along with having a critical eye
for what needs to be transformed in our environment. On a mental level there is
a penetrating quality to go deep in discovering the "truth" in which
superficiality does not cut it. This also indicates a capacity to influence
others, and to speak with a persuasive voice. People will present opinions as
facts, believing they a right and the others is wrong. Be careful of who you
engage with under this transit, as many with make statements with no regard for
the feelings of the listener, which they may interpret as threatening. This can
also bring more acute powers for penetrating analysis of human nature, which is
best not shared without an invitation to do so. Let's not forget that this
transit is effecting everyone so we are as likely to be the recipient of these
behaviors from others, as being the perpetrator. Probably the best use of this
transit is to get preoccupied with a project or idea that you work on
independently from others and you wait to share until another day. While
Mercury interacts with the departing Uranus Pluto square we may become aware of
some area in our lives that need change or adjustment. Also on the 22nd the Cancer Moon finding support
from Mars, opposed by Mercury and Pluto, and challenged by Uranus, which brings
the energy for asserting ourselves in a positive manner and standing our ground
if necessary, followed by some feeling a real conflict between feelings and
reason and others having fruitful expressions of their deeper awareness either
internally or with another, then later brings deep emotions rising to the
surface, and finally people are likely to act hasty and jump to conclusions.
So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Eagle trecena, take
some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a
sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment
through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is
a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the
performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe
the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a
human experience.
