This is the "Care and feeding
of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of August 18th 2016
and 1 – Cib "keeb" or Wisdom in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Aquarius Full
Moon, the Sun entering Virgo, Venus
entering Libra, and Mercury turning retrograde.
August 18th is 1
– Cib "keeb" or Wisdom carries
the themes of the old ones, ancient memories that
wait at the sacred sites, protection of universal consciousness, inner
strength, shared teachings, the Elders, clearing away the past like the
vulture, forgiveness, making amends, great sages and keepers of the ancient records.
Represented by the Vulture or Owl, this is a time of releasing the past through
forgiveness which creates a grateful heart space to receive the wisdom of the
ancients. The next thirteen days is about surrendering something that no longer
serves to make room for transformation. This is a time to forgive others and
ask for forgiveness not only from individuals, but also from our mother Earth.
Before I get into the daily energy for 1 – Cib "keeb", on the 18th all the
planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth, except Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and
Pluto which appears to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember
the themes of retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate,
reminisce and we can see these themes being played out.
Chiron retrograde has
us reviewing our wounds so that they can be released, by having the courage to
open our hearts to any fear or pain associated with our past. If you find
yourself recalling painful events or situations between now and when Chiron
turns direct November 30th, it is advisable remain conscious while dealing with
these uncomfortable feelings as they will reveal the path to healing and
letting go of what no longer serves a purpose in our upcoming journey. Uranus
in Aries retrograde, is seeking to shake our very foundation through the
unexpected rebellion of the individual. Uranus in Aries will have people
wanting to hurry the process of getting free. To push the river of revolution
whether it be personal or political. Uranus in astrology forces us outside our
comfort zone so we have to look for possibilities "outside the box."
This is about unplanned experiences that disrupt our perceived and planned life
path in order to move us forward in our spiritual evolution, individually and
globally.
Neptune retrograde is seeking transcendence through spiritual experiences. This
will be a time to use spiritual practices to keep us grounded as we expand our
intuition and consciousness. Both Neptune and Pisces, the sign it rules, tend
to be dreamy, imaginative, difficult to nail down due to their qualities of
illusion and illumination often without any way to know which is which. They
represent compassion and co-dependence, selflessness and loss of self, higher
purpose and substance abuse, in their inspiration to transcend the material
plane and experience something beyond words and thoughts. Pluto the planet of transformation through a
death and rebirth cycle, is retrograde, which is about reviewing the past, and
is a time of releasing anything from the past that is a burden to our new path.
Pluto represents death, completion, and in Capricorn, the breakdown of
structures, to bring about transformation.
The big change during the Wisdom
trecena is Mercury changing
directions, as it moves retrograde on the 30th and direct on September 22nd, so the end of this trecena would be a good time
to avoid signing contracts or other legal papers, making any major purchases,
or even taking a new job. If you can postpone these types of activities the
terms will be much clearer after Mercury is moving direct. That may seem impossible,
so if you can avoid these activities a few days before and after Mercury
changing directions on the 30th and September 22nd, when the
energy is at its most potent, would be beneficial. Mercury retrogrades force us
to slow down and pay more attention to our lives by making us focus on the
details of our daily experience. When looking at a retrograde cycle of any of
the personal or inner planets, it provides information about a correction to
our present course. During this report period we have Mercury traveling through
the first stage of the retrograde process since 8/10.
There are two important points to be aware of in looking at the cycle. We look
at the point where the planet appears to move backwards
and the point where it appears to move forward again.
The first stage represents the shadow time between passing 14 degrees Virgo,
the point where the planet will eventually begin moving forward again and the
point where the planet slows, stops, and begins moving in reverse, 29 degrees Virgo.
During the first stage we receive information about needing to adjust our
direction. The second stage is the retrograde
phase and is a time to watch the events that occur related to the information
received in the 1st stage. The 3rd stage begins
when the planet is moving forward again until crossing the line where it
originally turned retrograde. During the 3rd stage we move forward with a revision
to our previous course. We entered the 1st stage for Mercury on August 10th, so
from then until the 30th, we receive information about an adjustment that needs
to be made in our lives. Mercury is retrograde
from 8/30 at 29 Virgo until 9/22 at 14 Virgo which will be the time when we
will notice events that shift our thinking, and from September 22nd to October
7th, we are in the 3rd stage where we implement
the change in direction from the awareness gained through experiencing this
process.
If you look at the house
of your astrological chart that contains 14 to 29 degrees of Virgo, you can find
the theme where you will experience revisions, reviews and rethinking of the
characteristics represented by that house. For me, Mercury will move back and
forth in my fourth house of the home and inner world, so I expect this cycle to
provide new information about organizing, cleaning or making repairs to my home
and perhaps some type of inner work on myself. No matter where the Mercury
retrograde occurs in your chart, this often leads to changing choices, goals,
and directions. In the world look for the themes of completion through
intellectual review of the past particularly related to communications about
topics like health, service, and organization when Mercury moves through Virgo.
There are four Mercury retrogrades in 2016, the last three are in earth signs:
Taurus, Virgo, and finally Capricorn.
As we move through August Mercury slows down and turns retrograde at 29 degrees
Virgo on the 30th. When a planet slows down to a stop from our perspective here
on Earth, that planet is considered to be at the peak of its power and Mercury
being at the peak of its power reminds me that the Greek god Hermes, who the
Romans renamed to Mercury, was also the trickster god. He was the messenger of the Gods and if you weren't on his
good side you might not get your message or it might be altered to mean
something different than was intended. In
mythology the trickster is a god, goddess, woman, man, animal or spirit that creates
mischief by playing tricks and acting outside of the accepted rules of their
community. Joseph Campbell said "Almost all non-literate mythology
has a trickster-hero of some kind. . . . And there’s a very special property in
the trickster: he always breaks in, just as the unconscious does, to trip up
the rational situation. He’s both a fool and someone who’s beyond the system.
And the trickster represents all those possibilities of life that your mind
hasn’t decided it wants to deal with. The mind structures a lifestyle, and the
fool or trickster represents another whole range of possibilities. He doesn’t
respect the values that you’ve set up for yourself, and smashes them. . . . The
fool is the breakthrough of the absolute into the field of controlled social
orders." And that is a great description for Mercury retrograde.
Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena.
August 18th is 1
– Cib "keeb"
or Wisdom: unity experienced through introspection, meditation and forgiveness in the Mayan
Tzolkin calendar, while
we have the Aquarius Full Moon (which
many astrologers are hyping as an eclipse, yet none of the resources I rely on
note it as being any type of eclipse.) The Full Moon is at 25 degrees 52
minutes, and is in harmony with the sign’s ruling planet Uranus and opposed by
the Sun in Leo. Of course we get the standard hype related to the
"Aquarian Age" by the astrologers who haven't done their research
into when the Aquarian Age will occur, which we covered way back in the New
World Birth video for January 13th 2013, and is still available on YouTube. If
you've connected with that offering you know that we are over 300 years away
from the Aquarian Age. Which has been hyped as being a time of "spiritual
bliss", but Aquarius represents technology and non-personal humanity,
which reminds me of the Borg-Collective from Star Trek Next Generation, as an
impersonal technology that traveled the universe assimilating others into its
group consciousness. Ironically the characters, I route for in that show
represent the Leo opposition to Aquarius, being willful, creative, strong
individuals. Anyway none of us will be alive in our current incarnation when
the Aquarian Age dawns. This is about finding balance between our social
consciousness (Moon in Aquarius) and being happy, creative, and having fun (Sun
in Leo) with the Moon stimulated by Uranus brings pleasant yet restless
feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the daily routine.
During the Full Moon, Venus is just past conjunction with the North Node it
brings our values to open our hearts to our authentic evolution and release the
past. The Leo Sun wants to be dramatically expressed, feeling tension with the
transpersonal path to reason of the Aquarian Moon. Both Leo and Aquarius are
fixed signs, so I wouldn’t expect any differences to be resolved right away. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus so the
results of this full moon are unpredictable. This is very challenging for folks
with planets at the 24 to 28 degrees of Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus. To
the Native American fishing tribes this is the Full Sturgeon Moon when the
large fish of the Great Lakes and other large bodies of water were more easily
caught. It is also called the Full Red Moon because of its color as it rises.
Other names are the Green Corn Moon and the Grain Moon.
The
19th is
2 – Caban "kah-ban" or Earth: duality
experienced through gratitude for Mother Earth, while Mercury
is opposed by Chiron can bring a greater focus in our thinking regarding issues
that require release to promote healing and can take us more deeply into our
past wounds to allow more organized insights that seek resolution. We may feel
uncomfortable and unsettled as old emotions come to the surface in our conscious
minds so they can be healed. Also on the 19th the Pisces Moon is challenged by Mars
and Saturn, merges with Neptune, harmonizes with Pluto, and is opposed by
Venus. This brings a busy day of emotional stimulus the shifts from people
feeling irritable which could lead to needless disputes, to people feeling lonely or isolated, followed by feelings of empathy for
those around us, including the possibility of clairvoyance and telepathic
experiences for those of us who are sensitive by nature, later experiencing
deep emotions on a profound level, and finally pleasant
energy for enjoying sensual experiences and rich food with a caution against
overindulgence.
August
20th is 3 – Etznab "etz-nob" or Flint:
taking action through being introspective, with the Moon
in Pisces opposed by Mercury and Jupiter which moves from some feeling a real
conflict between feelings and reason and others having fruitful expressions of
their deeper awareness either internally or with another, to feelings
of generosity.
The
21st is 4
– Cauac "cow-ack" or Storm:
stability through recognizing the gifts in adversity, with the Aries Moon
supported by Mars and Saturn, and challenged by Pluto which changes from feeling
a little more confident than usual with the ability to assert ourselves in a
positive manner, to later settling into a more sober and realistic view of life,
and finally having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in
the long run.
August 22nd is 5 – : empowerment through "ah-how"honoring the wisdom and memory of our ancestors, while
the Sun enters Virgo which begins our transition to the next season finishing up
Summer in the north and Winter in the south. This is much more modest,
practical, reserved energy than the Leo energy of the past month. We are more
interested in the mundane details and getting organized. Traditionally Virgo is
ruled by Mercury, but I agree with Barbara Hand Clow that Chiron, the wounded
healer, is the modern ruler of the sign associated with health. This should
bring a shift to more focus on organization, self improvement, criticism, and
service.
Also on the 22nd Mercury conjuncts Jupiter has us looking at the larger issues in life. It helps our
comprehension by seeing the bigger perspective and incorporating new
information. This also brings more tolerance of the view points of others. This
is a time of evaluating our hopes and dreams along with our overall plans for
the future. This can be quite optimistic and particularly good for business and
commercial transactions, contract negotiations, and dealings with the law,
especially if we recognize that we get what we want by helping others fulfill
their needs. Encouragement come naturally during this transit. We are likely
feel our communications are expensive not only in quantity but also in scopes
of topics. Virgo's influence brings experiences, as an expansive idea that flow
right into industrious implementation or at least organization and planning of
what has been revealed. It would be best to avoid being overconfident, as this
may be a time where people over look important details under the influence of
Jupiter. Also
on the 22nd the Moon merges with Uranus and finds support from the Sun which
shifts from people feeling impulsive and acting rashly, with moods changing
quickly and unexpectedly, to later having a sense of harmony within ourselves
and supports any type of group activity and relationships with the opposite
sex.
The 23rd
is 6 – Imix
"e-meesh" or Crocodile: being in the flow through nurturing new beginnings, with the Taurus Moon in harmony
with Neptune and supported by Pluto which moves from greater sensitivity
to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open, to later feeling on a deeper more intense level under the
influence of Pluto.
August 24th is 7 Ik
"eek" or Wind: reflection through communication, with Mars conjunct Saturn
which can be difficult day or so, as people will be more frustrated and
irritable. Not a day to launch a risky or daring endeavourer, because this
energetic doesn't favor success. We have limitation (Saturn) to our vigor
(Mars). This prefers following a well established routine. Older people may
seem more irritating under this influence. Folks may feel anger that they
cannot express and find themselves seething in silence. It would be better to
channel that anger into to some type of hard work, and realize the perception
is temporary. Mars and Saturn have a well deserved bad reputation and during
this time period they square Neptune. Neptune in Pisces and Mars and Saturn in
Sagittarius could have many results some less than pleasant. We’ve been dealing
with Saturn square Neptune since last year creating challenges as Saturn
insists on structure and boundaries, and Neptune dissolves reality, so we look
beyond the material world. Mars adds aggression to the already present
challenging energy. This energy lasts a few days, but should be eased by the
conjunction of Venus and Jupiter on the 27th. Also on the 24th
the last quarter Moon finding support from Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury, and
challenged by the Sun, which changes from enjoying pleasant feelings and social
interactions, to later people having a pleasant sense of wellbeing, followed by
being more in touch with our feelings and able to share them with others, and
finally we encounter challenges to our daily routines.
The
25th is 8 – Akbal
"awk-bol" or Night:
balance through contemplating
the stars, with Venus opposes Chiron, which we may feel as tension in
our relationships or regarding money that brings our past wounds to the
surface, to allow conscious healing. Also on the 25th the
Gemini Moon is opposed by Saturn and Mars, and challenged by Neptune which
shifts from feeling lonely and isolated, followed by opposed by Mars which
influences people to be more excitable and irritable which can cause problems
in our personal lives, and finally daydreams and fantasies feeling more
important than reality.
August 26th is 9 – Kan
"con" or Seed or Lizard: patience
experienced through planting seeds and making new
connections, while Mars squares Neptune which
can be difficult because it brings up a sense of doubt and discouragement. This
also brings energy for confrontations where people feel inadequate and try to
avoid challenges that they hoped would just go away. People also question what
they are doing with their lives. Recognize that this will last a few days so
it's best not to get lost in any hopeless feelings. Neptune can also diminish
our energy (Mars) and decrease our self-confidence. Also on the 26th
the Moon in Gemini in harmony with Uranus, and challenged by Venus, Jupiter,
and Mercury, which moves from pleasant yet restless energy that desires
emotional excitement, to later having pleasant energy to be with friends and
loved ones, followed by benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate
environment, and finally our moods influencing our ability to think rationally.
The 27th is 10 – Chicchan
"chee-chan" or Serpent: manifestation
through being flexible, with Venus conjuncts Jupiter which is one of the most
agreeable transits, unfortunately it only lasts a day. It has a very pleasant
effect on people's moods. Many will be more optimistic, happy, outgoing, kind,
cooperative, and eager. It can also bring folks to indulge themselves and spend
money, as self discipline is at a low. This would be a great day to have any
type of celebration, and of course with Venus love relationships are favored.
Typically, excellent energy for a wedding or a party. It’s also great energy
for expanding creativity and being artistic making things of beauty. Also on the 27th
the Cancer Moon in harmony with the Sun, and supported by Neptune which changes
from feeling balance between our inner and outer worlds, to later our innermost
subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great
for accomplishing much work.
August 28th is 11 –Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: resolution
through
releasing what no longer serves us,
with the Moon in Cancer opposed by Pluto, challenged by Uranus, and in harmony
with Jupiter which shifts from having deep emotions rising to the surface, to later people are likely to act hasty and jump to conclusions, and finally feeling in the flow and having a sense of
wholeness.
The
29th is 12 – : understanding through man-eek" being of service to others, with Mercury conjunct Venus which stimulates our
appreciation of beauty, whether it be art, poetry, music, people, or nature. Its
optimistic in nature and often brings easy going pleasant experiences. This is
a merging of the mental and emotional realms within ourselves, so folks may
experience concepts with emotions or express feelings in an intellectual
manner. This is wonderful for creativity or any type of artistic expression.
People find the right words to express in conversation or in writing. This
transit can be favorable for financial and business dealings, along with
scientific research by seeing patterns in the universe and appreciating them
aesthetically. Also on the 29th Venus enters Libra,
which is the sign ruled by Venus, so this is a happy place for the
"Goddess of Love". People focus more on balancing their relationships
with Venus in Libra. Being an air sign, Venus in Libra is more romantic than
sensual. Certainly the scales bring balance to the aesthetics of Venus, with
people caring more about their appearance. This may influence to create the
right trappings and ambience for romance, such as intimate candle lit dinners,
a beautiful poem written for a lover, or some other charming way to express a
special love for our partners. Also on the 29th the Moon harmonizes with Venus
and Mercury, and finds support from Saturn which moves from having pleasant
energy to be with friends and loved ones, to later being very social and having lots of
conversations, and finally having a sober realistic view of life.
August 30th
is 13 –
Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: movement to the
next stage through being grateful for abundant
relationships, while Mercury turns retrograde
at 29
degrees 3 minutes of Virgo. Even folks who don't follow astrology are aware of
Mercury's retrograde effect on communication, technology and travel. This
begins a time that shifts our review of information below the surface. From the
30th to September 22nd would be a good time to avoid signing contracts or other
legal papers, making any major purchases, or even taking a new job. If you can
postpone these types of activities the terms will be much clearer after Mercury
is moving direct. The retrograde cycle provides information about a change or
correction in our cosmic course. Being
flexible will be key to adapting to the ever shifting information of Mercury in
Virgo. Those with a high need for control will be especially challenged.
Basically the messenger reviewing the past in the sign of the maiden is about organizing
in thinking and conversations related to service or health. Also on the 30th the
Moon in Leo finding support from Mars brings the energy for asserting ourselves in a positive manner and standing our
ground if necessary.
So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Wisdom trecena, take some time to be in the
flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing
with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation
or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas
beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this
world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part.
Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
