This
is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian
date of November 20th 2014 and 1 - Cauac "cow-ack" or Storm in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with the Sun entering Sagittarius, the Sagittarius New
Moon, Chiron turning direct, and
Mercury entering Sagittarius.
November
20th 2014 is 1 - Cauac
"cow-ack" or Storm carries the themes of rain, wind, lightning, giver of life, the cycles of
the moon, the feminine, the warmth of home while inclement weather rages
outside, purification, nourishment,
compassion, emotions, seeing challenges as blessings, healing through the
release of ego, clouds pregnant with rain followed by a flash of lightning and
the release of the storm that cleanses the earth to prepare for new consciousness.
This thirteen day period would be an important time to focus on what is truly
important in life and hold loosely those things that are a distraction to your
essence. Allow the waters of the storm trecena to wash away the false pride and
rigid thinking to create fertile ground for the growth of your integrated and
authentic self.
Since we begin a new Gregorian month during this trecena, I thought I'd discuss
the metaphysics of the upcoming month.
December is the twelfth month and with the digits for 2014, when added together
we get 10, then we add 1 + 0 to tell us that this is a one month in numerology.
Basic
numerology reduces numbers to one through nine, so when we think about that arc
the 1 represents a time of new
beginnings. The
numerology in January and February 2015 repeat November and December 2014 with
January being a nine month and February being a one month, so in December when
people are wrapping up the old Gregorian year the numerology is about
beginnings and in January when folks are wanting to start something new the
numerology is about completing what has begun. The 10 and the 1 are represented
by the Wheel of Fortune and Magician Archetypes in the Tarot cards. The Wheel
of Fortune is about prosperity and abundance that comes from being objective,
flexible, and creative. To quote Ruth Ross "All prosperity begins in the
mind and is dependent only upon the full use of our creative
imaginations." The 1 card is the Magician which represents the principle
of communication, represented by the god Mercury. Words were originally magic.
Another quote to illustrate this comes from Starhawk, "Language shapes
consciousness, and the use of language to shape consciousness is an important
branch of magic." So December represents the
beginning of a new cycle which comes into being through our communications
leading us towards prosperity by being flexible, objective, and creative. This sets powerful new energies in motion that required the
numerological nine month of November to release the old and worn out, whether
it's aspects of self, life situations, attitudes that no longer work, or
concepts, beliefs, or perceptions that have out grown their usefulness, so in
December we can move forward unencumbered.
Before I
get into the daily energy for 1 - Cauac
"cow-ack" or Storm trecena, on the 20th all the
planets appear to be moving forward from our vantage point on Earth except
Chiron, and Uranus
which appear to move retrograde or in reverse motion. Remember the themes of
retrograde planets are the review the past, re-evaluate, reminisce and we can
see these themes being played out. Chiron is at a standstill preparing to turn
direct in Pisces is about releasing stuck emotional energy, so that we can
return to the natural flow of life. Uranus in
Aries is seeking to shake our very foundation through the unexpected rebellion
of the individual. Retrograde Uranus in Aries will have people wanting to hurry
the process of getting free. To push the river of revolution whether it be
personal or political. Being an outer planet, Uranus creates events that we
"respond" to. The inner planets effect us personally as individuals,
but the outer planets change the landscape which effects us as a collective and
as individuals within humanity.
On the 23rd Chiron
turns direct. Chiron retrograde in Pisces is about releasing stuck emotional
energy, so that we can return to the natural flow of life. Chiron is the
wounded healer in Greek mythology. He was a teacher, healer, and astrologer to
the Gods. He was abandoned at birth because his mother objected to her son
being half man and half horse, which was his first wound. When he was teaching
Hercules to use Hydra's blood as poison, Hercules mistakenly hit Chiron in the
leg with a poisoned arrow, but because Chiron was immortal he didn't die. He
suffered the pain of his wounds every day of his life. Chiron eventually traded
his life to have Prometheus released from his imprisonment for stealing fire
and giving it to the human race. Retrograde Chiron has us reviewing our wounds
so that they can be released, by having the courage to open our hearts to any
fear or pain associated with our past. When Chiron is in Pisces people are
willing to sacrifice their individual pain in hopes of finding bliss in
Universal consciousness. At its worst this can manifest as folks justifying
their victimhood as some form of martyrdom. This should be transcendence and
surrender with losing ourselves in the experience. The last time Chiron was in
Pisces was from 1961 to 1968, which was also the time that Uranus and Pluto
were merged in Virgo, planting the seeds for the squares between Pluto and
Uranus that we are currently experiencing. At that time there was a growing
drug culture, as people were looking for a shortcut to transcendence. The
retrograde aspect brings a longing for lost loves and the memories of our
losses, encouraging us to return to look at our core wounds and bring them to
the surface so they can be healed. Another trap of Chiron in Pisces is
codependent relationships where we focus on healing others rather than
ourselves. Chiron turning direct in November, so this time of exploring the
depths of our psyche will shift from being an internal experience to being
mirrored in our external environment and experiences.
Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena. November 20th
2014 is 1
- Cauac "cow-ack" or Storm: unity experienced
through recognizing the gifts in adversity in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, with Venus square Neptune which is an alignment between
planet octaves. Venus representing personal love and Neptune representing
unconditional and universal love. The romantic imagination is active under this
transit, which can lead to unrealistic expectations regarding loved ones.
Please remember your partner is a mere mortal, by not holding them to an
impossible romantic ideal that no one could or should try to attain.
Relationships that are damaged by this transit are not usually based on
reality. This is positive for daydreaming that leads to artistic expression.
Overall we are likely to feel an expansion in compassion and empathy which
benefits activities like meditation, music and art which may seem transcendent,
but not such a great day for business on the material plane. Also on the 20th the Scorpio Moon finds support
from Neptune and harmonizes with Pluto, which shifts the days energy from our innermost
subconscious fantasies and daydreams confusing reality, which may not be great
for accomplishing much work, to later experiencing deep emotions on a profound
level. The 21st is 2 - : duality experienced through
"ah-how"
honoring the wisdom and memory of our ancestors, while Mercury sextiles Mars, which brings
a busy day with folks having more energy than usual for their own projects.
This is a day where working for someone else's benefit does not inspire
diligence but more likely resentment. If you can use the day to work on what's
of interest to you, it will seem like a good use of all this energy. Since
others are feeling the same way, plan on working independently of others. There
is energy for convincing others of your point of view, but they also have the
energy to convince you of their perspective. This might be a day to avoid
people and conversations that could lead to arguments, because this has a
competitive edge to it. We can be confident in our ideas and beliefs to
initiate something that should be successful as long as we don't need others to
bring it to fruition. Also on the
21st the Moon in Scorpio harmonizes with Mars, merges with Mercury, and is
challenged by Jupiter which moves from having the desire to work
independently from others, to later having positive energy for integrating our
thoughts and moods, and finally brings benevolent and generous feelings for
those in our immediate environment.
November 22nd is 3 - Imix
"e-meesh" or Crocodile: taking action through nurturing new beginnings, while the Sun enters Sagittarius which illuminates travel,
education, expanding our horizons, and planning for upcoming festivities. This
begins a month with more of a focus on discovering new ideas, philosophy, being
at the right place at the right time and overall a quality of optimism. The
Moon follows the Sun in to Sagittarius for the New Moon at zero degrees 7
minutes, which is fresh new energy to replace what we have released during the
month. Scorpio is the death of the old and from that transformation this new
moon wants to expand in a new direction. The Sagittarius New Moon on the 22nd, challenged by
Neptune, and merging with the Sun and Venus. Sagittarius illuminates travel,
education, adventure, expanding our horizons, and planning for upcoming holiday
season. Ruled by Jupiter, this new moon represents faith, confidence and
abundance. Sagittarius resists responsibility and confinement, seeking to
remain free. This brings more focus on discovering new ideas, philosophy, being
at the right place at the right time and overall a quality of optimism. Neptune
adds the quality of daydreams and fantasies feeling more important than
reality, and Venus brings cheerful, warm, gregarious feelings and wanting to go
out and socialize. New Moons bring the opportunity to set an intension for manifestation
on the following full moon. Look to the house of your astrology chart that
contains 0 degrees Sagittarius to consider what area of your life is being
activated by this new moon. For me that would be my 6th house of service and
health, so I would set an intension related to using this energy, such as
finding new ways to serve others and improve my health through higher
education, travel, and other activities that expand my point of view. Fiery Sagittarius brings in spiritual
elements into the new moon, so there is a spiritual purpose aligned with
the new opportunities that are opening up. This
social New Moon begins the energy that we associate with holiday parties. Also on the 22nd Mercury squares, new moon ruler Jupiter usually
brings feelings of optimism and positive perspective regarding life. People are
inclined to set long range plans and goals for the future, from a place of
seeing the big picture. This is also favorable for business deals and
commercial transactions. If you are unaware of this transit you could overlook
details that are important to the creation of your overall grand vision. Also
be careful about communicating to others in a way that may be seen as arrogant
or self righteous in tone. Awareness is key to working with this energy. Don't
let this much optimism lead to sloppiness and overlooking important details. The 23rd is 4 - Ik "eek" or Wind: stability through communication, while Chiron turns direct which helps use
implement changes to our lives to promote healing the wounds we became aware
during Chiron's retrograde cycle which started last June. Also on the 23rd the Moon in Sagittarius
finds support from Uranus and Jupiter which begins with a desire for
emotional excitement to engage in activities outside our daily routine and wraps up with people having a
pleasant sense of wellbeing. November 24th
is 5 - Akbal
"awk-bol" or Night: empowerment through contemplating the stars, with the Capricorn Moon in harmony
with Neptune which brings a greater sensitivity to others' emotions with possible
psychic impressions for those who are open. The 25th is 6 - Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: being in the flow through planting seeds and making new connections, while Mercury
merges with Saturn in
Scorpio. Mercury conjunct Saturn makes folks cautious. On the positive side we
are more precise in our thinking, and detail oriented in our communication. If
you previously outlined a general plan, this allows you to fill in the details.
Critical thinking is very sharp and can see flaws in any argument including our
own. This transit can be an obstacle for seeing the big picture. We can see the
distinction of the different trees but not the forest. At worst this can create
difficulty in communication, because we may be afraid to reveal something, so
we say nothing due to negative thinking that often accompanies this transit.
This is the time to speak up because what is not expressed can injure someone.
Overall this requires discipline, and commitment to our ethics and values. Also on the 25th the Moon in Capricorn
merges with Pluto and is challenged by Uranus where we have more intense
moods rising to the surface from deep in our psyches, while folks act hasty and jump to conclusions that
may not be correct. November 26th is 7 - Chicchan
"chee-chan" or Serpent: reflection through being flexible, with Venus trine
Uranus
which wants social experiences and romantic encounters to be outside the norm,
unusual, and surprising. This is a great day to try something out of the
ordinary. The daily routine will just not cut it under this influence. Folks
are looking to do something stimulating in their social lives and
relationships. A day when there may be unique encounters and love relationships
that begin under this influence are exciting, electric, unstable and short, but
have a strong potential to change our lives. This could also bring
unconventional agreements in our relationship such as agreeing to change from
an exclusive coupling to experimenting with having other lovers. Experiencing
different types of entertainment is also favored by this transit, by enjoying
music, art, or theater that is outside your normal choices. Also on the 26th
the Sun squares Neptune, which brings a low
energy day which seems to take more energy to complete the normal daily tasks.
If possible this would be a day have a lighter schedule and more time for rest.
Some will feel a little beaten down by this transit, so this is not a good day
for work that requires courage or great self confidence. Don't get discouraged,
this energy only lasts a day. The Sun is challenged by Neptune obscuring
clarity and focus, and can feel like a low energy day, but also illuminates our
creativity. Also on the 26th the
Moon merges with Mars, and harmonizes with Saturn, Mercury, and the Sun, which
brings shifting emotional energy to the day that begins with experiencing
irritable moods and critical communications, then having realistic expectations
through being calm and reflective, later being
very social and having lots of conversations, and finally having feelings of inner
and outer equanimity. The 27th is 8 Cimi
"key-mee" or Transformation: balance through releasing what no longer serves us, while Mercury moves into Sagittarius which ushers in an optimistic view of life, a sense of faith, and
seeing the big picture. This brings three weeks when people prize freedom of
expression and find censorship less bearable. This also brings a restlessness
to our thoughts as we might find ourselves dreaming about exploring different
cultures and longing to travel. Education is also favored under Mercury in
Sagittarius, whether it's through reading, exploring new ideas, or learning
about other people. Joining the Sun in the sign of the happy wanderer, they
work together on similar goals with a new sense of purpose. Also on the 27th
Venus square Chiron makes us aware of our wounds related to others and the
harming and healing nature of relationships.
Also on the 27th the Aquarius
Moon harmonizes with Uranus and Venus which brings pleasant yet restless
feelings craving emotional excitement to do something outside the daily
routine, and later wanting to be with friends and the people we love. November
28th is 9
- : patience
experienced through man-eek"being of service to others, with the
Moon opposed by Jupiter, and challenged by Saturn and Mercury, which begins
with feelings
of generosity, than shifts to people feeling
lonely or isolated, and finally having our moods influence our ability to think
rationally. The
29th is 10
- Lamat "la-maught" or Star
or Rabbit:
manifestation through being grateful for abundant
relationships, with the fir5st quarter Moon in Pisces merging with Neptune,
challenged by the Sun and Venus, and in harmony with Pluto. The days energy
shifts from feelings
of empathy for those around us, including the possibility of clairvoyance and
telepathic experiences for those of us who are sensitive by nature, to having
challenges to following a daily routine, then later having deep emotions
finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level, and finally
having pleasant energy for being with the others we want to know better. November
30th is 11 - Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: resolution through appreciating
creation, while Mercury squares Neptune which can confuse communication but
also favors creative and spiritual activities. Watch out for exaggeration and
boasting, and some will cross over into outright lying. Mercury is also
communication, and in aspect to Neptune for a day or so we have potential for
confusion about the details of mundane daily events but a wonderful potential
to connect with spiritual realms through being in nature and engaging in inner
work. Overall it's best to carefully formulate exactly what you wish to
communicate, because if it could be misunderstood, it probably will.
Daydreaming is to be expected under this influence. Not a great day for
negotiations or signing contracts as these activities will not be clear under
the Neptunian fog. Also on the 30th the Pisces Moon is stimulated by
Mars and finds support from Saturn which moves from the desire to work
independently from others, to later having a sober realistic view of life. December 1st is 12 - Oc
"awk" or Dog: understanding through enjoying family and friends,
while Mars sextiles
Saturn, which is great for projects that require diligence and planning.
Saturn gives focus to Mars' high energy, so this is not flamboyant like some
other Martian alignments. This is a great energetic for a sustained effort
particularly on tasks that require attention to detail. This is a day of
putting effort towards a goal that will be fulfilled in the future. It's
practical and does not mind deferring the results to another day. This gives
people discipline and self restraint, as long as the gratification of the day's
labor is not delayed indefinitely. Also
on the 1st the Aries Moon finds support from Mercury, and the Sun, challenged
by Pluto and merges with Uranus. The days lunar energy moves from being
more in touch with our feelings and able to share them with others, to having a
sense of harmony within ourselves and supports any type of group activity and
relationships with the opposite sex, then later having the compulsion to act in
ways that may not be good for us in the long run, and finally people feeling
impulsive and acting rashly, with moods changing quickly and unexpectedly. December
2nd is 13 - Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey:
movement to the next stage through
creating something new, with the Moon in Aries finding support from Venus and
Jupiter, and challenged by Mars, which moves from enjoying pleasant
feelings and social interactions, then later having feelings of inner and outer
equanimity, and finally the potential for people to be irritable and have
needless disputes.
So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Storm trecena, take
some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a
sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment
through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is
a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the
performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe
the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a
human experience.
