Human Design Neutrino Forecast for January 2014

This is the "January Neutrino Forecast for 2014".
Human Design is based on four ancient wisdom systems as a bridge to understanding our potential, to discover our path to making decisions that are correct for us as individuals: those are the traditions of Astrology, the I'Ching, the Hindu Brahmin Chakra system, and Kabalistic Tree of Life. You're probably wondering how these systems work together in HD? We start by looking at the position of the Sun, Moon, Planets, and Nodes as we would in astrology, except instead of relating them to the Zodialogical constellations and each other by the angles they make, we look at them in relation to the hexagrams of the I'Ching, which are then mapped to specific locations in the body graph. For instance at the beginning of January we have the Sun in Capricorn also in the 38th hexagram. The shapes inside the body graph are called centers and represent the next stage in our evolution as humans from having seven chakras to having nine centers. The pathways between the centers are called channels and are from the Kabala. The black strips of paper in this diagram represent the gates activated by the Sun, Planets, and Nodes regardless if they form a channel. I'm not going to follow the moon with this demonstration, because it moves so fast that it activates three to four gates a day.
The Sun in the 38th hexagram is mapped to an opening in an energy channel called a gate, which is the 38th gate of "The fighter (opposition): the ability to preserve individual integrity through opposition to detrimental forces", located on the middle left edge of the Root center in a individual energy path called "Struggle" when connected to the 28. I have found HD to be so amazingly accurate that I use it as my primary tool when I provide readings. We have the following hanging gates or potentials at the beginning of January; the Sun in the 38th gate, the Earth in the 39th gate, North node in the 28th gate and the South Node in the 27, Mercury also in the 38th gate, Venus in the 60, Mars in the 48, Jupiter in the 53, Saturn in the 43, Uranus in the 17, Neptune in the 55, and Pluto in the 38. Obviously not every gate activation forms a channel, but this information can be very helpful if you know your own Human Design chart, because some of these transits will form channels with potentials in your personal body graph. You can get your HD chart by going to jovianarchive.com, clicking on the button that says "Get your free Rave Chart", and entering your birth information.
Almost all January we have the Channel of Struggle and this time with Pluto and the North Node creating the definition we've been feeling the struggle for months and will continue until the 31st. This brings experiences where people struggle against overwhelming odds. It is through this archetypal "hero's journey" of fighting for our purpose that empowers others to stubbornly fight for what holds meaning for them. This is about empowerment that comes from being who we are meant to be instead of following the conditioning of our families, schools, religions and governments. As an individual channel it is said to be deaf, so folks don't hear the other and become distracted from their authentic path. To me the key to utilizing this energetic is that the struggle is worthwhile when you are fighting for something that has meaning and purpose in your life. We'll have several months to learn from our struggles or simply be conditioned by them. Follow your Human Design strategy and authority and your purpose will unfold. This reminds me of a chrysalis when the caterpillar is in the cocoon in the pupa stage, it has to struggle to emerge as a butterfly. And through this struggle it develops the mechanics that it needs for its transformed vehicle. If it is freed from the cocoon without experiencing the work of liberating itself, it will not have what it needs to survive as a butterfly. My experience of friends with this channel is that I have to make them wait when they seek my guidance. If I try to answer their questions too soon, the answer will not be accepted or applied. They also seem to need to stay in a disagreeable situation longer than most folks. As a metaphor, let's say the well is running dry, most people move on because the last few buckets of water are going to have some mud in them. But the folks I know with the channel of struggle are putting in the effort to not only get the water from those bucketfuls, but also scraping the bottom of the well for any residual moisture. I think that when these people leave a situation, they know there is nothing left to go back for. They have extracted the last bit of wisdom from any situation before letting it go. Those of us with definition in the integration channels also need to realize that the 28 gate siphons that instinct for survival into their struggle. I have the 34, so I have seen my power depleted by the struggle of others. Of course I'm conscious of this and these are people I care about.
Also as we begin January the Earth is in the 39 connecting with Neptune in the 55 bringing the Channel of Emoting, until January 5th, which will be a time period when people feel pressure in the form of an emotional wave. The best way to deal with this level of sensitivity is to appreciate the lows as well as the highs. Recognizing that it is all part of our human experience and is temporary for those of us who don't have this channel in our birth charts. This can bring lessons that yield wisdom as long as we can stay present in moving from hope to despair and back to hope in this cycle. We can tap into great creativity by fueling our melancholy or feeling "blue" into some form of artistic expression. This brings deeply romantic and acoustic sensitivity so listening to music or talking with a loved one is favored.
On January 1st we have the Sun in the 38th hexagram which the Rave I'Ching describes as "The fighter (opposition): the ability to preserve individual integrity through opposition to detrimental forces ". It's in the 2nd line of the 38th hexagram on the 1st at 00:00 EST [midnight]. The Sun is exalted in the 38.2 because of Pluto's presence also in the second line, a rare union for the Gregorian New Year, and keynoted as "Politeness: opposition that does not transgress normal codes of behavior. The value of discretion", until 4:05 pm EST when the Sun shifts to the 3rd line, where it's also naturally exalted as "Alliance: The ability to sustain through integration with similar forces, thus ensuring the vitality to persevere. The energy to integrate with others in times of struggle". We'll be talking about the Rave New Year in a moment, but let's consider what people celebrating the "new beginning" with New Years 2014 will experience: The 38 (opposition), and its polarity the 39 (obstruction), provocative energy which can create dilemmas and situations, not an energy for completion. We'll get to that when we discuss the gate before the 41, 60 (limitation). This is the "Cross of Tension", folks are feeling tension on New Year Day, not completion. If anything we are looking backward and reviewing whether the time leading up to this day we have achieved our purpose to fulfill our spirit. This is the beginning of closing down the cycle leading to the Rave New year. Was there a purpose?
On the 2nd Mercury moves from the 38 to the 54, also retrograde Venus moves from the 60 to the 61. In HD Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods, is communication, expansion of human consciousness through communications not just as words but also music. What do you need to communicate in this life? This might be experienced as a time where people are communicating more about their "Ambition to rise up the social ladder of tribal support, on its mundane social context, but also through one's mystical and cosmic relationships." The first line of "influence" where folks might enter into discussions through secret relationships to achieve influence and increase power. In HD, Venus is very powerful and deeply misunderstood. It brings morality, natural law in which we deal with the other and the consequences of the world around us. What disturbs you at a moral level? The moral dilemma you're going to work with in your life. If you do not act with moral clarity, Venus can be nasty in its retribution. The 61 is the gate of "mystery, the inner truth, the awareness of universal underlying principals." Venus is detrimented in the first line of "Occult knowledge", but because Venus is retrograde or appearing to move backwards from our perspective here on Earth, it enters in the sixth line of "Appeal: which can be inspiration that brings clarity to the collective or the delusion of doing so." This might make acting with moral clarity difficult to determine, so as always strategy and authority is the only safe bet. On the 2nd the Sun moves into the 4th line of the 38 at 2:09 pm EST, where the Sun is exalted due to Pluto once again, which is described as "investigation: Analysis which strengthens opposition. The energy to recognize who can be of value in times of struggle".
On the 3rd the Sun moves into the 5th line of the 38th hexagram at 12:13 pm EST. Pluto in gate 38, detriments the Sun in the 38.5 as "Alienation: A stage in opposition when one is totally isolated. Detrimented it's the energy for stubbornness so strong that it is difficult to recognize that there are others that can help in times of struggle."
On the 4th the Sun moves into the 6th line of the 38th hexagram at 10:17 am EST. The Sun in the 38.6 is "Misunderstanding: Opposition without basis. Energy which attracts misunderstanding and stubbornness to face opposition." Exalted, there is energy to clear up misunderstanding. Detrimented, there is stubbornness to maintain one's position as the root of the struggle is misunderstanding.
On the 5th the Sun moves from the 38 to the 54 and the Earth moves from the 39 to the 53 gate. This shift happens at 8:21 am EST with the Sun in the 54th gate of "Ambition (The Marrying Maiden); Interaction in its mundane social context but also one's mystical and cosmic relationships", in the 1st line "Influence, the ambition energized through secret relationships which fuel influence, or the ambition which demands formal recognition limiting influence." As we are progressing towards the Rave New Year, The Sun in the Marrying Maiden has the Earth in the 53 (beginnings). This begins the real process, we've hit the stage where we are really here to look clearly. Coming from the 38 we are asking "have we found purpose in this life" or in the previous cycle. The 54 is ambition, transformation and the 53 is about beginning to look forward. Who are my allies? Who can I work with? Who can I trust and rely on?
On the 6th Mercury moves from the 54 to the 61 joining Venus. Again Mercury is communication. What do you need to communicate in the 61? Your inner truth! The first line is detrimented with Mercury, "Occult knowledge, where the pressure to know the mysteries can be so strong that one can be eventually incapable of handling exoteric realities." This begins a time period where folks will be discussing the mystical, and engaged in thinking about knowing the unknowable. The Sun moves into the 2nd line of the 54th hexagram on the 6th at 6:25 am EST. The Sun in the 54.2 is keynoted as "Discretion: The energy of restraint fuels ambition as the positive and ambition energy which can fuel disloyalty as the negative."
January 7th we have the Sun in the 54th hexagram in the 3rd line at 4:30 am EST. Which is "Covert interaction: The drive when blocked to use secret means or attraction to fuel ambition and overcome the obstacle".
On the 8th retrograde Jupiter moves from the 53 to the 39, also Mars moves from the 48 into the 57. In Human Design Mars is an extraordinary and immature energy resource, that lacks refinement, and demands that we slowly refine the energy to maturity over time by following our strategy and authority. Mars energy is subject to outbursts, in the 57 "the Gentle, the extraordinary power of clarity," it is detrimented in both the 4th and 6th lines. Overall this brings more energy to our intuitive insight. Jupiter, in HD is generalized law, electromagnetic central operating theater for the way in which the solar system operates.  Living by the law can gain great good fortune. Activations in HD chart tell the law we must live by. To benefit from the generosity only comes from deep obedience to honoring your own law. And Jupiter in 39th gate of the "Provocateur" this is about honoring our obstructions for they provoke analysis, assessment and reevaluation. Since Jupiter is retrograde, we enter at the 6th line of "The Troubleshooter: the natural gift for solving problems." With Jupiter in the 39 connecting with Neptune in the 55 this brings back the Channel of Emoting, until March 14th 2014, which will be a time period when people feel pressure in the form of an emotional wave. Also on the 8th the Sun moves into the 4th line of the 54 at 2:34 am EST, which is described as "Enlightenment or endarkenment: Here in this most mystical of positions, there is neither an exaltation nor a detriment, for in truth, they are the same".

On the 9th Mercury moves from the 61 to the 60 to expand human consciousness through communications about limitation and its acceptance. In the first line Mercury is detrimented "Restless energy when confronted with external limitations." Also on the 9th the Sun moves into the 5th line of the 54th hexagram at 12:39 am EST. The Sun is exalted in the 54.5 as "Magnanimity: The natural authority and actualizing spirit, that in a position of power, can have genuine and fruitful relationships with the less advantaged." Then later on the 9th the Sun moves into the 6th line of the 54th hexagram at 10:44 pm EST. The Sun in the 54.6 is "Selectivity: The energy to restrict relationships that hinder ambition or the waste of energy in maintaining those types of relationships."
On the 10th the Sun moves from the 54 to the 61 and the Earth moves from the 53 to the 62. This shift happens at 8:49 pm EST with the Sun in the 61st gate of "Mystery (Inner Truth); The awareness of universal underlying principals", and detrimented in the 1st line "of occult knowledge, where a reliance on secret knowledge increasingly demands ascetic withdrawal and leads to obscurity" With the Earth in the 62nd gate of details and Uranus in the 17th gate of opinions we have the Channel of Acceptance until the 16th. This is part of the understanding circuit of logical collective channels and brings the ability to see the bigger picture without getting bogged down in the details. It will be important during this definition to look at all the relevant facts and details or this vision will falter. It's a projected channel, so its expression needs to be invited. So keep your detailed knowledge of the bigger picture to yourself unless it's asked for, if you want to avoid boring people with unnecessary detail. This is a time folks will be more organized and looking to improve logical patterns for the future, that can be shared with the collective. We continue progressing towards the Rave New Year, with the Sun in the 61 (inner truth) and the Earth in the 62 (details). Looking back has the purpose and spirit been fulfilled? Looking back at who has been there for you and who has not, to lay the ground work for a new beginning. And then we look within ourselves for inspiration, based on facts. Based on what is possible. Based on our authority and power to realize our potential.
The Sun moves into the 2nd line of the 61st hexagram on the 11th at 6:54 pm EST. The Sun in the 61.2 is keynoted as "Natural brilliance: A gift for inspiration that is both attractive and beneficial to others, or a delusion that inspiration deserves recognition."
On the 12th Mercury moves from the 60 to the 41 to emphasize communications about being under pressure to begin a new emotional experience in the gate of "Contraction (Decrease): the limitation of resources which maximizes development of potential." Mercury is detrimented in the 1st line of "Reasonableness: The appropriate delegation of responsibility. Detrimented, the hothead, the tendency in understanding, to assume capability, leading to strain and the urge to release feelings". Also on the 12th retrograde Venus moves from the 61 to the 54.  Venus is traditionally represented by the five pointed star, and the female goddesses. In Human Design, she is about morality, natural law in which we deal with the other and the consequences of the world around us. What disturbs you at a moral level? In the Marrying Maiden we might find the ambitions of others or yourself, as a moral dilemma you're going to work with in your life. The 54 is the gate of "Ambition". Venus is detrimented in the first line of "Influence" and the 3rd line of "Covert action", but because Venus is retrograde or appearing to move backwards from our perspective here on Earth, it enters in the sixth line of "Selectivity: The energy to restrict relationships that hinder ambition or the waste of energy in maintaining those types of relationships" bringing some moral clarity to our relationships or not. January 12th we have the Sun in the 61st hexagram in the 3rd line at 4:59 pm EST. Which is "Interdependence: It is exceedingly difficult for truth to stand alone. The pressure to know enhanced through collaboration or impatience with others and the forsaking of relationships".
On the 13th the Sun moves into the 4th line of the 61 at 3:05 pm EST, which is described as "Research: The pressure to know the fundamental principals or the illusion that collaboration will enhance inspiration".
On the 14th the Sun moves into the 5th line of the 61st hexagram at 1:11 pm EST. The Sun in the 61.5 is "influence: The pressure to know that may result in influence and wisdom or resent challenges and demand acceptance."
On the 15th the Sun moves into the 6th line of the 61st hexagram at 11:17 am EST. The Sun in the 61.6 is "Appeal: The profound attunement to the collective that can lure the public to the truth or a reliance on clichés and slogans that fall on deaf ears."
On the 16th Mercury moves from the 41 to the 19. Mercury in the gate of the "Waiting (Approach): That all things are interrelated is apparent and manifested through the action of approach." This is tribal and about resources to support our extended families. Although this refers to the material plane, it's also a gate in one of the three Mystical Channels. I'd expect to hear an increase in communication about social needs. Also on the 16th the Sun moves from the 61 to the 60 and the Earth moves from the 62 to the 56. This shift happens at 9:23 am EST with the Sun in the 60th gate of "Acceptance (Limitation); The acceptance of limitation is the first step in transcendence", and in the 1st line "Harmonic energy that can deal with external limitations or restless energy when confronted with external limitations." We continue progressing towards the Rave New Year, with the Sun in the gate of limitations, which is a time of letting go. Letting go of the seduction of the mind. Letting go of insecurities driving us to believe we need to make something happen. Closing the book on the past to be ready to step forward into a new cycle. To get clean. This is about transcending limitation through acceptance. Let go of being "not-self". Letting go of the constant bombardment of dilemmas that our minds present to us, that distract us from our authentic promise. To trust ourselves through our strategy and authority. Give up the game of trying to allow our minds to control our destiny.
The Sun moves into the 2nd line of the 60th hexagram on the 17th at 7:29 am EST. The Sun is detrimented in the 60.2 which is keynoted as "Decisiveness: The adaptation to restraint that becomes habitual and maintains the nature of limitation even when it no longer exists."
January 18th we have the Sun in the 60th hexagram in the 3rd line at 5:35 am EST. Which is "Conservatism: The energy to either maintain identity and security despite limitations or ignores limitations and pays the price".
On the 19th Mercury moves from the 19 to the 13. Mercury in the gate of the "Listener (the fellowship of man)" brings an expansion of human consciousness through communications regarding "universal ideas and values in an ordered framework which inspires humanistic cooperation." So we will probably hear more about topics like the "Age of Aquarius" as a depersonalization for the good of the whole, which by the way will not occur for almost 400 years. But people are being conditioned by the belief that it has happened or is about to happen. I'd expect folks will share their experiences, as we all find ourselves in the role of the witness for a few days. On the 19th the Sun moves into the 4th line of the 60 at 3:42 am EST, which is described as "Resourcefulness: The reasoned and intelligent maximization of potential within limitations or the energy to know rather than to accept limitations at the expense of possible mutation, leading to depression".
On the 20th the Sun moves into the 5th line of the 60th hexagram at 1:48 am EST. The Sun in the 60.5 is "Leadership: the energy that can handle dealing with limitations or not." Then later on the 20th the Sun moves into the 6th line of the 60th hexagram at 11:55 pm EST. The Sun in the 60.6 is "Rigidity: To recognize when absolute rigidity is essential but with innovative applications to lesson severity, or uncompromising and severe acceptance of restraint that becomes unbearable."
On the 21st the Sun moves from the 60 to the 41 and the Earth moves from the 56 to the 31. This shift happens at 10:02 pm EST with the Sun in the 41st gate of "Contraction (Decrease); The limitation of resources which maximizes development of potential", and in the 1st line "Reasonableness, the appropriate delegation of responsibility. Imagination to make the best out of very little or a tendency in understanding, to assume capability, leading to strain."
The 64 hexagrams have corresponding codons in DNA, and the 41st is the only initiating codon; that begins every string of genetic information. Every genetic sentence begins with the 41st gate, which is in the stream of "The Human Experiential Wave", through the 30 "Fate", then the 36 "Crisis", and finally the 35 "Expectations". This is the stream of desire for experience. Entry of the Sun in the 41st gate initiates a new human cycle on this plane. The 41 comes out of the root, which is a pressure center, so we have the pressure to start something. The Sun in the gate of decrease, in the channel of desire, we have the RAVE NEW YEAR. This influences all forms of life at the beginning of a new solar cycle. "Decrease" is like the gardener who cuts the plant back so that it can sprout anew.
In looking at the Rave New Year chart we have two channels and single definition. This brings focus, without the ability to reflect on the different aspects, as the single definition flows continuously. Single definitions, particularly with all individual channels do not need the other to assist them. This may be a year where the conditioning is "We don't have a problem, you have a problem." These are both individual channels so they bring melancholy.
This is a time of struggling when there is little available, people feel like they are on their own, and in the "not-self" world people are looking for allies, with Venus detrimented in the 54.1, they will be socially misguided. Looking for recognition that ultimately diminishes their power. Pluto is exalted in the 38.3, there is pressure to fight and integrate with others in times of struggle. Connected to the north Node in the gate of the game player, the fear of death leading to the search for purpose, in the 28.1, preparation, the intuition for details to be potentially applied or not. Leading to Mars detrimented in the 57.6, the intuitive clarity that points to a problem one is unable to solve due to circumstances, which can lead to frustration and anger coming from the struggle.
Then we turn to the mirror image of the struggle, with Jupiter exalted in the 39.5 and Neptune exalted in the 55.4 we have moodiness and stimulation. It is interesting about these exaltations, the planets exalt each other. Neptune is exalted in the 39.5 where Jupiter resides, and Jupiter is exalted in the 55.4 where Neptune resides. This is a very important life force experienced through the emotional wave moving from hope to despair and back to hope, which can be tapped for tremendous creativity. For folks that are not emotionally defined this can be unsettling. This year speaks to the rare ability not to overcome, but to bypass obstacles, inevitably leading to expansion and prosperity. Of course it's very important to understand it is "inevitable", that doesn't means it's immediate. It takes time. With a defined solar plexus this year it's deeply emotional, meaning "no truth in the now". Truth is not something that's going to be there this year. There's going to be confusion with Neptune in the 55 and Jupiter is the law in the 39. With this confusion about the law, it becomes very important to honor your own law, by following your strategy and authority.
Whenever I look at an event that can be used as a forecast for an upcoming time period, I consider the South Node as the first half of that period and the North Node as the second half. So the first six months of the Rave New Year is governed by the 27.1 detrimented and the second half by the 28.1. So the not-self world moves from envy and its attendant misfortunes, to using intuition to apply energy to detail or not.
Of course we are moving towards 2027 and the end of the "Cross of Planning", as the background frequency is going to insist that we have our own authority to guide us, because we will not have an infrastructure to support us. We are all seeing this as basic support structures that have been in place through governments and institutions continue to dwindle. As Ra has said in the past "Never mind this year. It isn't going to track any better over the years building up to 2027, because we have the slow breakdown of the 40-37 community infrastructure. It's not about waiting for a new year's forecast that's going to be full of light and brightness. Because it's not what's happening. You have to see that the counter point of the dissolving of the infrastructure is the empowering of the individual. This is the only counterpoint, what your strategy and authority offers you is the empowerment of you as an individual. To align yourself to the frequency that is truly you... Best wishes on this rave new year, may you live it as yourself."
On the 22nd retrograde Venus moves from the 54 to the 38. Venus is very powerful and deeply misunderstood. She brings morality, natural law in which we deal with the other and the consequences of the world around us. What disturbs you at a moral level regarding opposition? Venus in the gate of the "Fighter: The ability to preserve individual integrity through opposition to detrimental forces." Venus backs into the 6th line of "Misunderstanding: Opposition without basis". The moral dilemma of the 38 is the preservation of authenticity and integrity, even if it means confrontation. The Sun moves into the 2nd line of the 41st hexagram on the 22nd at 8:09 am EST. The Sun in the 41.2 which is keynoted as "Caution: Humanism tempered by pragmatism. A conservative nature that does not risk its own security in aiding others or throwing caution to the wind, depleting valuable resources for temporary recognition"

On the 23rd Mercury moves from the 13 to the 49. Also Mars moves from the 57 into the 32. In HD Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods, is communication, expansion of human consciousness through communication not just as words but also music. What do you need to communicate in this life? The 49 is Revolution, the gate of "Principals: Ideally the transformation of forms based on the highest principals and not simply for power." People will probably be communicating about redistribution of resources to support their tribes. Mars in the 32nd gate of "Continuity (Duration); The only thing that endures is change", brings extraordinary and immature energy to "transformation". In the first line we have Mars detrimented in "Conservation: The uncontrollable urge to bypass essentials which inevitably leads to the disruption of continuity." Both Mercury and Mars have moved into tribal gates bringing more energy to topics of support and resources. January 23rd we have the Sun in the 41st hexagram in the 3rd line at 6:17 pm EST. Which is "Efficiency: In times of decrease selfishness is justified. The energy that fuels the feeling for either personal ambition or the feeling to share".
On the 24th the Sun moves into the 4th line of the 41 at 4:24 pm EST, which is described as "Correction: Successful adaptation to limitation. Survival of the fittest and its eventual flourishing or the expenditure of energy on maintaining relationships that are costly, no matter how attractive".
On the 25th the Sun moves into the 5th line of the 41st hexagram at 2:31 pm EST. The Sun in the 41.5 is "Authorization: The external recognition of one's potential despite limitations."
On the 26th Mercury moves from the 49 to the 30. Again Mercury is communication. What needs to be communicated in this 30? Fate! This is the gate of "Recognition of feelings (The clinging fire): Freedom recognized as illusion and limitation as fate." In the first line it's "Composure: Balance in the face of disorder. Stability and balance through feelings, with the potential to hold on to them." Mercury in the 30 connected to the Sun in the 41, we have the Channel of Recognition until the 27th. This gives us a day to dream, for the sake of the dream, without the expectation of the dream coming true or bringing lasting peace. This is part of the abstract collective circuitry, so sharing experiences about our hopes and dreams with others will have a profound ability to stir their feelings. I'd expect folks to be more restless in their experience of a connection between the Root and Solar Plexus, also for those who do not have emotional definition this channel and Emoting can bring the unfamiliar wave of emotions, yearning to feel in order to learn. On the 26th the Sun moves into the 6th line of the 41st hexagram at 12:39 pm EST. The Sun in the 41.6 is "Contagion: The law that the maximization of potential not only ends decrease, but inevitably such transcendence benefits others."
On the 27th the Sun moves from the 41 to the 19 and the Earth moves from the 31 to the 33. This shift happens at 10:47 am EST with the Sun in the 19th gate of "Waiting (Approach): That all things are interrelated is apparent and manifested through the action of approach", and is exalted in the 1st line "Interdependence, The successful approach that does not lose its individual character in acceptance." With the entry of the Sun in the 19th hexagram is where we feel the pressure of a new year beginning. The pressure to needs. Need to have enough food, not just for you, but for your tribe, and maybe even some extra, in case someone from the extended tribe needs resources. To have all the needs that are rooted in the material demands living in the tribe and community. The needs related to home and family. The pressure to have the needed resources begins with the Sun in the 19th gate.
The Sun moves into the 2nd line of the 19th hexagram on the 28th at 8:55 am EST. The Sun in the 19.2 which is keynoted as "Service: The dedication of personal resources as a result of external contact. Dedication and service to the highest values or indecision that eventually leads to compliance."
January 29th we have the Sun in the 19th hexagram in the 3rd line at 7:03 am EST. Which is "Dedication: Receptivity to approach can only be maintained through vigilance. Sensitivity and ease fueled by acceptance of others or the need to be wanted hampered by over sensitivity".
On the 30th the Sun moves into the 4th line of the 19 at 5:12 am EST, which is described as "The team player: Individual approach which attracts and accepts cooperation. The energy to seek out and exalt in the company of others or a sensitivity energized by the limitation of others".
On the 31st the North Node moves from the 28 to the 50 and the South Node moves from the 27 to the 3. Also Mercury moves from the 30 to the 55, emphasizing communications about the abundance of spirit where it joins Neptune. The 55 is keynoted as "Abundance is strictly a question of spirit" and in the 1st line it's "Co-operation: The potential to co-operate with powerful forces for the benefit of spirit or not." The nodes are almost always retrograde and can take a few months to back through a gate, so this shift is significant, first in we let go of the channel of struggle which we've experienced for a few months. The North Node in the Cauldron of 50 is about values to serve and enrich the present and future, particularly related to the preservation of children. The South Node in the gate of "Ordering, difficulty at the beginning, the fundamental challenge of initiation is to transcend confusion and establish order." On the 31st the Sun moves into the 5th line of the 19th hexagram at 3:21 am EST. The Sun in the 19.5 is "Sacrifice: The need to limit personal potential in order to achieve a target goal."

Astrology and Tzolkin December 30th 2013 to January 11th 2014

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of December 30th 2013 for 1 - Ix "eesh" or Jaguar in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, also the Capricorn new moon, and Mercury moving into Aquarius.
December 30th 2013 for 1 - Ix "eesh" or Jaguar which carries the themes of shamanism, earth magic, strength and intellect, spirit of the jungles, gratitude, speed and stealth, Mother Nature, feminine and feline energy, mysticism, and expansion of consciousness. The Jaguar represents the primal spiritual force that inhabits all of us. To the Maya the Jaguar’s spotted coat represents the Milky Way Galaxy. The Maya also refer to the Milky Way the "White Boned Serpent: Wakan Chan " and the "path in the sky to the center of the universe: Kuxan Suum." This 13 day cycle is about exposing our dark spots to the light and being transformed. This is a time to release fear so we can be in our intuition and also to turn our attention and actions to taking care of our planet and our bodies.
January is the first month and with the digits for 2014, when added together we get 8, then we have an eight month in numerology. Basic numerology reduces numbers to one through nine, so when we think about that arc the 8 represents a time of picking up the pace as we are preparing to complete the cycle next month. This can also bring revisions to financial situations, businesses, investments, and industry. The eight is represented by the Justice/Adjustment archetype in the Tarot cards, which is about finding balance in our path to know ourselves. This also brings the energy that what is begun must be completed. Although the numerology in January and February 2014 repeat November and December 2013, with January being an eight month and February being a nine month, the new cycle actually beings in March. Which in astrology the new year begins in March with the Vernal Equinox.  So this month is a time to tie up loose ends so that we clean our plate for something new as events begin to give us hints about a new direction to take. January and also February are about clearing out the old people, places, and things to make room for their new counterparts which will emerge in March. 2014 when added together become seven, so as a seven year there is emphasis on the inner aspects of awareness, strength, wisdom and knowledge. The seven in the Tarot is the Chariot, so 2014 is a Chariot year. The Chariot in the Tarot cards is about finding our stillness even as we are in motion. Taoist philosophy remarks that change is successful when "the great rooted tree by the flowing river" is combined within the natural setting. Given that we are in the midst of great global and individual transformation, the Chariot reminds us to incorporate equal proportions of contemplation and quietude in 2014. Something that I find interesting is that we're about to enter into the Chinese new year of the Green Wood Horse. Typically what pulls the Chariot? A horse.
Before I get into the daily energy for 1 - Ix "eesh" or Jaguar, January brings a fair amount of chaos as the month begins. Venus is retrograde in Capricorn and Mars in Libra opposes Uranus and squares Pluto. I'm hoping by this point we are well aware of our value as individuals and can share our gifts so we can flow with the rapid unexpected changes of our journey into 2014. Mars is in its detriment in Libra because it is opposite Aries, the sign of Martian rulership, and is traditionally considered to have difficulty operating positively in Libra. Because of its retrograde cycle Mars will spend 8 months in the sign of the scales. Typically Mars spends two months in a sign so this placement for most of the year is uncomfortable and monotonous. Mars agitates and in Libra it's about relationships and can lead to social anger. This may cause us to see an increase in passive aggression, which I personally despise. Mars has been in Libra for most of December and I've already seen folks competing for love. They are willing to fight for a partner. People are becoming aggressive in their quest for romantic love. We've spoken over the past reports about the Uranus Pluto square's energy to transform power structures through the rebellious actions of individuals, with Mars, the god of war, joining the party, it's going to get even more aggressive in April when we will have a Grand Cross with Pluto in Capricorn, Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Cancer, and Mars in Libra all at 13 degrees. This will be of particular interest in the United States because it exactly aligns with the July 4th 1776 Cancer Sun of the U.S. natal chart. It's important to realize that the planets in transit seek balance, and only do damage to that which is out of balance. For instance Pluto in Capricorn since 2008, is about bringing balance back to power structures. So the planet of transformation wants to restore balance to governments, corporations and the banking system. All of which are in great need of rebalancing. In January we are adding Mars, the warrior archetype, to the mix as he dances not only with Uranus and Pluto, but also with Mercury and the Sun at the beginning of the month. Mars, who prefers to be overt in his expression of aggression, is not happy in Libra which seeks balance and harmony in relationships and social situations. He is gritting his teeth behind a forced smile. I expect we may literally see this metaphor played out in our interactions with friends and family as the Martian desire, obnoxiousness, and aggression setting off the larger cycles with Uranus and Pluto. With Uranus it means events could be radical, unpredictable, rebellious, and upsetting. Until January 10th, I'd expect people to be restless which may lead to reckless behavior as there is an overwhelming sense of needing to be liberated from anything that feels oppressive. This would also be a time to look for world events as we may see unexpected eruptions of violence to topple decaying power structures to restore balance. The greater the imbalance, the greater the backlash in restoring harmony. Martian energy can be constructively channeled into physical activities, so don't neglect to get exercise because of the obligations of the holidays. Also exercising caution, because accidents are common when Mars interacts with Uranus and anger and rage are to be expected with Pluto challenging the god of war. However this plays out in your life, try to see the higher purpose of these events trying to restore balance.
Before I get into the daily energy for Jaguar, on the 30th all the planets appear to move forward from our vantage point on Earth except Venus and Jupiter, which appear to move retrograde or in reverse motion.  I've discussed in depth the implications of the other planets moving retrograde in past reports, so I'll just keynote each one. Venus retrograde in Capricorn brings the planet of esthetics, romance, and money to remain in the sign of the goat-fish for four months. Venus moved through its shadow period since November 20th when it crossed the point where it will eventually turn direct and remained in the shadow prior to turning retrograde on December 21st, where we received information about needing to adjust our direction. Venus is retrograde from the Winter Solstice December 21st, at 28 and change almost 29 degrees of Capricorn until January 31st at 13 Capricorn, which will be the time when we will notice events related to our relationships and/or money that shifts our thinking to prepare us for the change we will implement after Venus is direct. Also Venus retrograde brings people from our past pulling at our heartstrings. Jupiter was the king of the gods, and the planet is about good fortune, opportunities, faith, religion, beliefs and expansion. Cancer is about family, home, nurturing, and protection. Mostly what I find with Jupiter retrograde, as with any retrograde cycle there is a review of the past, and with Jupiter what gets reviewed are missed opportunities. In Cancer these are likely to be related to home and family. When I think of these two retrogrades in concert in January, we may have folks reviewing their past relationships for missed opportunities. Because Venus also rules money we'll be reviewing past financial dealings with an eye for choices that did not work out as planned. Overall something from the past needs to be resolved as we are moving into a nine month in numerology in February, whether it's love relationships, or financial connections, and in Capricorn, we need to be committed to our resolution. This is a push to tie up loose ends as we move into 2014 and a new season with Venus retrograde. Overall I think the trap to watch out for is regret. The past is the past, so let go of regrets and try not to waste much thought on whether someone who has dumped you in the past, regrets their choice. I think those without regrets tend to be shallow people and if you were tossed aside by one of them, they probably did you a favor, but with Mars in Libra, some will aggressively pursue those partners that they regret losing.
Another thing I find interesting about this year is we have two new moons in January, none in February, and another two full moons in March. This sets powerful new energies in motion that require the numerological nine month of February to release the old, worn out, whether it's aspects of self, life situations, attitudes that no longer work, or concepts, beliefs, or perceptions that have out grown their usefulness.

Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena. December 30th 2013 is 1 - Ix "eesh" or Jaguar: unity experienced through enjoying nature, as the Sun squares Uranus which is a disruptive transit adding to the likelihood of upsets and behaviors that are upsetting to others. Also unexpected mechanical problems, a sudden argument, or separation within a relationship. With the Sun involved we are talking about a conflict between egos. Folks will also be more likely to feel restless, so it might be important to be conscious of this possibility, and find a way to allow the restless energy to express itself, rather than being shocked by how it gets expressed unconsciously. This adds to the accident prone energy of the transits leading up to the 30th. This is a time to realize those accidents are not happening to you, you are creating them. The drive to do something free and liberating is strong, just try to exercise enough consciousness to give it expression without causing damage to your life. Mars square Pluto on the 30th continues to ramp up the intensity leading into the new year. The 29th to the 3rd being the peak of this expression of aggression, unexpected rebellion, and transformation. Many will spend this time with friends and family where the potential for reactivity and stressful interactions will involve our personal relationships. This would be a time to release Martian energy constructively through physical activities and exercise. This brings a showdown between planet octaves and co-rulers of Scorpio. This could be about transforming the world around you or having fierce disagreements and power struggles. It arouses ambition and the desire to get ahead with high energy to back the drive with action, usually with opposition coming from others. This can be ruthless and underhanded in dealing with anyone who is an obstacle to achieving the goal. Definitely a time to avoid dangerous people and places. Also we have Mercury in harmony with Chiron continuing to allow deep healing of the wounds that were previously unconscious or inaccessible, through understanding on an intellectual level and the availability of new awareness and wisdom. Be compassionate with others and with yourself. Also on the 30th the Sagittarius Moon finds support from Uranus and is stimulated by Mars at 6:36 am EST and then the Moon turns void of course for the rest of the day. The day begins with having the impulse to engage in activities that make us feel more alive, then later brings the desire to work independently from others, then is Void of course for the rest of the day which is about enjoying social interactions with others while avoiding major decisions or purchases, but is good to use for resting to assimilate this latest round of energy and experiences. The 31st is 2 - Men "men" or Eagle: duality experienced through seeing from a higher perspective, as Mercury merges with Pluto which intensifies mental activity and a penetrating quality to communications along with having a critical eye for what needs to be transformed in our environment. New Years Eve on steroids, with increasing intensity. On a mental level there is a penetrating quality to go deep in discovering the "truth" in which superficiality does not cut it. This also indicates a capacity to influence others, and to speak with a persuasive voice. People will present opinions as facts, believing they are right and the other is wrong. Be careful of who you engage with under this transit, as many will make statements with no regard for the feelings of the listener, which they may interpret as threatening. This can also bring more acute powers for penetrating analysis of human nature, which is best not shared without an invitation to do so. Let's not forget that this transit is effecting everyone so we are as likely to be the recipient of these behaviors from others, as being the perpetrator. Probably the best use of this transit is to get preoccupied with a project or idea that you work on independently from others and you wait to share until another day. Mercury square Mars also on the 31st, continues to compound the intensity with another difficult transit. This one has people feeling touchy and irritable, with almost any communication interpreted as a challenge. Hard to imagine that someone doesn't get set off by the implied attitude of this transit. People will feel the drive to defend their ideas, from a simple debate to an all out fight. This time it would be important to realize beliefs and thoughts can change and to not indentify our ego with them. This is yet another transit that indicates the potential to be involved in accidents. This is particularly likely for someone who is trying to suppress their anger. Sun sextile Chiron brings illumination of our wounds with the intension for healing, but given the other transits any vulnerable feelings may add to the potential for perfect storm celebration of the death of 2013 and birth of 2014. Also on the 31st the Capricorn Moon is in harmony with Neptune which brings greater sensitivity to others' emotions with possible psychic impressions for those who are open. January 1st is 3 - Cib "keeb" or Wisdom: taking action through introspection, meditation and forgiveness, while the Capricorn New Moon at almost 11 degrees on the 1st, is challenged by Uranus and Mars, merging with the Sun, Pluto, and Mercury, opposing Jupiter, and supported by Saturn. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, this new moon represents new beginnings related to work, commitments, discipline, elders, which might begin as a limitation or obstacle that must be overcome or at least bypassed, so that the new energy can precede. This is intense because this New Moon is the head of a t-square with the Sun, Mercury, and Pluto all at right angles to the Mars Uranus opposition. This has the rational mind being influenced by emotions, irritability bringing a danger of needless disputes, stimulation of the drive for personal freedom, wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings, folks acting hasty and jumping to conclusions, and very intense emotional experiences as energies come to the surface from the deepest parts of our psyches. New Moons bring the opportunity to set an intension for manifestation on the following full moon. Look to the house of your astrology chart that contains 10 degrees 57 minutes of Capricorn to consider what area of your life is being activated by this new moon. For me that would be my 7th house of Partnership and Marriage, but also any one to one relationship, so I would set an intension related to using this energy, such as finding new ways to relate to the folks with which I have a one to one relationship, whether romantic or business through making a deeper commitment or overcoming some limitation. Pluto brings in transformational elements into the new moon, so there is a transformative purpose aligned with the new opportunities that are opening up. This New Moon is particularly potent for making big changes through taking a leap of faith leading us into 2014. Certainly releasing outdated limitations, like removing your mask at the masquerade new year's party, to reveal a greater awareness of our authentic true self, our new direction, and purpose. The Sun merges with Pluto which illuminates underlying experiences, usually of a dark nature, that leads to fundamental evolutionary changes from within. This can bring the power of changes that we see as major occurrences in the world with the themes of growth, evolution, decay and death, along with rebirth and regeneration. Some of us may have to contend with a person who is trying to exert unreasonable power over us, which will likely force us to defend our right to do things in a way that is correct for us. With Pluto this may have hidden elements that have powerful ramifications. A good day to avoid areas where you are likely to encounter street crime, with Mars in the mix the results could be violent. The 2nd is 4 - Caban "kah-ban" or Earth: stability through gratitude for Mother Earth, while the Sun squares Mars which is a day when we are more conscious of ourselves and our motivations. This could be a day where we observe serious ego conflicts between people. Folks will be looking for vulnerabilities in others, flaws in arguments, any errors which can be challenged, or any other chink in the armor of the other. This is a high energy transit, perhaps too high if we're not careful. So watch for signs of people becoming irritable or impatient, especially when things don't go exactly as planned. Probably it's best to avoid being assertive unless it's absolutely called for. This is also a time where people are projecting their irritability and aggression on others without realizing that it's originating within themselves. A day to be particularly careful of conflict with authority, even if their claims are legitimate, we are likely to encounter a hostile reaction during this transit. It would be good to vent this energy into some type of physical activity that will give your aggressions a satisfactory outlet. Without an outward expression this type of energy can lead to illness or accidents, or if projected will attract angry and difficult people, as the Moon in Capricorn merges with Venus which feels cheerful, warm, gregarious, and wanting to go out and socialize. January 3rd is 5 - Etznab "etz-nob" or Flint: empowerment through being introspective, with Mercury opposing Jupiter which expands information and communication, this also can bring a day or two of good feelings and an optimistic outlook. With care this can be helpful in contractual negotiations, planning meetings, discussions and conferences. Because Jupiter is influencing Mercury, the caution is to be aware of grandiose thinking, where the whole is much clearer than the parts. Read details carefully with regard to the fine points, because we often lose precision and clarity, so read the small print. Thoroughness lead to success. In communicating with others, the influence of this transit my come off as arrogance or cockiness, so it's important to be flexible and open to another's point of view. Some will want to engage in debating today, just try not to take any intellectual jousting too seriously. Plans made now, or previously and executed now will be furthered by this transit, as long as we take the care to make accurate and perceptive judgments, as the Aquarius Moon is stimulated by Uranus, finds support from Mars, and is challenged by Saturn. The day's emotional energy moves from pleasant yet restless energy that desires emotional excitement, to later feeling a little more confident than usual with the ability to assert ourselves in a positive manner, and finally people feeling lonely or isolated. The 4th is 6 - Cauac "cow-ack" or Storm: being in the flow through recognizing the gifts in adversity, while the Pisces Moon merges with Neptune which brings feelings of empathy for those around us, including the possibility of clairvoyance and telepathic experiences for those of us who are sensitive by nature. January 5th is 7 - Ahau "ah-how" or Sun: reflection through honoring the wisdom and memory of our ancestors, while the Sun opposes Jupiter which has a double potential that we see with oppositions. This is another day of feeling good, cheerful and optimistic. The feeling that nothing can go wrong today has its good points and its bad points. The best way find success with this transit is to not go overboard in any area, of course this is exactly what can happen at this time. This can also build our self confidence, giving us the courage to do something we've never done before. It's another Jupiter alignment where we need to avoid being arrogant. Any negativity that is being expressed also expands and can turn into conflicts with others. It's important to know your listener if offering constructive criticism, to avoid offering more than can be heard. Authority figures may interpret informing as over stepping some sort of boundary or even self righteousness. As with an opposition, like a full moon, this is a time when something that was planted back in June is coming to fruition. Basically at this time don't over extend yourself or make commitments you can't keep, with the Moon in Pisces in harmony with Pluto, the Sun, and Mercury, and finding support from Jupiter and Saturn. The day's emotional energy moves from experiencing deep emotions on a profound level, to later feeling balance between our inner and outer worlds with people having a pleasant sense of wellbeing, and finally lots of chatting with friends, neighbors, coworkers... while also having a sober realistic view of life. The 6th is 8 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile: balance through nurturing new beginnings, as Mercury sextiles Saturn which is great for constructive criticism that comes from being able to see what can be improved in our surrounding environment. We are very conscious of flaws, including our own, so we can use our critical eye to what should be changed to bring improvement. This can be very serious in its pursuit of betterment, make sure your honoring what is positive, so not to get overwhelmed by the many imperfections that are in view with this transit. Older people may serve as teachers and mentors at this time. This is nice energy for working carefully on any mental task from a place of concentration and precision, whereas activities that require a great scope of vision may be more difficult. This is about the details, rather than the overall pattern. Difficulty seeing the forest for the trees, while the Moon in Pisces is in harmony with Venus which is about having pleasant energy to be with friends and loved ones. January 7th is 9 - Ik "eek" or Wind: patience experienced through communication, while Mercury conjuncts Venus which stimulates our appreciation of beauty, whether it be art, poetry, music, people, or nature. In Capricorn people may be more likely to express their committed love for others. This is a merging of the mental and emotional realms within ourselves, so folks may experience concepts with emotions or express feelings in an intellectual manner. This is wonderful for creativity or any type of artistic expression. This transit can be favorable for financial and business dealings, along with scientific research by seeing patterns in the universe and appreciating them aesthetically. While the first quarter Moon in Aries merges with Uranus, is challenged by Pluto, Jupiter and the Sun, and opposed by Mars, the emotional wave moves from people feeling impulsive and acting rashly, with moods changing quickly and unexpectedly, to having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run, then opposed by Mars which influences people to be more excitable and irritable which can cause problems in our personal lives, with a little later benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment, and finally brings challenges to following a daily routine. The 8th is 10 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: manifestation through contemplating the stars, while Mars squares Jupiter, which brings energy for successful activities and furthering new projects, with a caution against being reckless during this surge of unbridled desire. Folks will be tempted to shoot first and ask questions later, acting quickly without considering all the factors. Unjustified optimism that our efforts today will "turn into gold" may unbalance our judgment. Thru planning and fore thought we may find success, but it will not come about based solely on luck. This transit is future oriented, and good for furthering new projects, just avoid overextending yourself or your resources. There is also a fondness for taking risks and pushing beyond normal limitations of energy, impulsivity now will be paid for in the future, which may be less than pleasant, or it may result in accidents at this time, with the Moon in Aries Challenged by Venus and Mercury, moves from pleasant energy for being with the others we want to know better, to later folks being critical in their communications particularly with the people they have intimate relationships with. January 9th is 11 - Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: resolution through planting seeds and making new connections, while the Taurus Moon is in harmony with Neptune and supported by Pluto, moves from being very sensitive to the moods of others, to later with Pluto bringing out intense emotions and stimulating sensitivity, which also favors sexual relationships. The 10th is 12 - Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: understanding through being flexible, while the Moon in Taurus is in harmony with Jupiter, supported by the Sun and Venus, and opposed by Saturn. The day moves from feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness, to later feelings of inner and outer equanimity, and finally feeling lonely and isolated, that shifts to enjoying pleasant feelings and social interactions. January 11th is 13 - Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: movement to the next stage through releasing what no longer serves us, while Mercury moves into Aquarius which shifts the focus of communications and thinking to social consciousness, while being true to our individuality to share our inventive ideas with groups and communities.  Venus sextile Saturn pleasantly encourages us to look at our responsibilities in our relationships in a positive way, as there is a sense of gratification in being of service to our loved ones. What's good for the group is more important today and people work to further those ideals even if it means some level of self denial. This is a good time to talk with a loved one about your expectations from each other. This is practical energy which favors business affairs and commerce, particularly with art or other things of beauty. This is also good for creativity that demands close attention to details. While the Sun conjunct Venus is wonderful for self expression in relationships, and a certain amount of assertiveness to gain the attention of those we love. This is a good time to socialize, make new contacts, friends and even possibly a new love interest. This is also favorable for financial activities, just avoid being extravagant or self indulgent. The negative of this is people think they are the most fascinating and interesting person in the world, which others interpret as being a vain fool. Also on the 11th, the Sun sextiles Saturn which is a great day for getting things done. It brings an orderly state of mind and a strong sense of self discipline. This is practical energy that is not interested in idealistic or abstract considerations that have no application in daily life. This favors all matters related to work or profession, with what is accomplished being done carefully with wonderful concentration and attention to detail, which may impress authority figures. Advice from older people is also favored under this transit. Not the best day for relaxing, because it can be a little serious in its frame of mind, with the Moon finding support from Mercury, and challenged by  Neptune, the day's energy goes from feeling in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others to daydreams and fantasies feeling more important than reality.
So no matter what energies are affecting you during this 1 Jaguar trecena, take some time to be in the flow of the planet by being in nature, watching a sunrise or sunset, communing with the stars, being conscious of the moment through introspection, meditation or being with someone you love. Every day is a blessing no matter what dramas beckon to distract us. We are all giving the performance of a life time on this world stage, just take some time to observe the play as well as act your part. Remember you are a spiritual being having a human experience.

Astrology and Tzolkin December 17th to the 29th 2013

This is the "Care and feeding of a New World Age" report for Gregorian date of December 17th 2013 for 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, also The Gemini full moon, Uranus moving direct, The Sun moving into Capricorn for the Solstice, Venus turning Retrograde, and Mercury moving into Capricorn.

December 17th 2013 for 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile which carries the themes of beginnings, Mother Earth, protection and trust, nurturing, primordial energy, new opportunities and information, instincts, primal creativity, water-lily, abundance, the essence of nature, beauty, receptivity and growth. Much like other indigenous people who believed that the Earth was carried on the back of a turtle, the Maya believed that our planet was carried on the back of a crocodile who would nurture and protect all life forms. They believed that from this primal force humans received messages and feelings about our connection to Mother Earth. This thirteen day period would be excellent to spend time in nature and listen to the subtle messages from Gaia. With One crocodile, we begin a 260 day Tzolkin round which ends with 13 – Ahau on September 2nd 2014.
Before I get into the daily energy for 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile, on December 17th 2013 all the planets appear to move forward from our vantage point on Earth except Jupiter and Uranus, which appear to move retrograde or in reverse motion. I've discussed in depth the implications of the other planets moving retrograde in the past reports, so I'll just keynote each one. Retrograde Uranus in Aries is seeking to shake our very foundation to shock us to awaken and forces us to embrace our new way of living through reversals and unexpected events.
The big change for the 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile thirteen day period is Uranus at a standstill as it prepares to turn direct on the full moon that begins the Imix trecena. When a planet is stopped it is said to be at the peak of its power, so Uranus at the peak of its power during December, is seeking to change our world through the unexpected rebellion of the individual. Obviously this will be a difficult time of upheaval, destruction, death, unexpected change, natural disasters, violence and war. Stationed Uranus in Aries will have people wanting to hurry the process of getting free. To push the river of revolution whether it be personal or governmental. This impulse may not be in the best interest of those acting on it, because with Pluto in Capricorn these changes and their consequences may be long lasting and very difficult to reverse. I think that this is the time of detaching (Uranus) to act as an unobstructed individual (Aries).  When I think of the day Uranus changed sign moving from Pisces into Aries on March 11 2011, I always remember that was the day of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami which crippled the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plants, which are still unstable and spewing radiation to this day. And of course Uranus rules Uranium... Uranus in astrology forces us outside our comfort zone so we have to look for possibilities "outside the box." This is about unplanned experiences that disrupt our perceived and planned life path in order to move us forward in our spiritual evolution, individually and globally.
Uranus spends approximately seven years in a sign and leaves Aries for Taurus in 2018 then retrogrades back to Aries and finally departs for almost 80 years, March of 2019. These seven year cycles are about testing us to adapt to a new change, and we are currently experiencing the Aries test. Being an outer planet, Uranus creates events that we "respond" to. The inner planets effect us personally as individuals, but the outer planets change the landscape which effects us as a collective and as individuals within humanity. Which reminds me of this Krishnamurti quote "The only hope for humankind is in the transformation of the individual." Uranus creates challenges according to the sign it's in, so we may feel like we keep getting lessons in a theme over and over again. Uranus being the modern ruling planet of Aquarius, means that fairness is one of the topics, and often these events may seem unfairly set against us. I know I feel this with government and corporations conspiring to poison us with GMO food and starve us through austerity measures, oil and tar sand spills, fracking, chemtrails, geo-engineering, and manmade massive weather events, while the global elite eat organic food, build underground bunkers, and hoard seeds in arctic vaults. Which brings us to the theme of Aries: the self, the individual, the new beginning... This time particularly impacts people with personal planets in the signs of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, and of course Aries, as these planets become doorways to something unexpected and yet authentic. Which sets the stage for the epic seven challenging squares with Pluto in Capricorn that we've been experiencing since last year. As the individuals (Aries) revolting (Uranus) against the decaying power (Pluto) structures (Capricorn), which we can see this in almost every corner of the Earth as the individuals and groups protest oppression from the global elite. I believe the uprisings will be successful in overthrowing the old regimes and patriarchy, but it's an uphill fight for some time to come. Interestingly, the last time there were Uranus Pluto squares, was 1932 to 1934, Uranus was in Aries as it is now, and as I have talked about before the Mercury retrograde cycles repeat every 79 years, so we are currently repeating the 1934 Mercury cycle which brings forward similar aspects that we see being played out in the event field. That was a time of great upheaval with events such as the Dust Bowl, which was caused by farming practices that stripped the soil, which when the weather changed destroyed the landscape. Also that was the time of the Great Depression with international power struggles, leadership changes, and financial adjustments, such as the New Deal programs, under F.D.R. in the U.S. from 1933 to 1936, as a safety net for the poor and unemployed, which are the same programs that the legislators in the U.S government are currently trying to dismantle. And we see these themes being played out in many other countries at that time as well.
In thinking of the many environmental events we are facing whether manmade or natural, I was reminded that Uranus was one of the original gods to the Greeks. He was the sky god and the husband of the earth goddess Gaia. He was born out of the primordial chaos, and came every night to cover the earth and mate with Gaia. Unfortunately he hated the children she bore him and killed or imprisoned most of them, until his son Cronus or Saturn ambushed his father, castrated him, and cast the severed testicles into the sea, which then became Aphrodite or Venus the goddess of love. After being disposed the sky no longer covered the earth at night and instead held its place above the earth. Which I guess was the beginning of being able to study the movements of the planets and stars in the night sky. This change in direction is interesting on the first day of the Imix trecena and the beginning of a new 260 day round, which is about nurturing and protecting our mother earth and being nurtured and protected by her, which is the theme of crocodile.
Speaking of the goddess of love, Venus appears to be stopped at the opening of the month prior to appearing to move retrograde or in reverse motion from the perspective of the Earth on the Winter Solstice December 21st, in the sign of Capricorn, which brings the planet of esthetics, romance, and money to remain in the sign of the goat-fish for four months. When a planet is stopped it is said to be at the peak of its power. Venus is currently moving through its shadow period since November 20th when it crossed the point where it will eventually turn direct. It remains in the shadow prior to turning retrograde on December 21st, where we receive information about needing to adjust our direction. Venus will take a few days to build momentum in moving reverse after the 21st.
Ok let's look at the daily vibrational energy for this trecena. December 17th 2013 for 1 - Imix "e-meesh" or Crocodile: unity experienced through nurturing new beginnings, as the Gemini Full Moon is opposed by Mercury and the Sun, which underscores the theme of learning. Mercury and the Sun in Sagittarius are seeking education and travel to learn the truth that gives life meaning. The Gemini Moon is curious and seeks to gather information that may have value in the future. So you may want to seek answers to the important questions in your life under this influence. Full moons are a time of tension as the Sun in Sagittarius is about balancing freedom to explore through experience with having perspective to gather information for intellectual pursuits, represented by the Moon in Gemini. People talk more on full moons and in Gemini, with its ruler Mercury in Sagittarius, this is likely to be particularly true. With Mars in Libra applying towards a t-square with Uranus and Pluto, there is a sense of disharmony, where Mars wants something from the other, Uranus at the peak of his power is unpredictable and potentially volatile, and Pluto goes to extremes during this full moon. This begins the time period for the next three weeks where intensity and tension are on the rise. Uranus turns direct after being retrograde since July, which brings us into a time of awakening in concert with the Gemini Full Moon. With Uranus moving forward at 8 degrees Aries, we slowly realize the powerful energetic that stimulates us to live our lives more authentically. This adds more weight to the seeking freedom side of the equation. The 18th is 2 - Ik "eek" or Wind: duality experienced through communication, as Jupiter squares Ceres, which gives us a few days before and after that date where exercise and dieting routines are challenged. The temptation is to indulge during this time period, it's important to listen to our bodies to maintain a balance, while the Cancer Moon is challenged by Uranus, and opposed by Pluto, which has folks acting hasty and jumping to conclusions that may not be correct, and brings deep emotions rising to the surface. December 19th is 3 - Akbal "awk-bol" or Night: taking action through contemplating the stars, with the Moon in Cancer merging with Jupiter, finding support from Saturn, and opposed by Venus. The day's emotional energy begins with good feelings and generosity towards others, then shifts to a more sober and realistic view of life, and wraps up with pleasant energy for enjoying sensual experiences and rich food with a caution against overindulgence. The 20th is 4 - Kan "con" or Seed or Lizard: stability through planting seeds and making new connections, as the Leo Moon is stimulated by Mars, and finds support from Uranus. The day moves from having the desire to work independently from others to later having the impulse to engage in activities that make us feel more alive. December 21st is 5 - Chicchan "chee-chan" or Serpent: empowerment through being flexible, as the Sun enters into Capricorn bringing us the Solstice, Winter in the North and Summer in the South which we discussed in detail at the beginning of this report. Solstice and Equinox charts have long been used as predictors of the coming season. In the north this begins a time of turning inward during the winter, and to evaluate the growth and manifestations that were planted during the spring equinox in March. In the south this is a time of cultivating the intensions planted during the spring equinox in September. When considering the Solstice chart, I look at the dominant alignments, which the Uranus Pluto square is very strong and we've discussed it at length as being the force for transformation through rebellion. On the solstice, Mars is opposite Uranus which fuels the aggressive and potentially violent aspects of individuals seeking freedom from oppressive and decaying power structures. The next three months could see an increase in protests that escalate into violence, but the Libra Mars will try to put a good face on any ugliness. The most positive aspect of the chart is the trine between Jupiter and Saturn which favors business, but with the Leo Moon square Saturn and semi-sextile Jupiter in Cancer, the home and family my feel neglected by focus on enterprise. With a Leo moon I suspect this will not be without some drama coming from the homestead. Overall the next few months have opportunities for business and challenges at home, and potentially aggressive rebellion in the streets. Also on the 21st Venus turns retrograde which begins the second stage where we will learn about a change in our course, through our experiences in relationships. Retrogrades are times of review and looking backward. Venus is retrograde every eighteen months and can have an impact on our relationships, but also our money. I think with Jupiter being the only other retrograde planet during that time, we may have folks reviewing their past relationships for missed opportunities. Because Venus also rules money we'll be reviewing past financial dealings with an eye for choices that did not work out as planned. Overall something from the past needs to be resolved as we are wrapping up the year during a nine month in numerology, whether it's love relationships, or financial connections, and in Capricorn, we need to be committed to our resolution. This is a push to tie up loose ends as we move into 2014 and a new season with Venus retrograde. Overall I think the trap to watch out for is regret. The past is the past, so let go of regrets and try not to waste much thought on whether someone who has dumped you in the past, regrets their choice. I think those without regrets tend to be shallow people and if you were tossed aside by one of them, they probably did you a favor, as the Leo Moon is challenged by Saturn which brings people feeling lonely or isolated for part of the day. The 22nd is 6 - Cimi "key-mee" or Transformation: being in the flow through releasing what no longer serves us, while the Moon finds support from Mercury and the Sun, and is opposed by Neptune. The day moves from feeling in touch with our emotions and expressing them to others, to later feeling a sense of inner harmony which is mirrored in the outside world, and finally feeling sensitive emotionally but confused regarding the accuracy of what's being felt. December 23rd is 7 - Manik "man-eek" or Deer: reflection through being of service to others, with the Virgo Moon finding support from Pluto which brings out intense emotions and stimulates sensitivity, which also favors sexual relationships. The 24th is 8 - Lamat "la-maught" or Star or Rabbit: balance through being grateful for abundant relationships, as the Capricorn Sun harmonizes with Neptune which brings a pleasant flow between our conscious world and our spiritual world through intuition, imagination, meditation, and creativity. This also brings sensitivity to the energies of people and circumstances in your environment. We are more compassionate to the needs of others and also more willing to help them than usual. Neptune lowers the ego demands of the Sun, which allows us to be more open to the expressions of others. Service brings satisfaction under this transit. Spiritual and mystical aspects of life grab more of our attention during this period. Great energy to take space out of your normal routine to meditate or spend time in nature. This transit tends to lower energy, so this is not a good day to start some herculean new project. Do something that improves your spiritual wellbeing. This is like the energy that transformed Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Also on the 24th Mercury moves into Capricorn which adds momentum as planets begin to cluster in the sign of business, government, industry, and finance, where Pluto has been focused on breaking down these systems since 2008. Mercury in the sign of the goat-fish is serious in its communications and thinking. This begins a good period for business and thinking about goals for 2014, while the Moon in Virgo harmonizes with Jupiter and Saturn, and is supported by Venus. The day begins with feeling in the flow and having a sense of wholeness, then later realistic expectations through being calm and reflective, and finally enjoying pleasant feelings and social interactions. December 25th is 9 - Muluc "moo-luke" or Offering: patience experienced through appreciating creation, while Mars is opposed by Uranus bringing stress for a few days before and after the 25th, with pressure to make radical changes, and with Mars involved I would not rule out aggressive or violent methods to bring about revolutionary transformation. Although Mars may appear to be "playing nice" in Libra, and the expressions may be through passive aggression. For those celebrating the holidays, this might be an interesting period to observe friends and family try to maintain their "spirit of the season," while feeling such tension to upset the status quo through any means necessary. This is always a difficult time for folks, and given this alignment, we may see an increase in substance abuse and suicides even over past holiday seasons. Like most oppositions there are two sides to this story. On one side and most commonly, this could be a time where people act out rashly against people who have oppressed or held them back in the past, or consistently angered them over time. The other side of this transit is to suddenly have the impulse to escape the obligations being imposed. Basically this comes down to fight or flight. Most frequently this signifies an explosive release of tension through an angry exchange, usually with people close to you. At very least folks will be experiencing a great sense of impatience. On the positive side we may find that our efforts to liberate ourselves from unnecessary and limiting situations starts to succeed, where we feel we are becoming free of those bonds. This is also time to take care, as accidents are more likely, while the last quarter Moon in Libra is challenged by Mercury, the Sun, and Pluto, opposed by Uranus, and merging with Mars. The day's emotional wave begins with folks being critical in their communications particularly with the people they have intimate relationships with, then we encounter challenges to our daily routines, later folks are emotionally excitable and impulsive, and experiencing irritable moods and critical communications, and finally having the compulsion to act in ways that may not be good for us in the long run. The 26th is 10 - Oc "awk" or Dog: manifestation through enjoying family and friends, while Mercury harmonizes with Neptune which is very positive for stimulating the imagination and also brings a greater sensitivity to the more subtle energies and psychic information. This could be a period of dreaminess where folks spend more time fantasizing. Withdrawal from life is not bad, and is often important for feeding the world within through inspiration, as the intangible reality is as important as the material world. This may be a time where we are more aware of what's going on in the minds of others, which is often difficult to keep intuitions organized. Clarity and detail are not favored at this time, with the Libra Moon challenged by Jupiter which has benevolent and generous feelings for those in our immediate environment. December 27th is 11 - Chuen "shoe-in" or Monkey: resolution through creating something new, while the Moon is challenged by Venus, finds support from Neptune, harmonizes with Mercury and the Sun. The day moves from pleasant energy for being with the others we want to know better, to fantasies and daydreams distracting us from accomplishing routine tasks, and finally lots of chatting with friends, neighbors, coworkers... with feelings of inner and outer equanimity. The 28th is 12 - Eb "eb" or Road: understanding through serving your community, while the Scorpio Moon is in harmony with Pluto, supported by Jupiter, and merging with Saturn. The day moves from having deep emotions finding their way to the surface and felt on a profound level, to later people having a pleasant sense of wellbeing, and wraps up with wanting to be alone in our thoughts and feelings. December 29th is 13 - Ben "ben" or Reed or Corn: movement to the next stage through maintaining the home, while the Sun merges with Mercury which stimulates our social interactions and conversations, particularly with people who are part of our new direction, and in Capricorn this could be related to business pursuits. Also illumination comes to some of the dark areas of our minds which brings forward information that was previously in the shadows. This alignment emphasizes an increase in conversations, although folks are more inclined to talk than listen. Being a conjunction, this brings the initiative to start something new, including starting a new business venture, as Mercury rules commerce and the exchange of ideas. This also brings a sharpness to the thinking process and is a good time to make plans for the future. Later Mercury in Capricorn is challenged by Uranus in Aries which is a stressful alignment that pits the traditional thinking against rebellious new views on the 29th. Since the outer planets tend to have more power, I believe that any rigid conservative ideas will be attacked, and transformed or released to make way for more innovative concepts. This could also be a time of increased protests with potential recklessness and violence. Personally, this can be quite stimulating bringing fascination for new phenomenon. Flexibility is the key with this transit, because the more rigid our thinking the more nerve wracking the effect. Expect the unexpected, surprises and upsets, and you will have the best chance to go with the flow, which may mean that plans for the day do not work out as expected. Epiphanies are more likely, so you may want to capture your genius thoughts in some form of record keeping, to reexamine in the days that follow. The pace is fast which can lead to sloppiness. A day to be careful of making sudden unexpected moves as accidents are more likely under this influence, with the Moon in harmony with Venus and challenged by Neptune which moves from wanting to be with friends and the people we love, to daydreams and fantasies feeling more important than reality.
